Just came here searching through tags, didn't know this board existed.

I've been meaning to make my own Pokémon board on 8ch as a better alternative to the train wreck known as /poke/ but since this one exists with the same mentality I had in mind I guess I'm not doing that, and it's pretty active too which is nice… I'm gonna suggest some ideas though.

1. Allow discussion of non-Pokémon games that are related to Pokémon (e.g. Smash) as long as the thread is centered around Pokémon. I believe these kinds of threads are still somewhat on-topic and would attract more users including the "casual" Pokémon fans who otherwise wouldn't fit with the average /vp/oreons.

2. In extension to the previous point, I suggest allowing discussion of other monster-collecting franchises (excluding >>>/digimon/) such as Fossil Fighters, Monster Rancher, Dragon Warrior Monsters…etc. These franchises have a niche following that is too small for a dedicated board or a successful thread on /v/, they would fit right in here provided they keep each franchise to one thread only.

3. I would love for this board to have a CSS theme, the one I have in mind is the classic chan theme but in shades of light, pale yellow, and some subtle Pokémon art here and there. If I learned CSS I could probably write the code myself and visualize it perfectly, maybe later on though.

4. Keep only 1 stickied thread, with rules/introductions in the top 2 posts while the rest is for meta discussions. It's less cluttered that way, but remove the Pokémon Logo picture and replace it with a picture that says "/pokemon/" with the slashes included.

Here are some banners I made, I'll be making more later on… Though I want to know what is the file size limitation on banners, just to keep it in mind while making GIFs.

The CSS is on its way, hopefully I'll be able to finish it eventually.

A suggestion that came to mind: allow animated thumbnails for GIFs so that we can do this >>302 without it looking like shit.

As for porn I personally don't mind lewd or furry images as long as they're inside a spoiler, and contained in one or more "designated" threads.

Aaaaaaaaaand the CSS is finished.

Open pic related in a new tab and wait until it fully loads, save it then open it with WinRar/7-zip like you would with compressed files. Inside it is a folder containing a sample webpage using my CSS, along with some pictures… The files you'll need are:

>fade-pk.png

>style.css

The rest of the files were either taken directly from the board or were included in the webpage by me for aesthetic purposes (favicon/ads/…etc).

Here's a nifty trick to try out CSS on 8chan (you don't even need mod powers to do this):

>open 'style.css' in Notepad and copy everything in it

>go on this board, click 'Options' in the top right corner of the screen, the 'Options' dialog will open

>select 'Theme' on the left and you'll find a text box with a drop down list under it

>choose 'Yotsuba B' from the drop down list then paste the CSS text into the text box

>the CSS uses two image files ('bg.png' & 'fade-pk.png'), you will find them referenced in the first code block, replace them with direct internet links (for example replace 'bg.png' with 'http://any.web/site/bg.png'). You'll need to host them somewhere first though (try http://volafile.io).

>click "Save custom CSS" then close the 'Options' dialog

>when you're done testing the CSS open the 'Options' dialog again and remove everything in the text box, then choose 'Board-specific CSS' from the drop down menu

>click "Save custom CSS"

Note: You don't have to paste the whole CSS code from 'style.css' into the text box, you could paste only the properties you're changing (body/h1/p…etc). But since I changed several ones it's easier to just copy it all.

Here's my spoiler image in 3 different styles against a transparent background.

In case you couldn't tell, this is the font from the "Who's That Pokémon?" intermissions shown in the Anime.

These ones are against a yellow background, the same shade of yellow used in my CSS.

Now that the very painful migration attempt has failed and is bound to happen again in the near future, I say we postpone implementing the CSS until we're on the new website… Of course then I'll have to rewrite the whole thing but it should be worth it.

If you want to test out the current CSS while we're still here go ahead, AFAIK it's not gonna get carried over to the new website…

This banner is very cute, good job. I would have preferred the infinity logo in place of "/pokemon/" but it still works the way it is now.

I took the chance and made an improved and much shorter version of the CSS with only the values to be changed, this should be extremely easy for you to validate now… Please do so soon :)

I already hosted the images on Imgur and included their links, so just copy-paste the whole code and test away.

That just changes it for you only.

Remove it all from there and add it instead to the bottom of the page at https://8ch.net/mod.php?/settings/pokemon (see pic related).

Make a post when you're done so the changes take effect.

Based mod.

I made these earlier as "File Deleted" images, choose one and add it to the board assets page, it's the same place you changed the spoiler image from. And I noticed you used the non-transparent version of the spoiler image, if you can change it to the transparent version (pic related) that would be great.

Also I think there's a way to change the board banner with CSS, well, kind of… It will hide the current banner and display an image in its place, but the catch is that it will be only one image, it won't be able to cycle between multiple ones. So if you want to choose one banner from the ones above posted by me or the other kind anons to be used, let me know and I'll get right on it.
