Hey guys, thought it could be of interest to you - I've started a board for us to share free educational resources, or discuss self-education more generally. How to Pallet Garden
How to make a pallet garden.Poor Culture
Hi /poverty/. I have a friend who recently graduated high school. He can't go to community college right now because he can't afford it. He got a job at Chic-fil-a, but he doesn't work for very long hours so he doesn't make too much money. His dad demands a monthly rent of somewhere between 300-400 dollars. He barely has any money leftover. He tried to convince his dad to let him put the money in a savings account for college or other important things instead, but his dad just said "A man provides."
Sup /poverty/. So I'm basically getting disowned by my family because they make my life a miserable existence and I need a couple tips on essentials that I need to get.
I have an interview on Friday for full time fast food and have a place lined up that will cost around $550 (CAD) a month plus better internet if we decide to upgrade and I'd pay the difference on what they currently pay. The place has heating, water, hydro all inclusive and there's a shared fridge/freezer, washer (no dryer), and oven with a convection stove for making soup and shit.
What essentials aside from food will I need to live and how can I get them at a good price? I have clothes, shoes, winter stuff, sheets, laptop, a PS3, a small TV, a garbage bin and some other small stuff to take (or borrow) with me? Is thrift stores good for cheap clothes hangers and rack?
I want to explain why you are all in this mess
I'm not blaming you, I'm blaming evil people who try to rule the world unfairly. I'm hoping that by teaching you, you may know the world you live in slightly better and as a result be more successful. peace.

How to get rid of Bed Bugs
So since I'm posting this here, obviously throwing my shit out isn't an option. I put covers over my box spring and mattress, but they just laid eggs all over those. I've used a steamer a few times, but it doesn't seem to kill them all that long, nor does the poison spray. Does anyone have any methods on getting rid of them better? I'm seriously hoping you guy can help because I've been living with them for a year, and because they're only in my room, my dad doesn't care enough to really help out that much. I've read they're only supposed to feed every few days, but I have them on me every night, and I think they've begun living at my computer desk/on the chair, I even find them living on my flip flops sometimes. I'd occasionally catch them on my school bag last year, but I ditched it. Thankfully they don't travel on my clothes, so at least I can have a social life.

If you live in a copyright-cucked country that cracks down on torrenting maybe newsgroups are a good solution to avoid paying for overpriced media. Here's a few free newsgroup subscriptions:

Most of them require ipv6 or weekly/daily renewed subscription but a couple others do give you actual free access.

Has anyone ever done this? The idea is that you get together as a group to increase your purchasing power and get lower prices than if you all bought stuff individually./poverty/ how do I get a job?
I can ignore the suicidal thoughts if I could actually go out and do things or be able to afford clay and shit so that I can actually practice the things I'm passionate about. But I can't do that without money.
I think getting a job would be great but I've been applying places online and in person for like a year clearly I'm just retarded and doing it wrong how do I get a job?
Overseas Data & Internet
Hey /poverty/, Amerifat here, going to the UK for a week. Rang up my mobile company to see what the charges would be, since I've never left my country, and I am just surprised how much money they're demanding.
Do you guys have any tips on how to get free/cheap phone use and internet over in the UK? I'm fine with any grey areas, since I'd probably have to.

Have you taken the brown pill yet, mateys?
it's a tough pill to swallow! The brown pill was founded in 1999 by Sir Reginald Brownpill, who presents and narrates the attached video.
Forget red and blue pills, brown pills are the way of the future.
Video related. Please leave your questions, comments, and concerns below about this radical new paradigm of thinking!

Poverty Feels
>get insulted today for being poorWelfare
Amerifat poorfag here. Thinking about getting on some government assistance for the first time. Was raised hardcore conservative, feel like a piece of shit for even considering it. For those that are one welfare/SNAP, etc… Is it easy? Is there a lot of stigma associated with it for you? Also, can it affect me down the road with creditors and employers? Thanks.Boards of the Week Archive
Still deciding how I'm going to manage the Arbitrary Boards of the "Week", because I hate to see personal favorites get taken off but I think cycling them will be positive for general traffic. Feel free to discuss the boards here and any ideas surrounding the whole issue.New Board
Fellow anons i made a new board 8ch.net/freetard/ to make provide everybody with anything for free, it doesnt have to be originally for free.
/dharma/
I was invited to advertise my new board >>>/dharma/ here. It's a Buddhist board for describing Buddhism, Indian philosophy/dharma, and anything related to it. We have a few posts so far and the discussions and resources are growing and useful. Like any philosophical/religious tradition that encourages or features monastic lifestyles, I'm sure it might appeal to some of you. Thanks!
