Forgot too label the dates, and I guess I should've summarized but from the titles alone (which are listed in descending order from oldest to newest) you can clearly see escalation too a ground war.

The conflict has spilled over into Saudi Arabia, US shows it's true colours for it's citizens trapped in this growing conflict, Iran tries too descalate but Saudi Arabia is the aggressor and is continuing the escalation, Russia is stepping up too back Iran, and Saudi Arabia is gearing up for a full invasion.

Greenlight for watching Yemen again cause the Happening is back on the table.

This is also why other sources too confirm this stuff would be appreciated.

New Yemen VP says he hopes to avert Saudi invasion

"However, there is no sign of compromise on either side.

A senior Houthi official told Reuters he rejected the prospect that Hadi could return to the country, accusing him of "treason".

Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Houthi movement's politburo, added that the Saudi-led bombing campaign against the must stop "immediately and without any conditions".

In a further sign of political breakdown, United Nations envoy to Yemen Jamal Benomar announced his resignation. The veteran Moroccan diplomat had helped broker the transition plan under which Hadi replaced Saleh three years ago."

Ground Forces Seen Joining Bloody War In Yemen
http://www.buzzfeed.com/gregorydjohnsen/ground-forces-seen-joining-bloody-war-in-yemen#.xpgDbML7l

"Hundreds of miles north, Saudi Arabia has also moved equipment and troops, including Pakistani soldiers, near its southern border with Yemen in advance of a possible ground invasion. But the territory in the north, particularly in Sadah where the Huthis are based, is much more rugged with steep mountains and deep valleys. The Huthis have already fought and survived six wars over the past decade across topography that often puts conventional troops at a disadvantage against hardened guerrilla fighters.
Another possible insertion point could be Yemen’s lengthy southern coast. But al-Mukalla, another major port city, is currently under the control of Yemen’s al-Qaeda branch. Yemen’s western coast along the Red Sea presents similar problems.
Along with the militias in the south, there are also tribes in Marib, a desert province east of the capital of Sanaa, who might form natural allies. But these tribes tend to be more anti-Huthi than they are pro-Saudi."

Iran is openly sending a fleet of ships – some armed – to Yemen, which Saudi Arabia has blockaded.
http://thehill.com/policy/defense/239295-us-officials-concerned-about-iranian-convoy-headed-towards-yemen

>Iran is sending an armada of seven to nine ships — some with weapons — toward Yemen in a potential attempt to resupply the Shia Houthi rebels, according to two U.S. defense officials.

>Iran sent a destroyer and another vessel to waters near Yemen last week but said it was part of a routine counter-piracy mission.

>What's unusual about the new deployment, which set out this week, is that the Iranians are not trying to conceal it, officials said. Instead, they appear to be trying to "communicate it" to the U.S. and its allies in the Gulf.

Some stuff on the US presence from the same article:
>Although the U.S. is assisting with the Saudi-led air campaign, it is not participating in the naval blockade of Yemen, said U.S. Central Command spokesman Col. Pat Ryder.

>However, the U.S. Navy is in the region and has already "consensually boarded" one Panamanian-flagged ship in the Red Sea on April 1 on the suspicion it was illegally carrying arms for the Houthis.

>None were found, but the move raised alarm bells in Washington over an increasingly active U.S. military role in the conflict. The Pentagon indicated this week that more boardings could occur.

>"We will continue to vigilantly defend freedom of navigation and to conduct consensual searches in an effort to ensure that drugs, human trafficking, weapons trafficking and other contraband are limited," Army Col. Steve Warren said on Monday.

Saudi-led Coalition Declares End to Yemen Campaign

http://sputniknews.com/middleeast/20150421/1021191902.html

>The Saudi-led coalition will now begin a new phase, titled 'Operation Restoring Hope', according to the statement of the Saudi defense ministry.

>Saudi-led coalition operations in Yemen are now entering a new phase, which will focus on counter-terrorism operations, humanitarian missions, and the revival of political dialogue in the crisis-hit country. The airstrikes have eliminated all threats against the kingdom and the neighboring countries through the destruction of the heavy arms and ballistic missiles that were seized by the Houthi militias and pro-Saleh forces, according to a statement by the defense ministry.

