9f8067 No.10678

So I posted this topic on /pol/ and they lost their shit, because the thread had pics of Rand Paul's wife. Whatever.

However, in light of the recent event where a cop shot a thug in the back, what do you guys think about the ATF proposing to stop excluding some types of AR-15 ammo from armor piercing provisions under existing law?

Is anyone going to stand up for this ban now? How do we use the coming shitstorm to get that ban permanently defeated?

Non-ap intermediate and full-size rifle rounds still cut right through all manner of kevlar, and beat cops dont wear plates.

If you want to fight a ban on those grounds, get AP handgun ammo unbanned.

This.
I cant think of any rifle cartridges from 5.56 and more powerful with solid steel core bullet that cant cut through typical lvl III non steel armor at less than 50 m.
Which will be the range you will fire upon those cops in an event of uprising.

It's not that it's "armor piercing", it's that green tip is some of the most plentiful 5.56 ammo around, and the AR is the biggest combat-usable rifles found in America. They've failed to make the american man helpless by banning his firearms, so they're going after the ammunition instead. Prices gouged and went crazy even before the initial ban was proposed and overruled, the ban passing would mean a lot of people running dry.

This guy gets it, they couldn't ban the AR so the next best thing is to ban the ammo.

On a side note, the ATF tried to classify green tip as pistol ammo because people started making "pistol build" ARs to skirt around the SBR tax stamp. If you want to have a rifle with a barrel less than 16" you need to get a $200 tax stamp and register it with the ATF. People skirted this by building pick related because technically you don't shoulder the.stock so it's a "pistol". If you really want to overturn a backwards ass law that has caused nothing but headaches, go after the NFA bullshit. SBRs suppressors and full autos for everyone.

Sorry forgot pic for the pic related

Agreed.

We know why that's why they are trying to ban it.

They are just trying to sell it to the public in a guide to "protect the cops."

Well, if the public says, "fuck the cops, then maybe the ammo ban won't stand."

Has something changed in the last month?
They already said they aren't going to re-classify it.

It got killed, so I don't have opinion on it other than generic disagreement. I sort of suspect they drafted the law knowing it would fail, because it would still cause a panic. This raises prices across the market and makes having useable firearms more cost prohibitive for average citizens.

It didn't get killed. It got shelved. The ATF will be revisiting this.

So the ban proposal is happening all over again?

They did the same shit with 7n6 and nobody cared.
I think they tested the water with that ban then figured since they got away with that they'd try for M855. The NRA stepping in is what put a stop to it this time.

Somebody please notify the police, they see to have missed this fact

We shouldn't be accepting any ban, but 5.45 isn't a popular american caliber, AK-74's and associated weapons that use the round are almost all Russian, and rather rare, and almost no American companies manufacture 5.45 or weapons designed to use them. It's not nearly as important a ban (although still quite tragic), in comparison to the green tip ban, and if the NRA and associated groups have limited manpower, I could see why they would focus on other laws instead of that import ban. Also because they're focused only on american companies like cunts.
