I wouldn't have otherwise checked the video, but I'm glad I did because the behavior was beyond odd, like they're not even bothering anymore:

- cameraman was looking the other way during the interview

- neither the reporter or the subject glanced at the shooter, even though he was within their peripheral vision and he pulled a gun some 20 seconds before the shots began)

- she was wearing a knee pad which is apparently a Masonic symbol

- he shot the reporter 3 times point black and didn't miss (lined it up frame by frame), but she was able to turn around, scream and run away (no bullet wounds, obviously they were blanks because of the lack of shell sounds)

Also a bunch of journalists included gamergate in their articles surrounding this - maybe to repeatedly drill the event into their brains because they're the only ones openly opposing them?

It's pointless to try to convince enough people to cause some "groundswell" to stop this shit. It will not happen. These stories are seeded with stuff to attract two sides, this was a counterpart to the Roof hoax. You will never get enough people to look critically at these to stop it by mass protest. There are also divisions built into the stories on many levels, it's just hard to get any majority to look at the story the same way

So, is there any other way to make this shit stop? Because it's driving me mad watching how disconnected from reality the news has become. Also tired of talking with shills that see every story by itself and refuse to see trends

They really just get more brazen all of the time but it never matters. I know there is probably a mundane reason given for the origin of this photo, from some past segment about training or some shit, but this was chosen to be a photo run in the photobomb articles that came with this story. It's rubbing it in your face

A lot of people on /pol/ want to go along with these stories because they throw a bone to "both" sides in almost everything they do. Realize who runs the news media and that even if they throw you a bone, this is not going to work out in your favor.

I don't think these fake events are for gun control, although that's the first thing people assume. If it is for gun control it's working toward it in a future generation, as in children seeing news now will pick up the idea that guns are too dangerous to own, and when tey grow up will demand control. In the short term it's just making people buy more guns.

Anyways, this story is just the second chapter of the Storm Roof comedy. I'd say the main purpose is to increase racial tensions. The media has done a fantastic job of this lately (which has me worried that /pol/ enthusiasm over race war may be a mistake)

I don't think it's about attacking the communities directly, but rather reinforcing pre-existing biases their audience already has against them.

Since gamergate began opposing journalists, feminists and social justice warriors have been whipped into a year-long frenzy, with hardcore levels of dehumanization, doxing and threats of violence - and nobody in their group bats an eyelid. In fact, they see their actions as justified.

As far as I can tell, the goal is to fight opponents through proxy wars, because basically every time someone is given an opportunity to speak about the topic on national television (SPJ with Milo, Huffington Post with Hotwheels etc), the media has come away like a humiliated puppy with its tail between its legs. But consistently leaving snarky comments, connecting it to terrible events, is a simple way to further incite hatred.

Yeah, that's the most disappointing thing about /pol/ to me. I'm convinced that there's a lot of false/fabricated/fake news going on, and it's worth looking at.

Seems the initial threads have a strong contingent of people that get it, but the shills frame later threads in their preferred way and basically overpower the sceptics until they give up. Which doesn't take long because if others are like me, it's been three years of getting shut down on these things and I start to just not give a fuck.
