The idea of it not being a conspiracy is even more worrying to me. If it's a conspiracy, there's at least a hope that the ring leaders will one day be located and shut down. What's really worrying is the possibility that this behaviour of trickery and manipulation is just inherent in some people.

I'm sorry that the state of these people's countries is so bad that they have to walk literally thousands of miles to find a safe space. At the same time, this simply is not my problem.
