I absolutely would.
I think that some day humans will be able to preserve consciousness, and likely seat the consciousness into robots, cybernetic and eventually vat grown bodies. I imagine that human beings will be able to "wear" the gender, race and appearance that they identify with, and will have the option of switching more or less at will. There will be backlash, of course. Legal questions will need resolution, as will ethical questions, reproductive policies and a lot of social evolution will need to take place to eliminate casual prejudice. But, I think that at the end of it you will be able to be who you want to, and you won't have to worry about disease or death.
However, most of my fantasies regarding being a girl revolve around keeping it a secret. No one would know who I really will be, all they know is that I'm sexy as hell, giggly and easy. Some day… sigh.
