Seeing a lot of videos on homesteading, cooking and skills. Are all these things worth my time or should I just get a job and hold on to it the best I can?

A combination is going to suit you best I think. I have lived on a commune and milked goats and such but I really wish I had gone to college, gotten a bachelor's degree, and gotten a good job. So, prioritize holding a job and getting an education. However, I am really glad for all of the cooking/skills I have learned, I now feel very confident cooking anything, with any ingredients and any tools available, and similarly from watching homesteading vids and doing some farm living I have random skills and knowledge that come in handy from time to time which feels good when you're in a tough situation.
