Michelle Fields, Ben Shapiro Resign From Breitbart

Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields and editor-at-large Ben Shapiro are resigning from the company over the site’s handling of Donald Trump’s campaign manager’s alleged assault on Fields, BuzzFeed News has learned.

Fields and Shapiro informed Breitbart News chairman Steve Bannon of their decision Sunday night.

If anyone was ever in doubt of Ben Shapiro, they should read his attempted takedown of Pat Buchanan 4 years ago.

>Now, Pat Buchanan has long been an anti-Semite. His repulsive publication, The American Conservative, is an isolationist tract featuring the writings of magazine co-founder and open Jew-hater Taki Theodoracopulos, who calls himself a “soi-disant antisemite.” He once characterized Lehman Brothers CEO Richard Fuld as a “very homely, simian-looking Jew who couldn’t punch his way out of a nursery,” and remarked that the United States was in danger of becoming “Israel-occupied territory,” meaning that it would be controlled by “those nice guys who attack rock-throwing youth with armour-piercing missiles.” Said Theodoracopulos, “the way to Uncle Sam’s heart runs through Tel Aviv and Israeli-occupied territory.”

>Buchanan himself is little better. He has engaged in Holocaust denial, stating that diesel exhaust couldn’t have killed 850,000 Jews at Treblinka; he’s criticized the U.S. government for its apology for sheltering Nazi war criminal John Demjanjuk. William F. Buckley wrote of Buchanan: ”I find it impossible to defend Pat Buchanan against the charge that what he did and said during the period under examination amounted to anti-Semitism.” As White House Communications Director, Buchanan urged President Reagan to visit the SS cemetery at Bitburg in Germany, providing an excellent photo-op for neo-Nazis everywhere. According to reports from the time, Buchanan had the unmitigated gall to lecture Jewish leaders who protested that they were “Americans first” and wrote over and over in his notebook one phrase: “Succumbing to the pressure of the Jews.” He wrote Reagan’s line that the SS officers were “victims just as surely as the victims in the concentration camps” – easily one of the most sickening presidential lines in American history. Buchanan wanted the Department of Justice’s Office of Special Investigations closed down because it was “running down 70-year-old camp guards.”

>Buchanan has frequently echoed Taki’s language. In 1990, he called Washington D.C. “Israeli-occupied territory.” Before the first Gulf War, Buchanan spoke in eerily similar language to his latest attacks on Israel regarding Iran: “There are only two groups that are beating the drums for war in the Middle East – the Israeli defense ministry and its ‘amen corner’ in the United States.” You have to hand it to Buchanan – he’s never always perfectly consistent in despising the Jewish State. In 2008, he wrote, “Israel and its Fifth Column in this city seek to stampede us into war with Iran.” In 2004, he wrote, “America needs a Middle East policy made in the USA, not in Tel Aviv, or at AIPAC or AEI” – yet another reference to the sick notion that the Jews control U.S. government. In 2003, he wrote, “Who would benefit from a war of civilizations between the West and Islam? Answer: one nation, one leader, one party. Israel, Sharon, Likud.”

I find it funny that Ben Shapiro, a Jewish neocon, happens to be in disagreement with the pro-Jewish neocon crowd that he works for. I never really understood that guy.

Shapiro is also making a tactical mistake here. He is putting the resignation of Fields at the center of it. Instead, he should mention it, but focused on the fact that he felt growing ideological differences with the publication and where they were going in their coverage of Donald Trump.

Donald Trump made kind of a similar mistake when he boycotted the Fox Debate. He kept making it about Megyn Kelly, instead of making it about bad questions and what he perceived to be network bias.

Shapiro is more obsessed with every facet of being Jewish than even most neo-cons, but he is also more genuinely conservative than some of them in that he's a small government guy.

I don't even think he's a bad guy personally, he's just caught up in his cult's view of the world, where they are forever the blameless victims and the goyim lurk around every corner ready to herd them into cattle cars and ship them off to gas chambers.

It's good to see at least one nominally right wing media outlet not falling to entryists.

In this case, it was leftists who ended up resigning from Breitbart. And Breitbart has always been the most pro-Trump of all the larger news outlets.

It's good to see someone finally striking back.

>Michelle Fields, Ben Shapiro Resign From Breitbart

I can see why they did it. (if the stated reasons are the actual reasons)

If a news org hung me out to dry so they could keep the support of Trump, I'd be pissed too.

Ben Shapiro was the last decent Breitbart contributor apart from AWR Hawkins. From now on I'll probably stick to that news site the John Birch Society runs, The New American. Delingpole's unreal tantrum over Jeremy Clarkson being tepidly for GB staying in the EU was profoundly pathetic, it even featured a clickbaity headline more suitable for /n/ than an actual news site. 'Salon for the right' was a fun notion and it even worked for a while but the older I get the more I want to get my news from people who don't write like they're hormonal.

Have you been following it? Fields was completely full of it, and Breitbart even fired another writer for saying commonsense things about the incident on Twitter.

Howley got his job back

I heard about the chick getting assaulted. It's been back and forth since then. I think if it happened at any other than a Trump rally, it wouldn't be such a big issue.

I just want to see concrete evidence either way of the incident.

I hadn't even heard about the other person being fired though.

>Two other Breitbart staffers have resigned.

Looks like Breitbart is starting to collapse. Ah well, I didn't pay them much attention anyways.

Check out the video, it was absolutely nothing.

If this were assault, then I have been assaulted dozens if not hundreds of times in my life, and have also assaulted others a similar amount at crowded events.

Some women simply bruise very easily. She has a history of making false claims of abuse.

The media has dug their own grave. All we've heard is how Trump is Hitler, Trump supporters are losers that masturbate to anime, Trump spreads hate, Trump wants to put all the brown people in camps with boxcars, Trump hires thugs and goons,Trump has re-ignited gamergate, and so on and so forth.

Is it any wonder people don't trust the media to report about this candidate? It would be like people calling Bernie Sanders Karl Marx reincarnated or saying he wants to start the Holodomor again but for white Americans. It'd be laughed at as a conspiracy theory, but because the media desperately hates Trump, it's not.

You can hate Trump if you want, it's no skin of my nose, but at least report the facts properly.

If that's indeed the whole incident it's absolutely bullshit I agree.

If there's more before or after the video, I don't know...

As the law goes, if someone touches you without your permission for any reason, it's assault (or battery) if you want it to be. So if she sues, it'll be up to her to prove it was an attempt to harm her.
