TL;DR
How to retain pokemon through reset?
Basically, I'm planning on restarting my Pokemon (ORAS) so that I can do a nuzlocke run, but I don't want to lose my pokemon that I spent time training, is there a way I can keep my pokemon and bring them into my reset? I've heard of pokebank but read it costs money and I don't have any to spend.

Pokebank is your only choice, but do mind that it won't store your megastones.
So if you have the stones for Glalie and Metagross you'd need to have a friend with ORAS to store them for you. If you really don't care about them though then yeah just transfer the entire contents of your PC to bank and reset.
If you seriously can't get bank for some reason or another all you can really do is either:
>a no-save nuzlocke
If you simply start a new game without clearing your save, the game will not let you overwrite your old save data.
>have a very good friend who also plays the game
One who is willing to sit with you for a couple hours trading all your key mons and items and store them within his boxes while you do your nuzlocke.
