First of all: I love that this board exists.

Does anyone have any thoughts on making a reasonably convincing Facebook profile for your alter ego?

It's hard to explain away not having one if you're claiming to be a girl under 30. It's easy enough to set up a profile, but if all of your friends are porn bots and creepy Arabs who friend everyone, it's pretty easy to spot the fake.

Are you all just hoping guys won't check?

1) If you are pretending to be a 13 year old girl or younger, just tell them you don't have one. If they insist, tell them you just made one but haven't added any friends.
2) If you are over 13, and they ask for your facebook, just tell them you don't share it with strangers

I thought about trying something like this:

1. Find a rather large town (Just go on google maps)
2. Say you go too the middle school or high school (Whichever is applicable)
3. Add everyone who goes to the school or goes to the school near there. (You should have a huge amount of friends)
4. Have a large amount of pics that you can upload every once and a while.

6. Once you are found out/get bored then you can remake in another town. Preferably in another state.

I have no clue if this would work. I'm kinda drunk right now but that's my facebook plan. I imagine twitter would be really easy so just say you only use twitter because there's too much drama on facebook.

The group idea works, but the rub is that the groups dedicated to inflating friend numbers (they exist) are full of strange Indians that a teenage girl would not be friends with. Anyone looking at the page can tell its fake.

The school thing might work, though I think better at the college level. Fb guards against trolling high school kids (to avoid pedos doing basically this exact same thing for more evil reasons).

Frankly, 8chan, if this board exists, this is a problem we could solve. Start a group, liberally add each other's fake profiles and pepper in some seemingly genuine interactions to keep up appearances. That'd fool even skeptical guys if we did it right.

What age are you telling it you are? Sometimes sites will be nasty if they think you're young. Clear cookies and put an older age. Hide it if you don't want people to see.

I use to be really good friends with a group of people and me, my boyfriend, and the rest of the group would stay up all night playing games over skype and having a good time.

Then one day we all decided to trade facebooks and seeing what everyone looked like kind of killed the group :/ I know it's shallow but one guy was really fat and another was really young and idk know what they looked like destroyed this image I had in my head for all of them and changed the relationship D':

I don't think that's to shallow tbh. Its happened to me before except at the time I wasn't pretending.

Also you might try Tumblr, cuz you don't really need to have a strong follower base. Mostly just have a convincing amount of blogs you follow. I would say Instagram… but they can be pretty rough with fakers
