It is kind of disconcerting to think that any one of us might own the last existing copy of some pony-related thing. I don't see why archiving them is a bad idea, there are already youtube channels dedicated to re-uploading hundreds of songs and videos which are being deleted or hidden by their original owners. Sometimes the OP comments on it, but I haven't heard of them trying to get anything taken down yet.

It just doesn't sit right with me that people scrub all of their contributions to the fandom from the public eye or even existence, and yet it happens.

Hasbro could at least do more though. Recently there were these guys who did Dragonball z parodies (TFS) and a lot of their stuff got taken down, but Funimation stepped in and help them get their content back. Hasbro should be more like Funimation and support their fans.

How many video takedown requests would you estimate YouTube gets every minute? Thousands?

It's so much easier to just let them through and take down the video, and maybe, MAYBE, once the uploader complains, investigate why it was taken down.

Hasbro knows what it's doing, and it doesn't care. It doesn't need to care, because little girls and neckbeards alike will still watch the show and buy plastic, no matter what they do.

I'd be willing to bet that Hasbro could feasibly cancel FiM entirely and not feel a lick of flame behind the wall of money.

I like Aryanne the pony fans, I like Glimmer the pony fans - but I don't like real nazis with real nazi ideas. Nor any other totalitarian or purely hateful people, like actually wishing death to people with different opinions, color etc - of course it's all good if it's trolling or just for fun.

And I know YouTube isn't exactly in a position of power - but they will think of something to help the community, I'm sure of that. Be it good will or fear of bad press, Google isn't exactly on the rise at the moment anyways.
