I think it's a country (and this is from a mixed bag of me just remembering things I've read about it in learned books) that is going through growing pains. Every anon should keep their eyes on India, supposedly they are going to be one of the next big super powers.

Considering the split between more conservative and even moderate elements in the country, I wouldn't be surprised if there were secession movements to start up particularly in the Sikh-dominated region.

I think India may be the best place for some sort of Dystopian caste based judge system.
The country is getting richer, but not all of it, and it's filled with crippling poverty and designated shitting.
I could imagine that an India of, say 2040, is a collection of Megacities with central walled districts for the highest castes like Brahmins, and then outer districts for lower castes who like to shit everywhere, and are brutally policed by Hindi nationalist fascist tuffs who designate the correct shitting streets, and then outside the city altogether live the untouchables who live in third world conditions and farm from the poop that gets shoveled off the streets by automated machines and comes out the city sewage.

Sikhs are pretty cool, Northern and Southern India are developing quickly. Middle India is where most of the problems are. Indian food is pretty good but Indians always smell like it. Good for cheap medical work and drugs, most of it's /tech/ industry sucks, but there are a lot of people who actually know what they're doing. They have some pretty amazing research going on, especially in the electrical engineering and medical fields. They created a Zika vaccine about 9 months ago.
Imo they're either going to balkanize or become a regional super power in the next 10-20 years. Still no where near Russia or China, but a lot more powerful than they are now. This is assuming they don't go to war with China or Pakistan over territorial/cultural disputes.

Fascinating culture worthy of preservationthat might breed a lot of good ideas in the future as it did in the past, but an absolutely brutal world to live in one of its way too fast growing slums and riddled by social problems which disrupt its social peace.
