My voice changer isn't even good, it's the default female voice on MorphVOX Pro. Sounds like a 10 year old kid but low quality mic helps to cover that up.
I've easily been gifted over $650 worth of games and in-game items.

Has anybody else ever done this? Also I could use some better MorphVOX settings (or even a better voice changer) if anybody has one.

It's crazy how desperate some people are.
I wish I had a mic, or lived alone so that I could pretend, talk and get some money.

That sucks.
I don't live alone, but my walls are fairly soundproof, so when talking about this female life which I have created for myself, I don't need to be too worried about my family hearing me.
You could try to avoid talking about it in-game and just talk as if you're playing the game normally (which I do, until somebody talks to me or asks me a specific question), then type the rest in Steam chat if somebody adds you.

>getting gifts

This is why I want to be a girl…
I never received a gift in my life, it must feel so good. Just to get a thing out someone's kindness, it sounds so alien.

 No.90

I want to do this so badly but im shit at games and my pc is fairly shit too.
I'm more of a platformer gamer, and I suck dick at fps :(

Team Fortress 2 isn't too difficult to run, it's also fairly easy to pick up and play without a whole lot of skill.

I use MorphVOX Pro, I'm unsure if there are any better programs. If anybody else sees this and knows any better ones, I'd love to know.
Also, I do occasionally dress up while I play, but I live with my parents + brother, so it's only if I'm home alone and feel like playing.

>>99
You will occasionally run into some people who care about nothing other than winning the game, but it's not too bad overall.
Items aren't really a problem, I sell any TF2 items I get because although I play it a lot, I much prefer CS:GO.

>>102
There are basically two ways to do it.
The first way, which is easier but yields less friend requests, is to make your account kinda neutral. Don't indicate whether you are a male or female, and that way you can talk to/play with your regular friends who know you're a guy as well as talk to people who want to add you purely because they think you're female. You can add nicknames to your Steam friends, so I usually add G to the names of people who have added me and G+ to people who have bought me something.

The second way is to set up a second Steam account and make it obvious that it's the account of a female. You can use Steam family sharing to get the games you've already bought on your first account to be accessible on your second one. This method will make more people try to add you.

 No.126

Do you ever feel its unfair to get free stuff this way? I think I would if I genuinely liked the person. It would feel dishonest. I'd only feel ok getting gifts from people I don't really care for.

But if I try to get gifts that way, I'd be surrounding myself with people I don't like, which can't be good, and if I do start liking them, the friendship is founded on dishonesty.

But I wouldn't need to know them well, because I think the kind of guys who buy girls online gifts aren't the picky kind who like you for your personality, so all I'd need to do is flirt a bit, or nothing. Not like I'd need to build some elaborate false identity to con them. Just chat and say "please give" every time they mention a game.

You could argue they're not really being tricked. They're paying me gifts in exchange for the attention of someone they think is a girl. It's just an exchange, like paying for a service. Like paying for a prostitute. You don't expect her to genuinely love you, you just want to hear her say it. They get what they wanted, I get what I wanted, we're both better off. If they wanted more that what I'm genuinely giving them, they wouldn't be throwing games at random girls online.

I feel a bit bitter and resentful that I don't get gifts just because I'm not a girl. I didn't choose to be someone who's expected to give gifts for the attention of the opposite sex instead of someone who's expected to only give their attention in exchange for gifts. When I think this I feel that someone who buys into that sexism deserves to send their gifts to people they wouldn't if they know the whole truth.

>>72
Do you need a mic to get free stuff from being a girl?

>>74
>Just to get a thing out someone's kindness
It's not out of kindness. It's because they want to get into your pants. If not literally, then in the form of affection, pics and other favors.

>>98
How does the voice changer work? Is it easy to spot? Would someone hearing your irl, as you're speaking into the mic, be able to figure that you were having your voice changed, from your tone or something?

>I think I would if I genuinely liked the person. It would feel dishonest.
If I genuinely like them, I won't remove them, I'll keep playing with them as a girl. Not to get more gifts, but just because it can be boring going into games with nobody to talk to or play with. They like me, I like them. You could say that it's dishonest, but I guess it's difficult to pretend and be honest at the same time. The two don't really go together, unfortunately. At least we're still both happy at the end of the day, as you said.

