how's work going?

 No.738

it's bad. still employed but hourly has been cut and I haven't had any work for the past 3 weeks.

this oil glut is killing me. i'm going to call my office tomorrow and see if anything has popped up.

 No.739

Kinda okay

I work at a resturant

We had a meeting (I work at a small business in Windhoek) and essentially all the cooks got a 1$ per day raise (so about 0.12 dollar an hour) at least in US conversions for you guys

 No.741

working two shitty minimum wage part time jobs

you know, living the american dream in my parents' house

 No.742

Finally getting a job after 6 months. Just waiting on the drug test. It won't be great but it will be something.

 No.745

Unemployed still, close to a year now. Working on an Android app that I hope to rake in some money with.

 No.814

still being threatened by my employer that I won't have a career after this if I don't perform

 No.825

I'm doing pretty well for myself. Work is steady and keeps me busy for most of the week. No fear of losing job because I live in a city with a great economy, and I'm good at what I do.

 No.826

>>814

I'm sorry, that's awful :(

>>825

good for you!

I'm a cook. Every single job in the past ten years except one hired me as a sous chef (Left an exec position to go to college, and left college to go back to cooking), then put me in a line position "auditioning" for the management role. Meaning I did the Sous job with sous responsibilities (ordering, inventory, management, Opening/Closing the kitchen, answering for everyone's fuckups, etc) for line cook wage for 6months-1.5 years I was there. Left each job when it became obvious they were jerking me around to accept another sous position where they did the exact same fucking thing. Currently been "auditioning" for the job I was hired for 6 months ago. Got a text yesterday from previous employer saying if I come back I'll be put into the Sous position.

MFW Bert.

>working minimum wage at a university jamba juice

>first check they fuck me out of over 12 hours of pay

>not going to see that money until my NEXT check, 2 weeks from now

Kill me

 No.867

Ok. I wish I could get paid more per hour.

$19.50 per hour isn't that much in the long run.

Especially after taxes taking $400 from me every two weeks.

 No.874

Hate it.

Butcher. It fucking sucks but with a 55 hour work week I have no time to do anything else. It's a grind and I dread every day.

 No.875

>>867

Yeah, but what, do you have kids to support or something? That's just beneath double what I'm making.

 No.881

For everyone at minimum wage or jobless I sincerely hope you are going to vote Trump.

10 million people less of which perhaps 3 million work would be perfect for us.

 No.886

Spent two years working in a locksmith supply shop and doing side work with the skills I learned there. Made enough to barely pay the bills. Having a pregnant wife in the middle of that was shit.

About two months ago I did a simple rekey for a strip mall owner, at my rather low rate. I havn't slept for more than two hours since, but I rekey, service doors, and all that shit for most of the small business owners in my area.

Wife kicked me out right before this. She says it is great I am doing well now, but I wasn't doing well when it mattered.

An old big company offered to buy my company and give me a five year work contract salary/hourly. 40 hours every week regardless of actual hours worked, and if I work over time, I get extra. They are also going to train me on bank hardware.

I want my daughter to have it better than me, so fuck it. Sell my soul to the man.

Thanks for all the cheap recipes and survival tips, my daughter might not had made it to term otherwise.

It's $40k/yr, which assuming you're unskilled labor is really good. About the only way to beat that is in a tipped position (delivery driver/server/bartender).

 No.894

It's ok, bust my ass but make above minimum

So met with my old boss. It actually is a Sous Position. The pay isn't great for Sous, but it's a fuckton more than I'm making on the Line, and the guy almost cried when I accepted (He made pretty clear how badly they needed me). So I had to take it.

>>858

The job I'm leaving never fucked me on my check, but one of the other cooks got hired at $11/hr, and they paid him minimum "training" wage for his first month, then took like two more months to correct it. Another guy transferred from food runner (Tipped out, so make like $2.50/hr) to cook and for the first week he was a cook they tried paying him the food runner rate (40 hr week he had a like $90 paycheck).

Kek.

Why didn't you kick her out for not making enough? It's 2015. Feminism and all that rot. She's a backwards hick if she expects the man in the relationship to provide for her ass.

>Living in Africa

Sounds fucking rough, m8

 No.922

Well, before she was pregnant she worked about 50 hours a week. During the pregnancy she couldn't stop puking and lost 40lbs. Honestly, she was too sick to do anything for most of it.

I tried every I could to find better work, and someone of the leads I followed then, is what got me what I have now. However, it barely covered bills, and both our savings got blown to bits.
