I hope a meta thread like this is allowed here. If not, feel free to delete this.

/polpol/ is going to need to prepare for the possibility of a board migration, especially since you guys are now only 9 UIPs away from becoming a top 25 board. Usually, once a new board reaches top 25 status, it enters a growth spurt (because it becomes much more visible), and if this place reaches a critical mass then I reckon a lot of people will move.

Personally, I don't want it to come to that, but if it does, I hope you are ready to hire a lot of competent volunteers and ramp up your moderation efforts. To manage a board the size of /pol/, you will need no fewer than 10 active volunteers staggered across different timezones, all of whom are regulars to /pol/ and have a deep understanding of the board. From my understanding, /pol/ currently has fewer than 5, with maybe one or two of them actually being active.

I'd prefer for /pol/ to remain the largest board, but if a switchover happens, I'd rather that /polpol/ be well managed. If this responsibility falls to you, and you become the successor to /pol/, can you promise me that you are ready for the challenge, board owner?

You know, I think that lack of popularity can kill this board just as effectively as shills did kill /pol/ in an overwhelming amount of shitposting.

Although, looking at how BO handles the board and is active, well, and monitoring, I doubt it will suffer the same fate even as it goes through the top 25, especially since there pretty much is a consensus about what is being looked for in the board.

I agree there would be more volunteers, but let's make sure BO chooses them right to make sure that they don't powertrip, but still do their job well, but from all I've seen (read the sticky thread), I trust BO to do this job well, he knows what we are waiting from him, and he does it.

I think BO should start recruiting volunteers now before the flood comes. You should want the selection to be of the kind of people who actively sought out this place.

pol has lost a lot of traffic, but I don't see it all going here

my honest outsider opinion is that this board isn't ready for the big time

there's a serious opportunity here and whether or not you realize it will depend on your willingness to do the following BO:

- set some rules for what defines shitposting and spamming and proofread them

- condense your stickies, or better yet put this shit on the rules page and put a link in the announcement to it so the page isn't perpetually cluttered by an unnecessary sticky

- hire moderators and set ban standards: X offense gets Y ban for Z length and hold them to it

- understand that serious and fun threads can coexist on the board, if you're going to be another no fun idiot hotpocket who can't handle one fun thread and start screaming COINTELPRO then you're not cut out for this

my suggestions:

make a no porn rule

a no anime rule

and for the love of god make rules about race threads that ban race baiting but don't ban serious well-written questions

don't pretend this is a general politics board if you're only intent is to make it a NS board

whoever is able to do the above will win the crown of /pol/ and keep it

will that person be you BO?

No anime rule is ridiculous to be honest. Spamming anime reacton images shouldn't be fine but a few anime images is hardly disruptive.

If there are any real /pol/acks left, they may be here in the next few days. /pol/ is completely destroyed, at least that's what it looks like right now. The shills dominate every single thread, and made 90% of them.

It's kind of awe-inspiring, like a burning train-wreck.

Hows about the 4chan rules board? I liked it more then the 8chan one.

Welcome to /polpol/ - Politically Incorrect

This board is for the discussion of news, world events, political issues, and other related topics.

Off-topic and /b/-tier threads will be deleted (and possibly earn you a ban, if you persist). Unless they are quality, well thought out, well written posts, the following are examples of off-topic and/or /b/-tier threads:

>Red pill me on X. (with no extra content or input of your own)

>Are X white?

>Is X degeneracy?

>How come X girls love Y guys so much?

>If X is true, then how come Y? Checkmate Z.

The variety of threads allowed here are very flexible and we believe in freedom of speech, but we expect a high level of discourse befitting of the board. Attempts to disrupt the board will not be tolerated, nor will calls to disrupt other boards and sites.

Those examples constitute the majority of what's call shitposting no? You need to also mention shilling and maybe put examples for that too.

Ehhhh, not Cointel Pro stuff if that's what you mean. it's not really helpful for those who don't have enough experience too the Web at large never mind a *chan. Pointing out genuine shills as it comes up might be better.
