When do we reunite Europa?
We may have had border struggles and wars but most of the time we didn't go around slaughtering each others citizens to prove points.
The more history I read the more I realize that the absolutism that preceded modern Democracy was a cancer.

Old christianity warned us about jews and the old testament that had some history in it was a revelation of the problem of jews. Somewhere along the enlightenment they were considered European just because they interbred with Europeans.
I'd rather trust an ally from my continent than a convenient one from foreign lands.
