eecf88 No.133
Just taking this little spot, I’m making this thread to avoid cluttering 4chan /tg/ since I don’t have any kind of irc/group chat anyway; I’ve linked this thread with my twitter.
First off, I’d like to apologize for being a little overzealous on twitter, that wasn’t my most brilliant moment and I got swayed by emotions but I’ve taken a step back. The whole debacle is still a good reason to come out and talk tough, in the past I did mention if you guys would like to move out of /tg/ and I’m reiterating it now – I do still plan to make a thread Monday (if everything goes well on my end) so we won’t be late in our update – but I’ll simply say why I’m tempted to drop 4chan (especially /tg/) and move on to greener pasture (which may simply be a trap, /qu/ isn’t very active as you can see).
I’ve been doing my quest for three years now, hell it’s been listed as the oldest running one, despite it all we don’t exactly have a whole lot of players and no matter how much I stayed in /tg/ that stayed true; I’ll always be grateful for anyone that decide to read it up and then play even if it means a single person per 3 months or so but facts remains that we’ve become sort of a merry bunch on /tg/, allowed our little space per week so as far as I’m concerned transplanting might not be too hard.
Still I do have a motivation other than wanting new player for this wish of moving on; not a whole lot of people know about it (and I kept it to myself in threads) but I’ve grown disgruntled over 4chan /tg/ with the years. I barely browse it at all anymore despite loving the atmosphere previously (it was one of the main reason why I even made MGQ and kept doing it). Maybe I’m just too nostalgic over good old /tg/, but I don’t feel like I have a place there anymore.
Regardless maybe I’m just overdramatizing; I’ve had a dangerous pitfall with a serious writer block which is thankfully starting to clear up, would you guys prefer to stay on /tg/? I'm being as honest as I can now.

/qu/ is not very active, yet you can be one of the fist to help 8chan fix this.
bbd690 No.135
>>133You could do what Deculture is doing and finish the quest on /tg/ for the archiving features and what-not, considering it's been running for so long. Then start your next few here.
eecf88 No.136
>>134I don't see myself as some sort of genesis; after 3 years of questing on /tg/ I've sort of abandoned any hope to get new blood on there anyway, I’ve got a core cast of players that stayed with me despite it all so it simply wouldn’t do for me to go and move over without asked for opinions.
Thank for the input tough.
359841 No.137
you have one of the longest running quests on 4chan, and maybe you can help your writers block by doing another project here on 8chan, a sort of new beginning.
eecf88 No.139
>>135That's another good point, but then my quest isn't MGNQ in term of popularity, I've been thinking I could quite simply, archive with pastebins while keeping every subsequent update on my computer if things were to disappear.
Of course that doesn't replace sup/tg/ since the thread itself is saved on there, but then again threads on /qu/ will probably last a while too. That's a plus in my book.
>>137That's another thing as well, I -DO- have another project in mind in the MGQ world I've created which I'm sure all my regulars would be intrigued by but I have a bad history when it comes to multi-quest since I ended up dropping Muvluv Alternative and before that, Trapped in Dimension.
8f0d70 No.140
I'm a bit indifferent on where the quest is - I'll go and play wherever the monster girls are.
If the quest move off of 4chan you'll probably want to start saving the threads manually if there aren't any archives available.
eecf88 No.141
>>140That's what I'Ve been thinking of doing, I can always grab a pastebin with my writing for all the threads.
Of course that'll mean losing most of the speculations, but I could always save the important ones too. That or, quite simply, keep the thread alive on /qu/ since the board is slow.
bbd690 No.142
>>140This is basically my stance on it.
I wouldn't mind seeing it continue on 4chan, especially given that 8chan -could- be unstable, given recent events.
That said, if you want to run a quest here that is AToM I'd follow it.
eecf88 No.144
>>142Thank for the input.
The idea of finishing AToM on /tg/ for the archive then quitting the site afterward does sound pretty good in my opinion. Since I'm starting to re-energize and get out of my block we'll be able to reach our end before long.
I think I might go with that solution, I've been working off-hand here and there about that quest with Mother Earth, I could always do that one at my pace.