Operation 'Decisive Storm' in Yemen has ended, new phase under way - Saudi-led forces

http://rt.com/news/251777-yemen-operation-end-saudi/

>The Saudi-led military coalition has completed operation "Decisive Storm" against Shia Houthi rebels in Yemen, a statement by Saudi military command cited by local media, says.

>All goals set by the "Decisive Storm" operation have been achieved. These included the destruction of ballistic missiles the Houthis had taken control of. The decision to end the offensive comes following a request by the Yemeni government, according to the Saudi-led coalition spokesman.

>The anti-Houthi campaign is now switching into a new phase codenamed "Restoring Hope", the statement said, as cited by Saudi-owned Arabiya TV. The Saudi Defense Ministry says it is going to focus on anti-terrorism, security and finding a political solution to the crisis.

>This does not, however, mean a ceasefire will be declared.

>"The coalition will continue to prevent the movement of Houthi militias from moving or undertaking any operations inside Yemen," Saudi spokesman Brigadier General Ahmed Asseri in the Saudi capital Riyadh. He added that the bombing operation will resume if it is deemed necessary.

http://thehill.com/policy/239868-pentagon-iranian-convoy-still-near-yemen-joined-by-two-more-ships#.VTlGzl2H8xt.twitter

>The Pentagon said Thursday that a nine-ship Iranian convoy remains in the waters around Yemen, 200 miles away from a U.S. aircraft carrier, despite reports that it was turning back.

>"What I will confirm is that they remain in the region. They have not announced their intentions and we continue to monitor their activities," said Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Steve Warren.

>In addition, Warren confirmed reports that an additional two Iranian ships — which deployed April 8 but had been in the region — had arrived in the Gulf of Aden.

>An official Iranian news report on Wednesday said the ships, the Alborz destroyer and the Bushehr helicopter-carrier warship, “will protect the country’s cargo ships and oil tankers against pirates.”

>The report said their deployment would last around "three months.”

>The U.S. earlier this week sent the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt and the cruiser USS Normandy to the Gulf of Aden, joining seven other U.S. combat ships and three U.S. support vessels.

>Saudi Arabia and Egypt also have vessels in the Gulf of Aden to enforce an arms blockade against the Houthi rebels, raising concerns that a military conflict between the coalition and Iran could spark and enflame the region.

US Sees Tensions Lessen Over Iranian Ships Near Yemen (April 24 2015)

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/news/2015/04/mil-150424-voa03.htm

>An Iranian naval convoy suspected of possibly trying to deliver weapons to Yemen's Houthi rebels appears to be on its way back to Iran, avoiding a potential face-off with the United States.

>Pentagon spokesman Colonel Steve Warren said Friday the nine-ship convoy had left the Gulf of Aden and was now sailing in international waters off the coast of Oman, possibly on course to head back to Iran.

>"It's fair to say that this appears to be a de-escalation of some of the tensions that were being discussed earlier in the week," Warren said.

>The U.S. has been closely watching the Iranian flotilla since it left the Persian Gulf last week. Officials raised concerns the convoy's seven cargo ships could contain weapons or other supplies for Houthi rebels, citing Iran's history of supplying them with armaments in the past, a charge Iran denies.

SA Bombs Sanaa Airport Runway as Iranian Plane Tries To Land

https://archive.is/thi4L

"RIYADH (Reuters) - Jets of a Saudi Arabian-led coalition bombed the runway of Sanaa airport on Tuesday afternoon to prevent an Iranian plane from landing in the Yemeni capital, the coalition's spokesman said.

Brigadier General Ahmed Asseri told Reuters the plane had not coordinated with coalition authorities and the pilot had ignored a warning to turn back. The bombing of the runway made it unusable for planned aid flights, he said.

Iran's state news agency IRNA said Saudi jets tried to force what it said was an aid plane back after it entered Yemeni airspace, but the pilots had ignored these "illegal warnings".

The jets then bombed Sanaa airport as the plane was making an approach to land, forcing it to turn back, IRNA said. It said the plane, belonging to the Red Crescent, was carrying food and medical aid to Sanaa."

Iran is poking the blockade surrounding Yemen looking for a way in, and is in an alert for enemies as proven by seizure of the boat in Straight of Hormuz (regardless of whether or not it's a false flag or not).

>A Saudi-led coalition has staged air strikes against rebels since late March in support of Yemen's exiled president.

>Meanwhile aid groups say a lack of fuel is threatening their operations there."

