Something I remember when I was in high school, which makes more sense now than it did then: when I was taking history I was in IB classes and roughly 80-90% of what they had on the curriculum was heavily influenced by international politics. Not all that big a deal at the time, since they thought it was good for us to learn about the history of other countries, except they tended to skip out on classical stuff like Rome, and Greece. It seemed like we learned about WW2 every single year, yes complete with muh holocaust, watching endless documentaries and having to do book reports on the shoah, even outside of history class for social studies and shit like that, but while we were writing 10 page papers all the normalfags weren't even taking actual history classes, they would call them history classes, but they were more akin to more social studies garbage, most of which consisted of talking about the Civil Rights era, which I have no beef with, but when they made it the foundation of the curriculum in classes like "Current World Problems" you would see that most of it was full of blaming whitey, and always bring up Martin Luther King/Victim mentality with the occasional token LGBTBBQ thrown in for the non minorities. I sat in on a class one day that was supposedly oriented toward our state's history, but most of the time the teacher (yes he was black) kept bringing up how refrigeration, peanuts, and Egypt were wrongfully overshadowed by classical history, which we learned almost nothing about in the span of 12/13 years. IB\AP classes ARE college classes, but they aren't in the sense of making you think intelligently/critically, it's busy work and brainwashing and it shields you from the things everyone else is "learning", though its mostly talking about how uncultured the west is and garbage like that. If you were to walk away with anything good from IB it concerned writing, math, and science, the rest was just a continual feeding of WW2 history, the shoah, and if you did learn anything about actual American history it usually entailed the civil rights movement, the colonizing of america, and whatever else they could throw in to make you feel bad about being from the US. Yeah, we're asked to read a chapter here and there, or do a quiz at the end with 5 questions in the book, WITH THE ANSWERS IN THE BACK, but I can't remember the last time I experienced or saw a teacher making kids consume even half of a class' textbook. Maybe math. But History, Social Studies, Science, no. Not to mention the fact that most districts textbooks are only updated once a decade, in a cadence that isn't even even across all subjects.
How pozzed can an Astronomy textbook really be? Are we only worried about history and social studies books? I think American schools are too cheap and lazy for this to be a valid attack on culture.
