>Then why are pills, drugs, and depression through the roof? Why is everyone always mad at one another? Why are women, though their standards of living have drastically increased, more bitter and unfulfilled than ever.
Prove we are more unhappy than ever. Frankly, if you are, you are extremely ungrateful and should probably commit suicide. People have more safety, wealth, and opportunity than at any time in history. Even with poverty still in existence, it's nothing like it used to be.
>People want something to strive for. If they don't they realise how pointless life is, and that pure hedonism does not make for a fulfilling life.
But that's not the system, that's you. You could have a fulfilling life now if you wanted, but you don't have the abilities needed to achieve it, and you wouldn't have in times past either.
Most of the people telling us about the lack of meaning in modern life, would have been serfs doing back breaking labor in the distant past, and would have a good chance of not even making it that far, because they died in early childhood. That's why people had so many kids.
Just look at Africa. Modern Africa is like Europe 1000BC, only with less AKs. Does that sound fulfilling? You aren't going to be a noble or a great warrior of legend, anymore than you are likely to be a CEO or a world renowned scientist now. You are going to be an average joe, only things suck a lot more for you.
>Granny on death bed: I took enough cock to wrap around Jupiter and aborted all my children, hence no grandchildren, and now I'm stuck in this smelly death home alone to rot.
That's her fault. Plenty of people don't do that now, plenty of people have grandkids, and with the care home, you are basically complaining that people are living too long.
>The thing that gets people is they don't know how to fix it, or feel powerless.
These same people would feel powerless back in 1800 or 1200 or even BC years, only they'd be a lot more religious because they wouldn't have an all encompassing state to protect them, and enforce property rights against barbarians so that capitalism can work for them, or funnel tax funds to them if they are NEETs.
The weak will always be weak, and they will always suffer what they must. What is different now, is that they have to suffer a lot less. They actually get to survive and grow in number so that we can hear them blame the lack of meaning in their own lives on modern prosperity.
Then create some meaning you fucks! This is why reactionary people are usually the exact degenerates and weaklings they complain about. Why Nazi forums can rub shoulders with furry ones on a board filled with unemployed losers who in a past time wouldn't have lasted long at all.
>It's a horrible time for a women to be alive. They are oppressed more than ever! Once you are trained to see the micro-aggressions they are clear as day!
And feminists are the same. The more things get better, the more weak people whinge about little tiny teeny weeny hardships they have to suffer, because they actually get time to philosophize and blog about it, rather than shutting up and getting on with surviving.
That's not the fault of modern society. That's the fault of weak people being pathetic. It's not the fault of the rest of us that you are empty and without achievement.
>They were both pretty terrible. Why is this the best 'Murrica has?
Terrible by modern standards, but take a look back into history without the rosy glasses on.