5a1b0a No.14201

>"SANAA, Yemen - At least 20 troops from a Saudi-led Arab coalition landed Sunday in Yemen's southern coastal city of Aden on a "reconnaissance" mission amid a fierce Shiite rebel offensive there, Yemeni military officials said.

>The objective of the landing, which Saudi officials declined to immediately comment on, was not clear. However, military and security officials repeatedly have said that a ground operation would follow a Saudi-led airstrike campaign after the military capabilities of the Houthi rebels and their allies had been sufficiently weakened."

>They said the troops carried assault rifles, took photos of the areas they toured and carried topography equipment. There was no precise figure available for their number, the nationality of the non-Yemenis among them or how long they intended to stay. It was not immediately clear whether they were ferried to Aden by helicopters taking off from coalition navy ships off the coast of Yemen or traveled to shore in speed boats.

And another scapegoat for current conflict appears.

Is there anything new on this topic, any recommended sites? I'm not sure if OP is updating and I'd like to keep my eye on this conflict.

Maybe, who knows except that yesterday…

Ceasefire in Yemen is over.

Officials: Saudi-led coalition airstrikes resume in Yemen

https://archive.is/gTUYt

>SANAA, Yemen (AP) — Saudi-led coalition airstrikes targeting Shiite rebels resumed early Monday in the southern port city of Aden after a five-day truce came to a close following talks on the war-torn country's future that were boycotted by the rebels.

>Coalition airstrikes hit rebel positions and tanks in several neighborhoods of Aden after the cease-fire expired at 11 p.m. on Sunday, Yemeni security officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

>Meanwhile, a suspected U.S. drone strike hit a car carrying a group of people believed to be al-Qaida fighters, Yemeni security officials said. The strike was in Shabwa province, where the extremist group has sent reinforcements. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to reporters.

and bouncing off the Shitte/Sunni fight

ISIS captured Ramadi in Iraq today

It's likely they'll totally control Fallujuh in the near future as well

http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/18/asia/isis-ramadi/index.html

basically speaking, ISIS has solidified their control over the Anbar province, and it's highly unlikely that the Iraqi's will recapture it

If/once they grab Baghdad, will that wipe out most remaining government forces, or would their still be a lot of resistance from Mosul and some of the eastern fronts?

f6e706 No.14781

>>14769

The fight in Iraq has basically gone down to a sunni vs shia fight

They simply aren't a country anymore in a meaningful sense

I doubt IS can take Baghdad, since its now a majority shia city, but they can threaten it certainly, if that happens the Iranians will likely simply move in and take over

Iraq is a strategic interest for them, and they can't afford to lose it

>Mosul

Correct me if I'm wrong, but they've ruled Mosul for some time now, and its unlikely IS will be forced out

The worrying front is actually Syria

Despite what you see on /pol/, Assad is losing, the intervention of Hezbollah bought him time, and gave him the numbers to go on the offensive, but that advantage is going away

Its a war of attrition, and Assad can't win in that

There's rumors he's had to purge some of top guys, which isn't a good sign, as well as rumors that the alawites are being told to move to the costal strongholds, and leave Damascus

As well as the new US and Turkish training program for rebel forces has gone into full swing, meaning in the near future, the rebels will get tens of thousands of trained fighters

Saudis Have ’Israel’ Nuke Yemen for Them

http://www.almanar.com.lb/english/adetails.php?fromval=1&cid=23&frid=23&eid=211770

>Neutron bomb dropped by IAF plane with Saudi markings

>Veterans Today website posted a report, prepared by Gordon Duff and Jeff Smith, on the bomb which fell on Naqm mountain in Yemen last week.

>A video received from Yemen, believed to be taken May 20, 2015, of an explosion, when analyzed by nuclear weapons experts is, by very high probability, a neutron bomb that could only have been an Israeli attack.

07f1f1 No.15093

The likeliness of it actually being a neutron bomb is extremely low, to say the least. What angle is Israel even playing in the whole Sunni-Shia special war anyways? Somehow I feel whatever ties they had to the saudis have evaporated somewhat.

I feel bad about bumping this without content, but media has been pretty silent lately about happenings in Yemen, and this thread somewhat dead.

Is anything going on?

07f1f1 No.15515

>>15431

I hate to be doing it like this, but /pol/ has a thread up filled with Syrian news (AKA counter-propaganda) with articles about it, mostly from a heavy yemeni/iranian bias.
