I like how Trypt tries to make it seem like it is something special that he doesn't moderate for shit. Him changing his "philosophy" simply means he stopped doing the job he fucking agreed to do. The point to getting him as mod was so that he would moderate, if nobody wanted moderation then he wouldn't have gotten the spot in the first place. People didn't give him that little red title just so that he could attention-whore with it.
/pol/ mods cave in so fucking easily just to please people, that nobody likes them.
>shills don't like them because "oy vey, those stickies are anti-semitic, there is no way this is free speech"
>newfags don't like them because they think that the only way the views expressed on /pol/ are within the majority is if the board is moderated by Stalin himself
>regular users don't like them because the mods rarely fucking do anything, especially during raids
>shitposters don't like them because they are inconsistent, on some days a shitposting thread is acceptable and on others it is not
Benji is a clear example of moderation done right.
>was very clear in what he did and didn't want to see
>actually got engaged with the community
>had a sense of fucking humour
And even though Benji banned people for what they say and for not lurking, nobody calls /baphomet/ a hugbox, even though it clearly is (not saying /baphomet/ is bad but it does meet this criteria). This exactly the same thing that happens when vidya developers try to pander to SJWs: the SJWs weren't going to play the vidya anyway and now neither is the original fanbase. Hate from both sides because the people whining about /pol/ being a hugbox don't do it because of freedom of speech, they do it because they aren't getting things their way. If the /pol/ mods were to ban "stormfaggotry" and "tinfoil", then all of a sudden people would start being ok with /pol/ being a hugbox and would even go out of their way to defend it as such.
Best-case scenario: all the mods lost 50 IQ points over the weekend
Worst-case scenario: they actually managed to infiltrate the moderation