>Do you need a mic to get free stuff from being a girl?

Not really, but it does help. If you don't have a mic, you'll need to make it obvious that your profile 'belongs to a female' and make sure you have a set of amateur selfies to convince people.

>How does the voice changer work?

It's just a program which converts your audio input to a different sound & that's what others hear. You won't hear it yourself. (unless you keep that option on, however I see it as unnecessary)

>Is it easy to spot?

I wouldn't say it's too easy, and usually the sound quality of your voice in-game helps to cover up any flaws.

>Would someone hearing your irl, as you're speaking into the mic, be able to figure that you were having your voice changed, from your tone or something?

Wasn't really sure what you means by this, are you asking, for example, if your friend/parent/sibling was standing behind you, if they'd know that you're talking into a voice changer? If so, then no. You can talk normally and the voice changer works fine. When I first started using the voice changer, I found myself raising my voice a little unintentionally. Just be conscious of that and you should be good to go.

>At least we're still both happy at the end of the day, as you said.
But there's that limit to how close you can get, and therefore to how happy you can get. I wonder how revealing that you're not a girl would go down after pretending for a long while and becoming good friends.

>and make sure you have a set of amateur selfies to convince people

I know there's a thread about this already, but where are good places for getting sets that won't be easily found out (recognised or image searched if someone's suspicious)?

>You won't hear it yourself. (unless you keep that option on, however I see it as unnecessary)

Why do you see it as unnecessary? I'd have thought it would help get into character?

>usually the sound quality of your voice in-game helps to cover up any flaws

What are the flaws? Maybe you could learn to be girlier in voice in those specific ways, to help cover the change's flaws.

Will the changer work well for plain chatting, like skype, outside a game?

>are you asking, for example, if your friend/parent/sibling was standing behind you, if they'd know that you're talking into a voice changer?

Yes, that's what I meant, thanks.

>When I first started using the voice changer, I found myself raising my voice a little unintentionally. Just be conscious of that and you should be good to go.

>where are good places for getting sets that won't be easily found out
I use Facebook and Twitter to get pictures. (see >>133 and pic related, it's the girl I'm pretending to be right now. The picture saved from Twitter & doesn't come up in a reverse image search) I don't really use nudes any more, so I'm not sure where to look if that's what you want.

>Why do you see it as unnecessary? I'd have thought it would help get into character?

I suppose it could help you get into character, however I just got familiar with the voice beforehand. The reason I don't keep the voice turned on for myself is because it's too loud imo, and usually feeds back the audio a fraction of a second late and so acts sort of like a Speech Jammer at times. (look it up if you're unsure what a speech jammer is)

>What are the flaws?

It just won't make you sound 100% like a girl. If you can, also altering your real voice might help. (Like raising it up a bit)

>Maybe you could learn to be girlier in voice in those specific ways, to help cover the change's flaws.

I've been meaning to learn how to raise my adams apple (or whatever the method is) to make myself sound like a girl. It's probably very difficult I imagine, however. But yes, you could probably help to cover the flaws by making yourself sound slightly girlier while speaking.

>Will the changer work well for plain chatting, like skype, outside a game?

It should, however I haven't tried. Try using it and calling the Skype call testing service (echo123) and see how it sounds.

>Does raising your voice help immerse yourself?

I suppose it does, at times I sort of forgot that I was using a voice changer. Felt good. If you can raise your voice a little, then do. If your voice sounds girly on the voice changer anyway and you want to raise your voice, then make the pitch a little lower and you can raise your voice to make it sound girly again.

>Does it help your voice pass?

It might, it really depends on how your voice sounds normally with the changer. Try recording your voice and playing it back so you can see if it sounds passable.

I delete sets once I finish using them, but as said in >>163, Facebook and Twitter are good places to look. Just search around there on some random profile for a while until you find somebody with a lot of pictures. A good place to start is on a popular celebrity's tweet/post. Find somebody who's replied to/commented on that. Then, if that person doesn't have enough pictures, look at the profiles of people they've tweeted at, etc, etc.

Team Fortress 2 is good because it's so popular and easy to start playing. I mainly play that whenever I'm pretending. CS:GO is decent if you're willing to buy the game. I'm not sure what MMOs are good for it, I haven't really had the chance to play any, and so I wouldn't really be able to give you any titles.