65f2a9 No.172
>>144Sounds like a good idea. Just hope you do finish it man, I like your work and I really want to see how this ends. To many great quests just up and stop, it's sad really.
eecf88 No.173
>>172With all the time and effort I put into the quest stopping it altogether would make me feel like I've failed as a person. Sure I ca ntake a break, maybe a month long break if I really need it, but I have no intention of stopping.
5f2435 No.206
>>133I'll be honest I actually am a new player that was attracted on 4chan about 2 months ago. It took me a while to read up to this point. unfortunately because of timing and work I have not been able to catch a thread while it is live. Please keep me up to date. Also don't worry the new blood is out there it just takes forever to catch up.
eecf88 No.210
>>206Thank for your input, I have to admit that I don't really have any idea how to atract new blood; there's a dutiful anons making summary and aside from shilling the quest there's no real way to invite people over.
65f2a9 No.211
>>206Part of the reason I make a summary. Sadly, given how it is 3 years worth of threads even it is still quite long as I try to get all the potentially relevant stuff in there.
It's a complex tale, and many seemingly minor details may be vital for some reason (like in a good detective novel). Don't know which are and aren't though, so my trimming isn't perfect. I also tend to finish including the latest update into it just prior to the next one going live. I've a major problem with procrastination you see. Still, good to see we do get some new blood here and there.
eecf88 No.219
>>211I'Ve also got a big procrastination problem so I feel you on that.
As for new blood, the new arc with Athena going down south could actually be seen as a sort of seperation that wouldn't be too connected to the overall overarching plot, it's the kind of things I try t d o, mostly.
There's alot of history but new blood can always come in, read the thread, observe the problem and vote/offer a solution, but you'd need knowledge of the story when, say, we talk with Tsukiyomi over battlefield tactic/plot to find the traitor.
65f2a9 No.224
>>219Ah the traitor. Liking how you're keeping us guessing BTW. The Tanuki seems the obvious culprit, but as often happens the obvious suspect is in fact a great ally. Just as planned, by the true villain of course.
Oh how close yet so far we may be. Good thing the main party is largely immune to being the asshole. I doubt people like Kyorn and the girls would lose in a contest of wills against Deruella even before the quest commenced. So it has to be someone else. Too bad for us that can be damn near anyone we ain't had much of any meaningful and emotional contact with (like Tanuya, knows us, but can't really be considered part of the 'inner circle'). I'd be going full shadowrun mode if even the likes of Hadraniel could fall victim to that branch of mindfuckery.
Wouldn't work out too well for Siggy as well. If he had to suspect *everyone* the man would quickly go insane. He loves them all, hard to point a gun at the head of such people. Even harder it is, to pull the trigger. Especially if the bullet involves a piece of the soul, to make damn sure it kills.
eecf88 No.227
>>224It's real fun to keep you guessing.
What do you think of the newly awakened protagonist? I'm trying my best to make her feel similar yet distinct compared to Siegfried, but I think having two protagonist was a boon to the quest.
65f2a9 No.234
>>227Every good story, in my head, needs multiple protagonists. No one man can save or alter the world by themselves. It's a kind of team effort, even if the so called protagonists are working against each other for some reason.
For example, look at how so called "movements" are started. One man says or does something. He's alone, a single grain of sand in a vast desert, at first. It isn't until he or she gains their "first" follower that the ball actually gets rolling. The one becomes two, two becomes four, in time, if it is acceptable to the masses and then not stopped somehow by the powers that be, Shit changes to suit the movement. For good or ill, the "lone nut" gains a following and that gains results.
We have multiple nuts here. Siggy, Lex, Rosario, Tsu, Ame, Haddy, the other girls, ect. In the end they all subscribe to the same ideology by and large with only minor differences here and there.
"Fuck the BS you've been told, we can ALL live in peace!" is their creed in one form or another.
It's a powerful message, peace and friendship I mean. A real pity it runs contrary to the ideologies of our three remaining primary antagonists/bosses for one reason or another.

