Ok /qu/estscum. Reactivating a thread that should never have died. You are a deity who feeds off of the worship of mortals, you need the mortals to recognise and revere you. The more people who do so, the more powerful you become and the greater the miracles you can perform.
To begin with you must have a name, it must be a name which reflects the sort of being you desire to become. It must be a name which in time the mortals will recognise to either fear or love. Next you must enact the birth of your God/Goddess, this takes the form of a vision which is given to a chosen one. The contents of the vision is decided by you, please think carefully about what you are going to tell the human and also chose carefully who you are going to reveal yourself to. Once your prophet has been chosen and you have revealed yourself to him/her then the prophet will go about spreading your word, as this happens according to the contents of your vision, myths of what powers you have begin to spread. As these myths are told your God gains the powers described in the myths: for instance if people claim you can roast people alive then you gain the power of spontaneous combustion.
From then on you use your powers to influence the world around you and gain more followers, if you begin to lose followers then your powers will diminish. If a God is forgotten then a God will die, thus you must ensure they worship you in any of the following ways:
Prayer- One of the most obvious, this is people invoking your name asking for help or just thanking you. This can also be done through song or prose. It is one of the weaker forms of worship although due to its ease it can often be done quite commonly and will allow your followers a much easier time blending into society.
Sacrifice- The most powerful form of worship due to it involving the giving of life to assert your glories. Animal sacrifice is fairly common, and is not morally frowned upon although the poorer members of society may avoid your religion out of necessity. Human sacrifice is far more potent, although other Gods can attempt to usurp you due to its unpopularity. Sacrifice is easier to maintain in times of desperation among your human subjects.
Construction- The second most powerful, this can range from the carving of idols to the building of huge temples. Your powers are increased around lands which are consecrated to you and you can have a much easier time in casting more permanent miracles.
Fear- If people actively fear your God's name being spoken and tremble at the thought of you then you will grow in power. However this prevents you from gaining more benevolent powers, so while it may be easy for the terrified humans to whisper about how you cause pillars of fire to rain down on the Earth they are far less likely to ever say anything nice about you. Thus cementing your role as malevolent being, you would have to work far harder if you had a change of heart…
You are born into Ancient Greece, this is not the Greece of Earth, this is the Greece of mythology during the Dawn of the Age of Heroes. There are no great empires, no great marvels, and the land is torn up between various warring city states.
And Gods are emerging in the world ready to gain power over the mortals.
You can join this game at any time, to join simply state the name of your God/Goddess, who your prophet is (his job, where in the world he/she lives and any other important details you want the GM to know) and what you are going to show him in the vision of you (are you going to give him a horrific nightmare of an evil God? Or are you going to tell him to go forth and spread your name? just think about what you would reveal to a human to make him want to respect you how are you going to persuade him that you exist). Note you do not have powers unless the GM (myself) says you do, otherwise you are limited to just appearing in dreams and visions. However as myths of you spread and the number of your followers increases you gain the ability to perform miracles pretty quickly. The first initial miracles may seem weak thus forcing you to be inventive to attain more followers.
This game is very much you post an action and the GM will post what effects that action has upon the world. So let us begin, those interested please post the information requested above.

I send a flash of inspiration to a philosopher interested in aeolipyles, Antikythera mechanisms and similar devices, imparting upon him inspiration of the design for a small, steam powered brass construction able to drive in a straight line, as well as the knowledge that this curiosity was a gift from the god Gideon.

http://w11.zetaboards.com/Apotheosis_RP/index/ Check this out, it is the original game that started this off, check out the newbie tips so you don't fag up your deity. Remember, the only thing you control is your spirit as it achieves apotheosis, and its' prophet. I grant you your powers. You are unable to physically affect anything at this point, you can only rely on illusions and promises of power that can only manifest if your chosen prophet believes what you say/show.

This is your sandbox for now. If we actually take off this time, I may have to expand it, like the original (which now covers parts of northern Europe like England and Wales etc)
Note; Only the GM may place you in a location, so be patient and don't pre-empt.

