Aight nignogs, so apparently this thing was shown during the trailer for next years XY movie. Do you think we're getting Gen 7 already, or is this some new form of an existing Pokémon?

I think this isn't a new pokemon, but a part of the big baddie, which is rumored to be the theme for the new Z game coming out.

And god does pokemon need a new mainline game, or at least an announcement.

What do you mean by that? I'd say that the possibility of it being a new Pokémon isn't low, seeing as mons from a later gen have often been revealed in the gen before them. Honestly, though, it could be anything.

But if we're getting a mainline game, I wonder which team of GameFreak is going to be working on it, seeing as they're currently making Tembo the Badass Elephant.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is just a completely new pokemon. It may be a gen 7 poke, but I don't think we are going to get gen 7 for a couple years.

Well that's just a guess of mine, there hasn't been a confirmation, but there is a lot of talk about a definitive Z version, to stall for gen 7.

I think it is most likely the 'Mew' of gen 6. Each gen has had a small mythical pokemon (Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Shaymin, and Victini) but gen 6 does not have one yet.

I think that because Hoopa transforms into something bigger it is not the Gen 6 mythical pixie thing.

If this new green pokemon is part of gen 6 though, why has its data not yet been discovered? This may be a sign of Pokemon trying out DLC, or that this pokemon may only be available in the next Kalos games that are more than likely coming out next year.

Both Hoopa and Diancie count as mythical pokemon. You can have more than one in a gen, as with Manaphy and Shaymin for gen 4. Shaymin also has a larger alternate form, while Manaphy is associated with a lesser pokemon.

At any rate, there's nothing to stop Game Freak from adding another mythical for this gen, although the OP mon is apparently just Zygarde.
