…why? The added resistances do enough to make Ice types better imo. And Ice types defeating Feary types makes very little sense at all.

I believe this works to at least make both types a little better.

It makes some sense too, given evergreens and lichens that thrive in cold weather just fine, and well, it's hard to absorb frozen water.

Ice only needs two smallish changes.

a) one or two resists to relevant types. Flying and/or water are great.

b) setup move that raises speed and special attack. Possibly something along the lines of 'aurora dance' that raises speed, special attack and accuracy. Basically hone claws with a shit type restricted distro but superior otherwise.

What does this do? It effectively replaces icebeam for only ice types. Meaning mons with STAB ice aren't resisted by water BUT the endless legends and water types using unSTAB icebeam are still resisted by water mons. This greatly helps Ice's coverage problems without boosting all the other mons who run ice moves.

Combined with an exclusive boosting move like the above anon suggested, and you fix most of the problems without fucking with the type chart and adding a minimum amount of new stuff that has the potential to unbalance the game. Anything else like giving more ice mons earth power or whatever would just be icing on the cake.