Anyway thank for the chat, wE'll continue on /tg/ sorely for the archive, that's about the best action I can think of. For now, if this place spawn its own archive I don't think I have any excuses not to jump.

>>238That ya did, one of the prime reasons I love this. Ya don't seem to hold anything back, and that is something I respect in a GM. Let it out I say, I eagerly await the opportunity to derail your plans for suffering.
>>236Hot Female "Guts" needs to catch a break somehow yes. Her lover is still alive despite all this so that may qualify. I'd really like her to land a devastating blow against the fullmetal angel. Dig that bloody spear right through an eye as he charges us as she quips a good one liner.
May have killed what INH said was an embodiment of "Humanity Fuck Yeah" sentiments when we brained Ahriman, but that doesn't mean there ain't other examples out there. Look down on us at thine own peril you bastard. We here for a damn good reason.
Our lives are short, our magic may not even compare to the monsters in the brute strength department, but there is still ample reason why you don't fuck with humans. Mylen is an example of that. Anyone with "Eye of the Mind: True" is a foe one does not take lightly by anyone.
>>240Tsu still a great girl. The fluffy tails themselves sing to us and we cannot resist. You do good work INH, definitely telling my kind of story you are.
eecf88 No.245
>>242I don't believe so!
>>243
>Hot Female "Guts" needs to catch a break somehow yes.You think I'll ever give her one?
HA! 65f2a9 No.246
>>245Still gonna hope for one. Hell, Siggy even surviving this without becoming an empty shell would be awesome for her. Well, he can still be empty, but if even one warm memory of his love for her remains it'll be great.
She wants him to be hers and hers alone. If his only memory of love in the end is of her then she has essentially attained her goal. She wants him to be hers, I doubt she cares very much how that happens.
Could be wrong though, maybe she loves the tortured look on his face during all this. Love takes many forms, and I bet she has a sadistic side to her we seldom get to see. All speculation on my end mind you.
eecf88 No.248
>>246I feel like I should focus on everyone equally but I dunno if its possible or not, but I think we do need some more time with Mylen as well. Hmm…well, that's something to brain storm

I'm just going to say, if you do decide to run the quest here, someone's going to need to at least archive it in word or something.
As far as I know there's no archive here for people to catch up or read past sessions.
f23749 No.2738
I can't believe this thread is still alive. Might as well make use of it.
f23749 No.2739
Alright folks, as you’ve no doubt seen from my recent few updates I haven’t been able to do much good in the quest, reason for that is unfortunately tied with my dwindling motivation; I don’t really feel like I’m writing a good quest anymore and that’s a belief that has been gnawing at me since the beginning of summer this year. I think the quest itself has become too bloated for its own good, I’ve tried several things and failed at times but also succeeded at others, mainly the choices I’m offering and the story itself has been draining – I love the world and characters but the rest of the quest feel too bloated, irritating to write despite my best attempt at giving a new protagonist for some fresh air.
I’m not saying I want to give up, what I do think I need to do is a major revamp – a reboot of sort, something that will allow all the experiences and time we’ve spent to mean something as well as clearing up all the lingering mysteries and confusion so we can try and start fresh with old problems, I’ve already come up with quite a few ideas instead of being forced to sit down and pull out content like I usually do.
Anyway that’s my state of mind and I think it’s important to share with my players, I feel like that if I were to continue with the way things are I’ll simply implode or just be, quite simply, unable to do what I should as QM.
95e9b9 No.2740
>>2739I don't really know what to say, to be honest.
I'll try to keep up with whatever direction you take it, though.
What were your initial plans?
f23749 No.2741
>>2740Honestly I think I wrote myself in a corner with my imposed 30 days limit, I haven'T been able to do so much of the things I wanted due to the time cosntraint that I grown incredibly frustrated with this peculiar thing.
What I have in mind is to, quite simply, provide a reason in story to completely break the cycle, provide a very needed change to the plot without doing away with the core cast that I've grown to like.
