cc5524 No.5499

Why are people so reluctant to hide threads on subjects they don't like?

Why do they have to complain and demand the thread be removed or not made?

This isn't talking of spam or anything, I'm talking about people demanding discussion of certain subjects not be allowed.

8e26cf No.5502

Because they're really just SJWs who have tgeir own set of triggers.

3b72fb No.5505

Of what places are you talking? I ignore Undertale threads, the communism thread and all of /operate/.

1a2ea0 No.5542

>people demanding discussion of certain subjects not be allowed

which subjects are those?

1a2ea0 No.5543

>>5542

if you mean non-political subjects:

this is a ###politics### board; only politics belongs here

cc5524 No.5547

>>5542

>which subjects are those?

I'm speaking in general.

On /v/ you'll see people that don't want certain games being discussed, instead of starting that argument they could just hide the thread.

1a2ea0 No.5554

>>5547

No, I mean which subjects have people demanded that about?

I don't understand it either. Back when I used to browse /pol/, I'd just look through the catalog and ignore any threads that didn't interest me. Took me literally two seconds to decide whether I want to browse a thread or ignore it. I never reported a single post in my entire life.

Some people are just born SJWs. Particularly the redditors who infest 8/pol/ since December last year.

1a2ea0 No.5557

And screenshot or link the posts

I haven't seen anyone do that

>rulecuck

Nope, politics and news. Politics is also a very general term that cover many subjects. Also a bit of off-topic threads in every board is healthy.

Fixed

Its usually a vocal minority that have nothing better to do than hating on a topic for no reason. Usually, shit threads and topics no one gives a shit about fizzle out by themselves. Most restrictions are either due to the general topic or purely cultural decisions. Latter is especially true for /a/.

000000 No.5611

>>5562

My god, will you get off that boogeyman. /pol/ isn't swarming with stormfags your favorite buzzword.

It's 2015,, free speech and open discussion are so enlightenment era.. Do you want to live in 1700's. Come on, it's the current year.

I believe it to be a lack of people actually using the catalog. For awhile I didn't really get why people kept posting chaika on the front page until I realized they weren't using the catalog and were instead just scrolling down threads.

>>5611

Yes it is.

3b356b No.5927

Cultural authoritarians, be they left or right wing, insist on making safe spaces for themselves at the expense of other people. The worst kind of people.

>>5621

>say nigger with black friends all the time

>none of them ever give me shit

Might help that I'm a paki, but still, white people seem more offended by it's usage than black people. What gives?

adf0e2 No.5933

>>5927

>Might help that I'm a paki

yup, niggers don't mind when other niggers use it

8a0942 No.5950

Okay, I think I have an idea. It seems that many in the whole GamerGate thing went to /pol/ when they were not normal /pol/ posters. I was posting on /pol/ way back during the "glory days" of 4chan. It was always filled with "stormfags" and people making racist jokes.

/pol/ has always been a far-right broad. Always. If you don't like the threads there, not post. It was GamerGate that got triggered by /pol/ because most of them were posting on /v/, and when the moderation got really heavy handed, they went to /pol/.

Simple as that.

bcc0e8 No.5956

>>5950

>It was always filled with "stormfags" and people making racist jokes.

Sure. But I remember /pol/ actually debunking libetards when they made stupid arguments, and not just throwing the same two dozen prepared infographics and copypastas (with multiple easy to point out errors) at them, or just ignoring his arguments altogether and just calling him a JIDF shill / beaner / ahmed.

07f546 No.5990

The answer should never be to delete threads you don't like but to instead post more threads you do like. One doesn't require effort beyond bitching and the other requires significantly more effort, so of course you see one argument more than the other.

000000 No.6267

>>5499

>Why are people so reluctant to hide threads on subjects they don't like?

Because humans want to keep their environments up to certain standards. If people wanted /b/ they would browse /b/.

As a result they may occasionally act to have something stamped out and in a way that hurts you in the feelings.

e2c8ed No.6268

>>5499

Because people are lazy and they don't want to argue their position, so it's easier for them to just demand censorship.

000000 No.6269

>>5956

>I remember /pol/ actually debunking libetards when they made stupid arguments,

When the same stupid argument has to be refuted for the 10,000th time people tend to have become a bit weary and not really feeling like tediously typing out a long counter argument only for it to be ignored by the one they try to argue with. Hence the pasta and caps.

4e15e7 No.6298

>>6269

"appeal to authority"

You produce cited infographics if you don't like debunking bad arguments, and if people find legitimate flaws by which to dismantle those infographics, the burden is upon you.

I actually used to sympathize with stormfags until the 2nd exodus. I remember using "JIDF pls" quite often, albeit ironically, back on 4chan when people were ranting about stormies.

The 2nd exodus and what it turned 8/pol/ into made me dislike them. Dissenting opinion? JIDF SHILL GET OUT! - thread derailed. Post a normal anime reaction image? WEEB FAGGOT GO BACK TO /a/! - thread derailed. Make a traditional WIYFTAWDYHK thread? DEGENERATE BACK TO /jp/! - board derailed.

They are complete newfags and horrible posters who hate freedom of speech. I do not like them and I wish they would leave again. And I am a traditionalist and nationalist myself, so it's not like I disdain them for ideological reasons. They simply ruined /pol/ for me.

01f5e0 No.6318

Can we just have a thread about Natalia?

>being a traditionalist and nationalist

>liking nipponese degenerate scribbles

nice cognitive dissonance you got there

regardless I agree with what you said, and I'm on the same boat
