I doubt this will work in all that many places.
It would be way too easy for people to tamper with or steal the food, so most customers that have any sense will prefer having one person who can be held accountable deliver it in a hot bag rather than a robot that is exposed to the elements and any random person who comes their way.
Also, I think that once people see these things in the wild, it will finally hit them that the robots are coming for their jobs. For too many, that prospect is still thought of in the abstract. Once that happens, I could easily see large-scale vandalism and destruction of these robots by the poor, the frustrated unemployed, the teenagers and hoods with more time and energy than they know what to do with, and by the concerned Luddites.
While the public has been indoctrinated into believing that robots will inevitably replace everything and everyone, the truth of the matter is that this is a political and community choice. The continuing hollowing out of America to robot labor can be slowed if not largely halted through individual and occmunity actions such as widespread boycotts of businesses or destruction of the robots, as well as public policy that heavily disincentivises the replacement of humans for robots.
The rise of the robots can be mitigated, if America and other countries around the world have the courage and the drive to trade some minimal comfort and novelty for the long term security of their communities.
