Donald J. Trump came to our little corner of the globe, so I had to see him speak. I’m glad I did. I just got out of the Tucson Trump rally. My goodness, what an event it was! I'll write abit a here, to give you the flavor of it, and also to set this day to memory for myself. I do want to remember this day. The Trump rally was exciting! And fun : )
Arriving, there were a number of people in weird costumes, bright pink, or painted blue from head to toe. Turns out, they were part of a Japanese anime convention that was meeting simultaneous to the Tucson Trump rally. Stumbling past those people, gawking, I rounded a corner and the demonstrators hit like a storm. Later, from talking with one of the security people, she said that there were just two lonely demonstrators until the Black Lives Matter crowd showed up en masse. Must’ve been several hundred of them waving signs and Mexican flags, and frowning at everyone, and loudly too. I took a few pictures. Tried to get them to smile for their photos, and a couple did. Mostly they just treated me like an enemy of war. My ears are still ringing from their madly pointing fingers and megaphones and angry tones.
Other than their threats of posting my picture online, the demonstrators didn’t scare me that much, though. Just kinda got my blood moving so that I was excited about the Trump event. Some of the women in admission were obviously frightened by the angry crowd. And I must admit, the security people looked rather stressed by the demonstrators, but as for us attendees, it was okay. I did go hoarse trying to talk with a Hispanic attendee, trying to get a sense of why so many Hispanics support Donald Trump. (In a word, it’s the immigration issue. They are fed up with the de facto open borders and over-immigration, just like everyone else.), Someone else was handing out fliers on how pathetic the current Pontifex Maximus is. (I told him I probably know more dirt on that Pope than even he does). Through security, I inadvertently had left one of my favorite pocket knives in my shoulder bag - an Old Timer that has absolutely saved my bacon on several walkabout excursions.

Inside, we waited. I talked with various people. The crowd was more diverse than I expected. The Secret Service were prominent, and police were everywhere. Those Black Live Matter folks are sure costing the city alot of money in security charges. The bomb squad was out, crowd control people, military-looking people even. And I don’t blame them for being on edge. Seriously, the protesters went too far… not that anything would have stopped me or most other attendees from being there. After a while, the State's Secretary of the Treasury made his way to he podium, and introduced our Governor Jan Brewer. It was nice seeing her there. And then Sheriff Joe Arapiao came to the podium. He got a long standing ovation. Both our Governor and Sheriff Joe have been marked by our mainstream media as demons incarnate, and everyone in Arizona knows that the media machines have just shit upon them. Perhaps because of this, most people in the State honor them, especially Sheriff Joe who has become an international name for the way he has been trying to enforce our immigration laws against the wishes and legal challenges of the Obama administration. Sheriff Joe talked for abit, he is very, very popular here, and we hung on his no-nonsense words. It was almost a let-down when he walked off the podium, intending to ‘talk’ to the Black Lives Matter crowd outside.
But then Trump appeared only 15 feet from me! He energized the crowd. I’m not gonna give specifics as to his talk because it’s on video in probably a dozen places already. A speech well worth watching. You might very well see me in the background there too, taking pictures and shouting till I’m doubly-hoarse.
A number of protesters had made their way indoors, and were making so much noise it was hard to hear future-President Trump speak. Many of them were escorted out, and one of them got punched, maybe hard enough to get hurt, by a stressed-out Trump supporter. The protester who got punched just dropped to the ground. The guy who threw the punch looked like he had just come through the gauntlet of rowdy BLM demonstrators, and was ready to unleash. Well, he did. The police escorted the both of them out in handcuffs. We all saw it happen, Trump too. You could feel the crowd lonesome of it’s enthusiasm at this. Even Trump was abit disheartened by the scene. It took a few minutes, but the energetic, positive vibe wound its way back into Trump’s speech.

At another point, a large crowd of Trump protesters calling for variously Bernie and then Kasich got the attention of the secret service guys, who must’ve told them a few choice words. Idunno what they said to that crowd, but it worked, because they immediately assumed a respectful silence, while still waving their Kasich and Bernie signs.
After Trump’s speech ended, and he left, the crowd hung around abit. The energy of the room was right, and no one was in a hurry to leave. I talked with people for about 15 minutes, and then made my way through the stacks of riot-police and bomb squad and what-not, and found the security room where they had taken my pocket knife. I got it without a fuss, and then made my way to the Japanese anime convention thingy. It was like walking in wonderland.
So many cultures clashing, some violently concerned with disrupting the Trump rally, others supporting common-sense instead of the subversive facade that has infected the Democrat’s party. The myriad Trump supporters really are to diverse to be easily categorized. And afterwards, back to reality amid bunch of people walking around in kinky costumes who couldn’t have cared less if this was even a presidential election year, much less what the issues were or who was running. I love America!

Unlike the Tucson fella I don't have much to say.
White people were really nice to me. I met two families that stuck around me and had long conversations with. One in particular complimented me on how well mannered I was and how she's happy to see young people be so informed.
Any time protesters tried chanting anything the supporters would chant over them and drown them out, the protesters would wait and then the cycle would repeat. I got a kick out of the build the wall chant directed at the Mexican protesters and joined in. Overall high energy and all around good time.
