>>350this is semi-true…OP you have to ask yourself what motivates you to do your best. i.e. don't skimp on things that help keep you sane and energetic. some people can sleep on the floor, some people need a bed.
for me, turning off my refrigerator saved some money on the electric bill, but i had an old and inefficient fridge. pretty much the only thing you miss out on without a fridge is milk and meat. You should also look into getting a ~$20 rice cooker, it takes alot of the effort out of cooking as you just throw the rice, noodles, veggies, whatever in there and leave it alone. IMO a microwave is not very important to have, neither is an oven. but as i said before, choose your expenses according to what will keep you in high spirits.
clothing-wise, look at thrift stores, and at discount stores that sell the "damaged" stuff. alot of it is actually just fine and you can get shirts for $3-$5. Goodwill seems to be raising their prices, I would scope for other thrift stores before them. But they do carry packages of new socks and other "high quality liquidation items" as they put it.
