So I went back to TERA again. I find it really boring. Just lots of:
1) Go here
2) Kill
3) Gather
The social aspect is limited too and completely separate from the game itself until you participate in guild battles at max level. Only then does the game begin to be fun? At least that's what I've heard. Until then it's just grind, grind, grind.
I think a good RPG first of all would let you become your character. Second, the world would be alive.
Third, you would need to interact with other players in the game to progress at a more reasonable speed.
Fourth, how about a game that doesn't rely on skill points? So that the only thing that matters is player skill.
Maybe I'm just jaded, but I'd rather watch and anime or read manga. Honestly the reason I'd play a MMO is for the interaction with other players. To the point that you could even make friends? Forget the list above. This should be the #1 priority. After all that's what a game is good for, bringing people together for a shared interactive experience. Something that's often difficult to do in IRL. For all the people in the world, I am really alone.
