Humanity is growing at an exponential rate. We are making very little progress in the science required to colonize other planets, and even if we manage to do so, moving millions of humans to said planets is not immediately feasible.

Everyone ignores this. Everyone pretends that there's going to be enough for 10 or even 15 billion humans to live on this planet. Everyone pretends that we're all just going to magically produce more food and energy. Well we are, but it will not be enough to keep up with population growth.

The trigger of the next conflict will be irrelevant. Politics, race, religion, who cares? Literally millions will die and suffer. Various factions will fight not because of a lack of resources, but because of a wish to secure more of it for their own side.Do not think that being in a developed nation will save you, on the contrary, you will experience the largest drop in living standards. The average western person is soft, weak and fragile, don't lie to yourself, you know it's true. The people of poor countries will be hit hard, but they will extremely resilient. The people of middle-tier countries will probably be the most resilient.

Blame the jews, globalists, capitalists or your preferred boogeyman, but in the end this suffering will have a simple root: We are like boars in a forest without wolves.

Stop feeding niggers in Africa and Asia, and we wouldn't have this issue.

2f0a4b No.5959

Naw, we just find more ways to feed ourselves and cramp these cities up dystopia style.

We havnt even maxed out the possibilities of soylent green-tier nourishment policies and farming insects like the chinese do.

However.

If things would go well (they arent) and countries all over the world get more affluent, people will make less childs by themselves, so we might actually just decrease our populations naturally and live more comfy.

Just look at japan, china or europe 8Albeit the latter decided just to replace itself with africa, so birthrates will rise there soon again).

Also stop feeding africans with foreign aid would do wonders to them learning how to ration their stuff.

Overpopulation is not that much of a problem as you think.

Overpopulation doesn't exist outside the slums of Bangladesh and Nigeria. We will reach the peak sometime mid-century.

%40 of those are in africa

The earth has enough resources for 75 billion people thanks to agriculture

NASA has just put up listings for Mars mission astronauts.

You dont need a magnetosphere to terraform mars because if earth had no magnetosphere it would take 4 billion years for solar winds to blow the atmosphere away. We'll have it finished by the year 2500 for sure.

The sad part is the technology has been there since the 70s.

If any of my friends become politicians, I'll be sure to shill space colonization/asteroid mining.

Unfortunately the USA is part of an agreement to not colonize space at the moment. As well as virtually every other governmental entity who has a space program.

Corporations are exempt from this

That is because corporations are the new world government. Just look at the TPP and it's ilk.

I have this fine video that wraps up the entire thing.

Are you still with me? Good. The overpopulation hypothesis has been around since around 1798. Since Malthus has postulated it, the catastrophe has been postponed over and over and over again. It never came and when it came it wasn't a great hunger but a ordinary resource contraction.

All claims about wars due to overpopulation ignore multiple factors. First, peoples that are well off tend to have a lower birthrate. By the looks of it and general psychology considered, this is a feature not a bug. What this means is, the world population is in fact shrinking. Second, overpopulation is often a euphemism for poverty, that temps most people into missing the actual point of everything concerning population and immigration. This actual point is that the key to get out is other people solving their homelands' actual problems. Typical poverty migration is about seeking easy to get shit but I digress. Another element that plays into this debate is the millenia old argument about country vs city life. Some people may come and point out all the villages that get dissolved in the West. Again, a fear reaction to ghost villages may be sensible but its totally exaggerated when you keep in mind that the country side lost its economic foundation; Agriculture. Farming can't employ as many people as it used to since machinery and social technology got better. Sometimes farms are kept alive artificially by leftovers of early social democracy.

What Op is actually talking about is a resource contraction that will hit everyone at once. The funny thing about it is, that it will come regardless of how fast the populations grows simply because all the ponzi schemes can't kept up.

>moving millions of people

Few millions over a large period of time. They will know how to breed there too.

a124c1 No.6190

>>6185

I don't think that people will simply die out entirely. We might go down to 30% or even 20% of current population in the next century, but religious people still exist and will breed.

>We are making very little progress in the science required to colonize other planets,

We have the technology already, the problem is the leaders of the world all either don't have the money(Africa, other third world places), are anti science/only care about a particular cause(Muslim world, Communists) or are loyal only to their donars(USA).

d79020 No.6216

We have the technology. I think that our exposure to these forms of extended preservation is slowly and methodically being released... Think NASA and space-based revelations. Our channel of information is controlled.

skylon is going to cut costs to orbit by 90% within the next 30 years. Costs to orbit will go from the object's weight in gold to about 10x air mail fees.

From there, things should get interesting.

>Tardass Malformed

Because resources and population are not equally distributed around the world,

overpopulation will never be a global scale problem as he postulated. Excess population in areas where resources are scarce will simply starve off as they have always done.

Also, congratulations to OP on finally realizing that people compete for resources. Mind telling us what led you to this startling, groundbreaking conclusion?

Overpop is mankind's most pressing issue. The planet could indefinitely sustain ~500 million people if it were pristine... but it isn't pristine.

This is gonna cause huge problems, and draconian measures to address. No shit. This is serious

058f82 No.6500

>>6489

Yes NS anon, Economics is a very serious field. However, mankind is going to shrink due to a resource contraction not overpopulation. This is what you should pay attention to.

c55833 No.6512

So what?

>oh my god anon, muh humanity, not everyone has the possibility of living like a middle class american, the horror!

Can I say it?

I know everybody is thinking it, but nobody is saying it, so can I say it?

I don't care

There, I said it, I don't.

It doesn't matter to me that a niglet in afirca is dying of thirst. It's not that I lack human empathy, it's more a tree falling in the amazonian forest and nobody caring for it.

The natural hierarchy is simple, first I provide for myself, then I provide for my family, then I provide for my ethnic group, then I provide for my racial stock, and only afterwards should I be animated by ideals like feeding 7 bilion people.

We're going to be fine, there's little of us and we have somewhat relevant power, as long as we get over being faggots like OP and stop trying to save everyone and everything, it's gonna work out.

5e5d89 No.6529

When the population reaches critical mass a plague wipes out about a third of it on average. The problem is we've gotten pretty good at fighting plagues, but it's still just a matter of time until the next one and it's likely to be a much nastier scenario than we've ever dealt with, simply because of the population density and ease of travel between populations. A man boards a flight with a brand new virus that's just jumped to our species. This individual has a partial immunity to the virus giving it a longer than average incubation period in his case. On average this virus incubates and kills within 12 to 24 hours. It like a h1n1 avian flu mutation of the 1918 pandemic actually causes the immune system to go haywire and kill it's host, only more so. Thus primarily killing people between the ages of 12 to 40. Basically it wipes out the breeders. This scenario is more likely than you would imagine. Some scientists is probably actually trying to coax the bloody thing into existence to "save the planet" as we speak. The virus would likely use the same exploit as the bubonic plague and hiv, receptor wise. This means some Europeans and specifically Jews would have full to partial immunity. Yes, some Jews are immune to aids. I bet that freaks /pol/ right the fuck out. Anyway that would make it particularly safe for some scientists to play with. A crazy Jewish or Nordic scientist. The Norse also have a high frequency of this mutation. It's not advertised for obvious reasons.

http://drakenberg.weebly.com/ccr5-delta-32.html

Most papers discussing it try to disguise the fact we are talking about Jews or hide it deep within the work. People are really afraid to offend. Even when the subject is "why are so many Jews immune to hiv" and the answer being "because at some point they fucked the Norse" or perhaps vise versa. Doesn't matter. Point is somewhere someone is probably working to solve the problem, and it's probably a Jew.

I'm Jewish. I can say this.
