Last time I checked, can't of been more than a few days ago, /pol/ was below both /b/ and /v/, having around 2400 'active users'.

Look at it now…

One person can't do all of that with a proxy.

Bots getting a new ip with every post, and going nonstop… IDK, maybe one faggot could?

In any case they'll run out of steam and in the meantime they've boosted the stats of the site.

003fc0 No.14959

That doesn't seem natural to me, but maybe it's the holiday weekend?

>polite sage only because we have enough /pol/-meta threads here

003fc0 No.14982

I guess that Bui guy with the proxy-bots-for-hire is active on /pol/, so that might be where it's coming from. I'm finding the current state of /pol/ very funny because it proves once and for all that the people arguing for hands-off moderation were wrong.

Yeah this would be easy to do with a botnet. If this is the case, you will probably see thread subjects being repeated. If the bot owner isn't completely lazy, he may employ some slight variance in the titles, but it'll still be apparent.

>If this is the case, you will probably see thread subjects being repeated.

Are you kidding me? The described behavior is completely normal for /pol/ - threads about subject X get made in batches of 3-5. That has been the case for months now.

That is not completely normal for /pol/, that is rampant shilling. Something which used to be dealt with.

Then you never paid attention. As I said, this has been going on for months now. Examples:Race-bait, anti-christian, pedo and isis threads are always created in groups of 3-5, sometimes in groups of 2-3.

Check it out in the catalog right now. It's very weird.

i've been promoting /pol/ IRL and on via facebook PM for months now, personally.

Odin wills it <3

That's very true, it started early this year. Also there will be times when it's apparent somebody showed up with a pre-made list of thread topics (mostly rage, social stuff, or otherwise harmless topics) and starts posting them one per minute for at least a half-hour straight.

I used to argue with the /pol/ vols about this because it stands out as unnatural and is easily identifiable, so it should be deleted. Main problem being that a legit post or two could get caught up in the deletions but the alternative is letting some outside organization set the topics and overall tone of the board.

Of course they wont delete them as long as they are marginally political so the board fills with social rage topics and then other shills stop by and point to those angry threads as proof that /pol/acks are unbalanced shut-ins that rage over unimportant things

0af011 No.15051

I'll add: It's difficult for the average user to come up with good ideas for threads so a group of shills can easily set the tone for the board. They just prepare lists of appropriate topics that meet their needs, then stop by once a day and dump the new threads. It steers the whole board and doesn't even take that much effort.

Regular user has to think about a topic, and then has to filter out half of the ideas because there's something wrong with them and they might look like bait. The shill doesn't care, and probably has a huge spreadsheet with general ideas culled from years of 4chan threads. So it's fairly easy for them to come up with dozens of threads per day and if they are useless anger bait, all the better

0af011 No.15052

Also shill-made threads will be posed as a question the majority of the time. It's how they take a general topic and turn it into something specific and current

0af011 No.15053

The "Grey State" thread last night was hilariously shilled, the proxyfagging was so obvious. I'd love to have the opportunity to delete and ban over threads like that. I don't know why /pol/ always has lazy blind vols get somebody with a sense of duty in there already! It's not hard to see what needs to be done
