I wonder about Russia.

Putin seems like a very good leader. He's done a lot to clean up corruption in the government, and establish Russia as a global power.

But the average Russian still seems to lead an empty, vapid, individualistic life. For all Putin's rightwing and Christian rhetoric, and as much as the Russian people seem to like it, few of them are willing to live it.

I think that will change with time, if Putin and the leaders keep pushing their message. The masses are easily swayed by propaganda. How long it will take them to come around, however, is a different question altogether.

Russia, like most post-soviet countries is fucked and needs atleast 40 more years to recover.

Communism destroyed our high-trust societies. alcoholism, high suicide rates and lazyness is rampant in ALL of the post-soviet countries.

but what worries me the most is that, most of the young people in protest of their elders turn liberal and degenerate western culture is being pushed by you know who. if the EU doesn't collapse in 20 years we're going to be become the next sweden.

Russia is eager to take control. Don't get me wrong, Russia is a far better choice than the US to support, but they are nobody's savior but their own. A lot of Orthodox priests support the same type of invasion that the Arabs do, although on political and not religious grounds, as doing so allows to skew politics in Russia's favour by exporting a voter base to appeal to with their own politicians. Eastern Europe has a lot of Russians and that doesn't make anyone here happy, it only causes tension and hinders politics. Politics in Latvia has transformed into three options: vote for the party that nobody likes, vote for the Russians or vote for a party that will get 0.01% of the vote. There may be a common foe but this kind of shit is helping very few people. Sure, it slows the spread of US influence, but it also fucks with everything as it does. And on top of that nobody likes the Russian government because of what backstabbers they have been through the ages and this is regardless of the form of government that has taken control.

> Eastern Europe has a lot of Russians and that doesn't make anyone here happy, it only causes tension and hinders politics

I know, I'm from Lithuania myself, Russians are quite strange since they do not integrate to other countries, so they vote for people of slavic decent. With the rise of liberalism back here more old people go away from the traditional parties and go for the nationalist ones.

>And on top of that nobody likes the Russian government because of what backstabbers they have been through the ages and this is regardless of the form of government that has taken control.

Historically the Russians were barbarian always harassing and occupying their eastern neighbors.

Eastern Europe should wake up and stop taking sides US or Russia and focus on domestic issues.
