Rarity Investigates was the best Rar episodes (and one of my favorite episodes overall) because, surprise surprise, it had nothing to do with MUH JEWELRIES.

The Element of Generosity was a mistake.

Rar should have been the Element of Expression, or Sympathy, or Intimacy, or Understanding, or SOMETHING more interesting than "share with yo friends".

In fact, the more I think about it, "Element of Expression" to me sounds like a way better title, and far more fitting for her. It's a nice umbrella term that encompasses pretty much everything in her character development.

She helps ponies express themselves through fashion.

She makes a point of using your expressions to an advantage in the Diamond Dog episode.

Also note all the time's she's sweet-talked others into doing things for her.

Maybe, whatever.

I did not really notice the lack of jewels. Come to think of it, Made in Manehattan was also lacking in that department. And Rarity Takes Manehattan. I can not recall any of the costumes that Rarity wore in Sweet and Elite having jewelry.
