Misty was fine, but she was way less mean in japanese dub, than any of the international ones I've seen. Thus a lot of "original" kids have skewed perceptions of Misty as a character.
While starting shit due to dogshit quality of the first season, May has become my prefered girl by the end of Battle Frontier. She got way more mature than Misty, less retarded than Dawn(pedobait) or Iris(annoying gypsy).
May is someone I can understand as a human better than all the other girls who seem exagerated in various ways that make them seem unreal. By the end of the series she also had highest skill than any other pokegirl and I personally like her tastes most from any other girl. I'm not into MILFs, but May will make a good one, one day.
Dawn may turn into a nice GILF if she doesn't evolve into a round japanese grandma.

You know, I'm going to take this opportunity to just come right out and say, and you can hate me for it if you want, but it is what I feel.
I never liked Misty. Not even then. I was a bit late getting into the series, but it was still 1999, and I just flipping HATED her. She was honestly the worst part of the show, and that's saying a lot considering what I think now. Ash might've deserved a lot of what she said to him, but she was still nothing more than hot air. She didn't even look that great, but I wasn't a little boy, either. The one credit I'll give to her is that she is not the worst of the females of the main cast. She's easily the second worst, and that's because Iris is everything that she was AND a Mary Sue.
