What is the best way to recognize whether the media you're consuming is degenerate? I always look for lack of structure or variation in music. Yes has always been my favorite band, despite being a millennial born long after the group's heyday. Ironically, any "progressive" sub-genre of music tends to be very well structured and full of real artistry (I have prog-rock and prog-metal in mind).

But even in "party music" like electronica I can clearly tell the difference between something like CoLD SToRAGE or Aphex Twin vs bland, repetitive crap like Deadmau5. Whereas a lot of "club" music consists of mindless repetition, there is a good deal of electronic music following in the footsteps of Kraftwerk with thoughtful composition.

Likewise with film, there is a definite difference between a film that strives for greatness and one that simply makes noise and flashes images for a few hours. Say what you will about the film, but Interstellar undoubtedly reaches for more than something like Furious 7 does.

I avoid television entirely because of the utter wasteland of triteness it has become. Video games, too, are a constant struggle to find the diamonds in the rough, as indie hipster garbage tears apart everything we once held dear and mainstream developers are forced by jews in the publishing companies to smooth out any rough edges that might have made a game actually enjoyable.

Is there any one way to identify that which is degenerate vs. that which is self-respecting and worthwhile, or do we simply have to fly by the seat of our pants?

popularity is not a criteria
90% is shit, only likeminded people can filter it for you

I tend to look for themes of conformity, subliminal messages, and structure which promotes any value without directly expressing it.

One example that is easily identified is the "dumbass white man" theme as my father calls it. Basically you have a characterization of any older white man as submissive, idiotic, or weak individual. This shit is injected into almost every piece of media and makes a good starting point for revealing the degeneracy to others. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of people who fit that mold. But ask people the last time they saw a decent, moderately intelligent, and responsible white male in media; more often than not they cannot remember.

So yeah, I look for culturally marxist concepts which are layered in beneath the actual plot of any media. It's been effective for me in spreading enlightenment.

To be honest you will have to accept that most of these things are degenerate especially the games and movies that can tell a story. Even the ones that can be considered good movies have jewish bluepills infused into them. I'd rather a walk in the park when I can than to sit another hour as an observer of some fiction someone else created. Games don't change the fact that you are just following someone elses script even if they give you "choices".

honestly, I don't care if the media I consume can be considered degenerate.
The main criteria I care about are
1. whether it is fun to watch/read/listen to, and
2. whether I can learn something interesting by consuming it.
Most western cinema/TV nowadays doesn't fulfill the first criterion for me, in part because the constant anti-European (i.e. anti-White) propaganda makes it completely unenjoyable for me. I watch maybe one Western movie per year or so, the last one being Interstellar. I sold my TV more than a decade ago.
I'm mostly satiating my thirst for escapism with Japanese media, because generally they don't harp on about the evils of European people, and by virtue of helping me learn Japanese they automatically fulfill criterion #2.

If I ever have kids, I guess the main thing regarding their media consumption I'll focus on will be to keep them away from Jewish-produced entertainment media, with some honorary exceptions like Stanley Kubrick films.

Reminder that the Kikes edited the wiki article of Angel Cop and removed any mention of it's 'antisemitism': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_Cop

And this happened right after 'conspiracies' involving Israel in the Fukushima disaster started circulating around the web.

Degenerate creations are ugly - non-degenerate things are beautiful. Nothing beautiful can be degenerate.

Classical music, classical art, classical architecture are beautiful. Modernist (not modern) stuff is almost entirely ugly and degenerate.

Also our conscience will tell us when something is not right, so listen to it.

Well, as far as video games go, older ones before everything turned into a tool to promote marxism. I suppose that age could be an indication in other media.

You are literally just classifying "Degenerate" as "Things I don't like", though. Ugliness is not necessarily an indicator of degeneracy. You could have a very-well constructed painting of a very ugly scene - say a war-torn battlefield - that imparts an important message. Hardly degenerate.

Also, a lot of the ugliest stuff is not modernist, but post-modernist, which defines itself explicitly in opposition to modernism. Modernist paintings themselves are, in my opinion, hit or miss when it comes to aesthetics. Abstract structure, but many of them still require much skill.

Ironically, what you're doing - so broadly defining degeneracy along the lines of personal whims - is almost a textbook example of language degeneration, in the original sense of the word.

Come to think of it, one of my favorite works of Japanese pop culture is Saya no Uta. I laughed out loud when I watched The Eternal Jew years after reading SnU, because the way it makes you sympathize with Fuminori who in his insanity cooperates with Saya to murder everyone he used to care about perfectly corresponds to the most striking example of a degenerate Jewish movie the NatSocs could think of, the plot of which they summarized as being about an insane murderer with whom the audience sympathizes, having the effect of subverting the viewer's ethical values.

It's actually a provable historical fact that the CIA is responsible for plastering Japan with shitty nuclear reactors. Look up Matsutarou Shouriki.
By the way: WW2-era America was largely pushed into conflict with Japan by Jewish communists like Harry Dexter White, who was on the payroll of the Kremlin and part of FDR's administration.
What's more, anti-Japanese propaganda efforts in the Allied nations was largely based on supposed Japanese plans for world domination, a claim that relied mostly on the so-called Tanaka Memorial, a fraudulent hoax document that was given widespread publicity by Jewish Communists, including Trotsky himself.

My "degeneracy tolerance" for most media is pretty high unless it goes completely overboard like promoting Black + White racemixing, White guilt or feminism.

So pretty much most media

I'm a bit selective about the stuff that I watch, of course, so the "most" was for the type of media of my choice.
