Basically be mock the tv shows in an amusing fashion.
For instance, if the TLC show "curvy brides" comes on, I'll say: "Oh, is this that "wide brides" show?" in a nonchalant fashion (this is crucial).
Basically not all-out hazing of the show. Why? Because pushing too hard makes them cling to their tv harder and also, if you can make them laugh as well, you'll have them joining you in laughing at the show.
The second step is pointing out obvious kikery in a certain manner. Such as "Boy, I'm really glad their are showing so many commercials with black men and white women married. It really shows how progressive and tolerant we are." Do this EVERY TIME a certain kikery shows itself on tv
(gay pushing, racemixing, feminism, etc). This is important because they will
A. not only hear the joke
but B. realize the frequency these things are happening.
They'll notice how often certain subversive things are being shown as a side-effect of your jack assery:
"Hmm. You know, now that I think of it, he makes those jokes a lot……. because there ARE A LOT OF COMMERCIALS/SHOWS THAT ARE ACTUALLY PORTRAYING THESE THINGS. HMMMMMM.", they will think.
So this is assuming you can make these jokes even slightly around your family. Some people lucky enough to have a family that has just a tiny bit of redpill in 'em. But if you aren't….
Try showing them how "stupid" tv is (no need to explicitly name anything in particular). Show them how scripted "reality" shows are. Show them how brainless most programming is. Show them how fake everyone's emotions are (in all types of shows "reality", competition, news etc).
Basically your not coming right out and saying "DON'T WATCH TV IT'S MAKING YOU STUPID!" but you are showing them the "dings" in their idol.
It's an old sales men's trick: You don't have to force a person to buy a new car on your lot… you just have to convince them how crappy their lives are without it.
i.e. "Boy that truck of yours has been through some heck aint it?" or "No air conditioning huh? Well that would be nice relief in the summer, wouldn't it?"
Advertising does it all the time. Basically make your family and friends seem like losers and failures for watching so much tv.
Make jokes about "people who watch too much tv" (not THEM of course wink wink)
Show them how much fun people have who go out and do things instead of watch tv.
The best way to show them this is to do it your self.
Go out and go fishing, or rock climbing, or dancing, or to a "potato fair" or anything crazy to make people see how interesting your life is as a non-tv watcher.
Something that will really hit home: say something to the effect of "People who spend their who lives, watching people do exciting things on tv, will look back and realize that they never got to do any of that themselves. They could have been trying new foods, new activities, meeting people, traveling, having fun… but instead they just watched other people doing it on tv. And by then it will be too late."
Once they realize how little time everyone really has, they will kind of see why tv is such a time waster.
If someone says "well won't things get boring?" you can tell them that it will at first, but then, you'll find something to keep you busy. Reading, learning to metalwork, digging for fossils, geocaching, jogging. They'll find something to do, and be happier for it.
(You can spread this pic around btw)
