The media's great at spinning this. They're calling it "a deal to send back refugees", but really the terms of the agreement are:

1. Turkey comes closer to joining the EU, and all concerns about Erdogan being an islamist are thrown off the table.

2. Turks can enter Europe without a visa (so we're getting flooded with normal migrants and Turks instead of just normal migrants now).

3. For every migrant Turkey takes back from Greece, Europe must resettle at least one migrant currently residing in Turkey (so the net number of migrants is going to stay the same).

4. Turkey gets another bribe of €3,000,000,000, supposedly to help the Syrians in Turkey but really just to make Erdogan's allies richer.

What I think is that Turkey's going to use this to send all Syrians from Turkey to the European Union.

Step 1. The Turks let a bunch of Afghans, Iranians, Pakistanis, Iraqis et cetera into their country.

Step 2. The Turks let them cross into Greece, maybe even help them do so.

Step 3. Under the current arrangement, Europe must accept one Syrian from Turkey in exchange for Turkey taking one illegal migrant back. So, every one of those migrants will be exchanged for a Syrian.

Step 4. Turkey continues sending illegals to Europe until all the Syrians in Turkey are now in Europe.

Step 5. When all Syrians are now in Europe, Turkey just sends the Afghans, Iranians, Pakistanis, Iraqis et cetera into Europe as well, what do they care?

It came as a surprise even to me, and I'm about the most pessimistic person around (see >>5446663 and >>5446700).
