I know a lot of programmers who hate JavaScript are very vocal about it, but it seems this inflates the perceived amount of hate to JS.

What is the general attitude to JS? and by 'general' I mean 'the regular programming population', not just your opinion on it.

The regular programming population is a bunch of sheeple who can't create a simple page without a framework telling them how to code and where to put it. JS has flaws but is pretty cool. The worst part of it is the host environment and objects provided by browsers.

js is a clusterfuck, it's impossible to write large software with it without wanting to kill yourself from debugging bad values that cause problems miles away from where they were created.
