Sometimes I ask myself the same question. The podcast (if you can even call a bunch of nobodies with autism, talking about horses a podcast) has no quality control, what so ever, anyone can join, no matter how shitty the equipment.
Some guys don't even have proper mics, but use the imbeded mic on their phone/laptop, sometimes.
I have a few conclusions.
1. People listen to the opinions of people from the same hole of the internet they're from. Some wicked form of tribalism.
2. Shitcasts require little engagement. I know I sometimes hit up podcasts, just to have them in the bg, when playing some mindless vidya.
In this case, poor equipment can be combated (but not defeated) by simply lowering the volume of the shitcast.
The fact that human ears have picked up 4000 minutes of this stuff honestly freaks me out on a few levels.

Just get a plantronics gamecom 388. Sound quality is great and it's pretty cheap because it's an older model. Or if you want professional sound get a blue snowball, you'll need a pop-filter and broadcasting arm though and it's relatively expensive so I wouldn't get that unless you want to get obsessive about it.

Generally, don't get USB mics.
The electrical interference from the USB port causes a consistent whine for most all of them. Along with other electrical things most of them use to send a digital signal. Digital mics are inferior, most would agree.
Spend time learning about mics. It's as varied as headphones are.

Analog mics (and headsets) do get a lot of interference when I use the outputs on the front of my case , but that's because my board has a dedicated, separate slice for sound.
Regular inerferance issues has lots more to do with your computer (as it is the sause of interference) than if you go digital or analog.

Well I can't really push my personal feels for her, but there are objective reasons why replacing her would be bad.
The others are almost always strong, resourceful, mostly assertive and walk through their lives without serious trouble.
Fluttershy has trouble with many seemingly easy things/tasks. Yet noone abandons her, she does find her inner strenght when pushed a bit too far and she is constantly improving and sometimes even removing her weaknesses while still being herself.

Then you'd still have to worry about the server costs. Can't you just embed mixcloud recordings onto a site like you can with soundcloud recordings and YouTube videos. The embeds take up no more room on a server then a regular link. I have my own wordpress site that I customized some of the code on. The site makes no cash at all but at least I learnt how to setup these kinds of things up.