You could think of it as saying our current
alternative path was actually a doomed timeline.
f23749 No.2754
Now I may have grown disgruntled but I'm not saying I'm hating the quest or writing it, it just that I've begun to feel stifled, I've made a lot of mistakes here and there and they've begun to pile up too much for my liking but I’m not saying I’ll stop altogether, if you guys really don’t want a ``reboot`` and forge ahead despite my reluctance I’ll try my best to provide.
>>2740As for my original plans
I can’t say I had any big, obvious ones; I kept myself flexible due to the interactive nature of the quest, it’s just that I’ve simply imposed a strict time limit that doesn’t allow me to explore the myriads of scenes I wanted, I’m thinking of making a ``redo`` of sort as you incarnate Mana and Siegfried.
07f61d No.2768
>>2741>current alternative path was actually a doomed timeline. That kind of feels like saying that all of our planning and working towards this goal is going to get lost, though.
If it was doomed, then we need to start over. That means losing all physical progress we've made, all of the contingencies.
Even if we start over with the relationships between Siegfried and the girls intact, that's still going to be starting all over again.
f23749 No.2772
>>2768Most of it could be dealt with a healthy amount of timeskip but I certainly see your point, you’ve made me think of something tough, maybe we could have our cake and eat it too.
Instead of outright terminating the quest I could instead propose something of a sidestory concerning Mana because there’s a few key things she –has- to do, I still haven’t given you all the tools and chances you need to grasp the victory that’s been eluding us and that’s what had me tears my hair out, more than the overabundance of characters, really. Instead of calling it quit and erase our progress, I could simply make this sdequest I’ve had on my backlog and through it, accomplish the last few things we need, it’ll also give me the breath of fresh air I need, too.
That’ll require a slight hiatus of ToM
07f61d No.2776
>>2772I think a small hiatus and doing a side-quest in order to do everything we need to do is better than losing all of our progress so far.
If we weren't given the chances and the tools that make victory possible because of time constraints, that's probably better than wiping the slate clean and starting over.
Unless we start over with a massive boost to what we have, and can somehow make up our losses quickly.
f23749 No.2779
>>2776My idea was that every girls mind would stay whole, everyone would obviously know what happened with the loops but Ithink the sidequest would be a nice way to circumvent it…provided people succeed of course, I just haven't been able to give the proper tools yet.
07f61d No.2781
>>2779Alright, that was the one thing I was worried about.
Though we'd still have to get the girls together, the Yukionna girls together, still save Amarantha again, deal with the Swamp again, kill the people we need to kill again, and all that.
f23749 No.2783
>>2781Yeah but you'd also be completely free of the 30 days time constraint, essentially the sidequest will be about breaking this Fate, thus allowing time to flow back in a proper manners.
dd9b0f No.2784
How much "stuff" is there left to do?
07f61d No.2786
>>2783If you think that this sidequest and the reset are effectively the same thing (getting rid of the time limit to let us get to all of the chances to get the tools we need to win), then it does sound like the sidequest is better since it lets us keep our progress so far.
But what about the fact that the big war-determining battle is in one more day?
f23749 No.2789
>>2784Not much, I've simply written myself in a bit of a corner and couldn't really see a solution until now alongside the fact I've been having a hard time with my inspiration and motivation.
>>2786Wars take longer than 30 days but the big battle itself will happen - with the results set in stones, even so, it might not spell the end of the church crusade.
07f61d No.2791
>>2789>Wars take longer than 30 days but the big battle itself will happenBut I'm talking about how we're supposed to have all of the tools we need, but the battle takes place tomorrow.
f23749 No.2792
>>2791Oh, don't worry about that, the big battle has all been prepped up nicely, it's what happen after that had me ripping my hair. Also, if everything goes right on my end I might do the next thread monday, I think finishing Athena adventure should come first.

>>2772Ah… Mana probably has to go around making the whole peace thing more acceptable to the greater masses of humanity, or at least to church higher ups.
Almost makes me sympathetic to Ahriman. He hated monsters but didn't like how humanity's basically being set up to be the angel faction's bitch. Pity that monster hate was a kind of lynchpin in both schemes, means killing one doesn't negatively impact the other's efforts that much.
