Why did /pol/ fall in ranking? Is /v/ getting more users or are we losing them?

d25106 No.5144

/v/ has always been more active than /pol/. The /pol/ user count is bloated thanks to all the shills with proxies.

This and because we lost five pages of the board ever since HW limited it to just 25. The system only counts IP's that posted in the last three days.

/v/ was always more popular than us. /pol/ is comparable to /gamergate/ in terms of userbase and activity I'd say.

>>The system only counts IP's that posted in the last three days.

Not only that; an IP is only counted if it has at least one post on the board.

/v/ has more activity and a lower page count, meaning threads are more likely to be pushed off the board. This gives the illusion of v having lower numbers.

/pol/ is becoming more and more exclusionary in favor of moderation and moving away from dank memes towards being 100% serious 100% of the time.

Simply put, /pol/ and /v/ have always had similar numbers, but now people from /pol/ would rather browse >>>/christian/ or >>>/k/ where they can have a mix of serious discussion and funposting.

Combined with some folks moving over to polpol or other boards, and you naturally see a drop in ranking. If the moseration keeps it up, we might drop more if an alternative becomes available (maybe something like a "pol memes and shitposting" board).

Obviously this is also true.

Polite sage.

d458e9 No.5194

/pol/ has lost over 7000 posts a day in two months

its because of the mods

8/pol/ isn't fun.

It's a bunch of autists sperging out about shills and trolls encouraging their paranoia.

8/pol/ is Reddit tier.

can you make a board for collecting these, call it /polcow/ or something

these guys are a fucking riot

I think this is an example of whats wrong. Let the anons sort it with some discussion instead of bringing in mod power to shut it down.

It's real.
It was subsequently adjusted to a 2-hour ban, and then expired and fell off.

718e00 No.5262

>>5254

ahh, okay.

we shouldn't be banning for things like that imo. The whole point of having mods is to keep the board useable and functional, not to enforce our own ideologies.

544b65 No.5267

>>5262
Of course you shouldn't. Also, I assume that the ban was set by the same retarded mod that deleted the military thread from yesterday, and probably the same mod who banned Smiley. So the question is: where the fuck is the board owner and why hasn't he removed the retarded vol yet?

He was wrong about the former, but not the latter.

Fuck off, /fringe/ shill.

I actually don't know who deletes what; since the mod usernames aren't enabled, only the board owner can see our names in the log. sorry ;_;

"no"

>>5278
It's pretty easy to tell. The board owner didn't make the bans, you didn't make the bans, the newfag volunteer didn't make the bans (since he always writes at least two lines in the ban message). Who does that leave?

718e00 No.5293

>>5288

that still leaves like 3 people

I could just ask board owner, I suppose

153d1a No.5300

>>5296

But that's a good thing. Normalfags belong on leddit, facebook and other shitty bluepilled websites.

1835aa No.5310

>>5138

The reality is people are leaving for various reasons. I stopped using the board recently because it isn't fun anymore and people keep shitposting in happening threads. Also whether you think it's shills, or shitposters, or volunteers, or whatever there's too much PSYOPs going on for me to bother anymore. I guess that's what they'd want, but I can't anymore.
