Hey /poverty/, Amerifat here, going to the UK for a week. Rang up my mobile company to see what the charges would be, since I've never left my country, and I am just surprised how much money they're demanding.

Do you guys have any tips on how to get free/cheap phone use and internet over in the UK? I'm fine with any grey areas, since I'd probably have to.

Britfag here. Just buy a cheap and shitty phone from a Cash Converters or some other kind of second-hand shop when you get here, then you can get pay-as-you-go Sim Cards for free or next to nothing, just go into a phone shop and ask for their most basic pay-as-you-go Sim and they will sort you out. Then you just top-up when you want and however much you want, and spend it when you call.
