Truth be told, the moderation *is* fucking horrible and seems to be getting worse/more arbitrarily restrictive with each passing further week. It's one of the main reasons i rarely make threads anymore on 8/pol/ these days, because it just sucks and you always run the risk of some autistic modsperg bumplocking/deleting your thread + shadowbanning you for no tangible reason just because he can. There's a certain point where the reasons for not adding content to a particular board outweigh the reasons for spending your time doing it in the first place, and 8/pol/ right now has passed that point some time ago

The bumplocks and deletions are pissing me off too. The mods should be switched out on a regular basis to avoid this shit.

I find it funny that they seem to take place on a 24/7 basis too, like there's constantly some recently bumplocked thread to be found within the first 5-10 pages or so of the catalog at any given time of the day

Switching them is no solution. You get a good one or two and stick with them. Look at /r/european on plebbit. Head mod is polack and ha's kept that sub based as fuck since forever. They have completer transparency there. They leave a comment after every removal they make stating why it was removed. All bans are announced and kept log of so anyone can see who was banned and for what reason.

There's transparency and that is the key. That combined with a top mod who values the community make all the difference.

It's sad really that I've gone from being 100 % on pol to spending less than 20 % of my time here and 80 % on /r/european on reddit. Goes to show how shit things have gotten here and fast.

I suggest you check the sub out. They resently also launched /r/northamerican with the same people.

This shit happens all the time. A couple weeks ago there was a thread about Weev printing daily stormer flyers to tens of thousands of printers on the internet. It has resulted in a FBI investigation, and investigations by multiple campus police agencies. What did the mods do? They bump locked the thread, and then when called out on their fuckery, they stickied the thread and then proceeded to spurg out and got it post locked within about 30 minutes. They hopped around different VPN servers so they could have different poster ids and not make it as blatant but they have definetly been co-opted. Between kikewheel's broken as fuck code, and our shitty mods, we desperately need a new chan.

Should we post this in /pol/ to spread awareness of this?

People need to know why 8Chan is shit, and so will search for a solution.

It seems that whatever autist is moderating cuck/pol/ right now is hellbent on driving as many posters away and supressing as much content as humanly possible.

There really is no other explanation for this kind of behaviour.

What this guy is pulling off is not being a "mod" in the traditional sense of the word, it's just raging autism in the form of constant uncalled-for shadowbanning and bumplockery of posted content which no person in his right mind would ever decide to sanction.

I mean, the mods on 4cuck have been bad in the past but still nowhere as bad and at the same time obsessed with persecuting their own userbase as the ones on cucked/pol/ right now.

Does 8chan even support shadow banning, or are you just mis-using the term? From my understanding it came from reddit, and involves posts that show up for the OP but not anyone else. Do you have any proofs? Its the first i've heard of it. And considering this imageboard software is open source it would be easy to prove - https://github.com/ctrlcctrlv/infinity.

What i mean by "shadow-banning" is that there's no public ban message attached to the post itself, and it's not getting deleted either. Regardless of this, it still shows up as a regular ban for the poster in question, see also here >>10471

I guess another good term would be "non-listed" or "non-public" ban or something of the sort though…

But i honestly don't really care if it fits the definition that originated from reddit 100%, it's a well-fitting term in my opinion because this ban method also essentially amounts to a covert ban which is unjustified in most if not all cases, just like with the original shadow bans on reddit.
