They are trying to spread bitcoins so it will raise its value and earn some real money too from advertising. You will earn bitcoins by visiting the faucets every hour and solving capthas.
If you're new at bitcoin i wouldn't suggest to download the program to make a wallet (you have to syncronize all the transactions on internet and it will take weeks and a lot of disc space).
Just use one of the internet wallet (I suggest you use XAPO) to have your own personal Bitcoin adress where you can receive bitcoins you earn from this faucets. All other explanation is in this link:
