So, I was gonna wait until this was more fully fleshed out, but I saw a bunch of free labor arrived from halfchan so I'm capitalizing on that. This is BatSpeak, also know as BatSpeech, Skri, Fresk, and sometimes Kserf. It's a conlang (constructed language) for bat ponies, similar to Vulcan from Star Trek and Elvish from Lord of the Rings. It's based on an old AB cypher that someone embedded into a now dead pony website, where you could type shit and have it encrypted into sequences of Ks and Es like "KeekeeekkEkekeKEKEekkeKekeek" and it would sound like bats chittering.

Well, that's dead and in its stead is a proper language with its own grammar and everything. You can use it to talk about horse pussy on /b/ and Fightan Herds on /v/ without getting banned. Also, remember, this language is incomplete. There are only seventy five words which will in no way cover everything you could possibly say. We have special words to help with that, but also feel free to contribute. This is basically open source- just remember the alphabet and the grammar in the dictionary, which I'm linking in the next post. Also most importantly have fun and kis kiskri

>All verbs in Fresk relate to the speaker

So there is only the first person?

5699b3  No.307931

>>307926

Sort of. It was worked off the assumption that bats are very single-minded creatures, so everything they describe is relative to them. If there's only one noun in a sentence, that's the second noun, because the first, the subject is an implicit first person. Like, reifisk which means "angry fish" doesnt mean that the fish is angry, it means, "I, the implicit subject, am angry at the fish"

YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.

This video seems appropriate for this thread.

Actually, the whole user's collection of uploads are stuff people who find themselves in this thread more than once, will appreciate, and can thereafter make Fresk a better tongue.

My headcanon is still that the batpony tongue is supersonic, with grammar largely overlapping Equestrian common. But other than that is probably structured like the Norwegian.

(see, then you can name your OC "Måneskygge" and nobody says you're lame for naming her Moon Shadow)

Pic attached isn't mine, and isn't named Blå Edelstener … but it could be either.

50d0e9  No.311521

Just so the people interested know, I'm currently in the process of writing a greentext with a heavy usage of literary Fresk, so it's gonna be a bit more complicated to translate correctly if you wanna get the full experience.

https://pastebin.com/mHcqcZS5

It's also updated like once a year, just so you know

afa35b  No.311526

Why is it called Fresk?

>bat language is that simplistic

They must be like another group of nigger to the ponies for them to be that dumb.

50d0e9  No.311530

>>311527

Batponies are definitely at least slightly less evolved than Equestrian ponies, so it only makes sense that their language wouldn't be as complex as English. Well, that, and the actual language isn't quite finished yet. We've still got a bit of grammar to work out.

>>311526

It was originally named Kserf, after the first five letters of the bat alphabet. But Kserf doesn't roll off the tongue as easy as we wanted it to, so we just reversed it and got Fresk.

7a2c25  No.311633

I've been wanting to expand on the dictionary but the first person perspective only element is a bit tough to work around. Maybe I just need to try harder to think like a retard.

50d0e9  No.311638

>>311633

I don't really like the aspect either, so you could just use the literary version of the language. It drops the first person perspective and works more like a human language with normal sentence structure.

b54743  No.311645

>>311638

But then it loses all of it's character and uniqueness though. If you get rid of that it's basically not-english. Also that aspect of the language could explain the bat-ponies underdeveloped nature since it greatly hinders communication of complex thoughts and ideas

a73c59  No.311669

>>311645

So basically it's exclusively for shitposting?

bb2111  No.312820

American English dialects have no problem distinguishing the two. The V makes a vibrating vrrr sound while the F does not

64f817  No.312830

>>312814

>>312820

Which begs the question of in-universe what kind of accent would one expect from batpones? There's already some confusion stemming here in the inferior human world given many dialects don't distinguish "Vuh" and "ffff" like English does.

Nice Bat Thread Cancerbump.

4d5a2d  No.320455

I'm having a bit of trouble imagining how this would be used conversationally. Given that the language is simplistic enough that all verbs are implicit to the speaker, Im guessing that questions are implicit to those asked, with tone of voice indicating a question. A simple exchange is probably

"Eko!" (Let's play! (in the future))

"Iii ksi?" (where?)

"Ririrsk" (The big cave)

"Kk Nihhh" (Yes, during not sleep (day))

Does that seem about right?

886b86  No.320565

>>320455

I would need to look at the dictionary and the grammar rules to remember how most of these are interpreted, but I remember that o conveys future permanance. Bats are so neanderthal that they cant usually think about anything other than the present. The future tense is therefore used sparingly and reserved for a state of affairs expected to last forever. For example "hhho" means permanent sleep to indicate death. So "eko" would be more accurately translated as "let's play forever!"

4d5a2d  No.320639

>>320565

So, this language is so simple that the concepts I'm trying to convey with this exchange is pretty much too complex for the batpones who use it?
