We all know at least a dozen ways of getting different ID without even being inside of a city with several dozen access points within 10 minutes of our residences.

They are useless and only increase chaos by those with VPNs.

Yes, it's easy for some people to get new IDs effortlessly. Does this make IDs useless? No. This a politics board, users tend to argue more than comment and leave, most arguments last for more than one exchange, disabling the IDs would fragment the arguments and conversations.

>increase chaos

how?

f345d8 No.13384

I like IDs. I have a VPN, but I really only use it for ban evasion.

I've never used it to try to make myself out to be multiple people in a thread, and anytime it auto switches my IP for whatever reason I will point out that I am still the same person, just so I don't give the impression of being a shill. I even flat out admit I'm ban evading and that's the reason I'm even using a proxy.

I use IDs to scroll through a thread to see what kind of poster someone is in a thread. In my opinion they really help to distinguish shitposters and shills from legitimate posters(not a 100% of the time, or even 80% of the time, but enough of the time where I do use IDs when I'm jumping into a thread late in the conversation.)

I like IDs.

Or rather, I should say, I like thread specific IDs, not board wide IDs. Those are shit.

Post from Tor if you want, I know it is only a mildly relevant solution to the problems you point out.

IDs do what they do, no more, no less.