Thank you, based anon. Hope that you'll manage to keep it going.
One thing though. GM in the original Apothesis thread posted the world map with his every update. Homever it was always the "vanilla" map, without any indication who controls which territories. This has made shit very confusing indeed, at least for me. I'd be grateful if you decide to post maps with "influence zones" marked as colours or something every once in a while.
Right, onto the game. Would have posted earlier but I had some doubts about my deity.
______
Name: Mortis
I send a vision to a travelling healer, attending the sick in a village infested with a lethal plague. I appear as a tall, robed female, standing on a field blooming with red roses. The robe completely covers my body, except the left arm and casts a shadow on my face. I keep my right arm concealed inside the robe for some reason.
I take a stroll around the roses, the vision has somewhat of serene nature… Then I begin to speak, in a calm, beautiful, and somehow motherly voice.
"They're passing…"
Several roses wither and die.
"Every single day…"
Another handful of roses die.
"You did what you could…"
Now the roses next to the next dead ones start withering away as well, death of the flowers spread in every direction.
"But mortal medicine was not enough…"
Entire field is now covered in dead roses, except a single rose. I stop in front of it.
"And now the plague has reached you as well…"
The rose slowly starts withering away.
"Your rose is fading, mortal. Homever…"
I pick the rose with my left hand.
"You could still save yourself."
I gently rub it and it sparkles to life again.
"And all those who still walk the mortal plane…"
I put down the rose and it takes roots in the soil again. Then I slowly raise my hand, and all roses, except the first ones to die, sparkle to life again.
"Turn yourself to my name and I shall banish the plague from your body. Then tell everyone suffering from it to do the same…"
I pause for a while.
"My name is Mortis, human. One side of my nature is Life and Healing. The other…"
I pause again for a moment.
"You will learn in time."
The vision fades.

Updates may take a little while, I am keeping track of events and such in yWriter5, and as to areas of influence on the map, if i can do some transparency shit I will assign you /qu/estfags colours. I will have a better map with river names and shit because I am doing research and stuff.
Gideon: The philosopher tinkerer, one Anaxagoras, snaps out of his receptive daze, and promptly writes this simple yet elegant solution to the perplexing issue he had had with his latest design. Shaking his head at the apparent whimsy of this Gideon, he takes himself to his workshop, forgetting his breakfast in his excitement, and ensconses himself within, directing his slaves to leave him undisturbed for the rest of the day. He works until the light is too poor to continue, and produces a small working model. While he is grateful to this new entity for showing him what was wrong, this was still mostly his thought-child. He falls asleep that night satisfied with the events, hoping for another idea.

Miracles: You can communicate with your prophet Anaxagoras through flashes of inspiration, information, or knowledge.
Home location: Eretria, Euboea
Mortis: Iason, waking from his vision, looks down at himself in disbelief, he'd started feeling lethargic and fevered the previous evening, and knew that he had at most another day or two in which to help these poor souls before succumbing to the same illness wreaking havoc on this small village. Now, he felt rejuvenated, as if he had slept a week. With the remembered scent of roses spurring his belief in the vision, he looked around himself. In the tiny cottage where he was attending an entire family stricken down, he gathered the conscious ones and related to them the contents of his vision. Knowing the futility of their plight, having nothing to lose, they turn to this 'Mortis' in desperate supplication. As each persons belief and hope reaches a critical mass, they fall asleep, waking an hour later completely healed. As Iason rushes from house to house, imploring the conscious to attempt this miraculous healing, those unable to hear slip deeper into unconsciousness, and quietly die. Everyone who is in the grip of this malaise quickly converts. As they see loved ones, who had been fast approaching death, wake from this deep sleep in perfect health, the few remaining who had not yet become diseased also flock to your name. Some few of these question why not everyone was saved though, and are grieved for lost loved ones.

Miracle: You can communicate with your prophet through visions and dreams, and Iason can heal others by the laying on of hands. This is accompanied by the smell of wild roses, which has become a physical sign of your manefestation.

God: Nediar
In a burning city-state, a young girl, separated from her family, is cornered in the space between two structures by a pair of barbarous thugs. Alone and afraid, she begins to cower, the two drawing nearer as she prays silently for any help that might come.
A defeaning silence takes root as a vision flashes in her mind. She witnesses herself, grown tall and aged, a hilt from which lightning spews lashing at her enemies. From her heart, the fear is gone; replaced with anger.
"I am Nediar; Warrior God of Justice, and Resistence," He claims. The man before her screams as his own bronze blade slices through his heart. "Pledge yourself to be my blade, and by your hand any sword you carry will deliver righteous justice with a fury and swiftness most men could never attain."

>>2006>>2009Gideon: Anaxagoras snaps awake in the early hours of the new day, yet another modification burning on his mind. He offers up a prayer of thanks to Gideon, and, lighting the lamp from his bedside, moves to his workshop, pausing only to gather some papyrus and ink. He directs the slave who assists him in his work-room (and also sleeps there) to light all the lamps, and to place bronze mirrors behnd them to brighten the room further. The slave, a favoured man of intelligence and education, questions his master at the uncharacteristic early rising, given that he rarely rose before dawn, preferring natural light to work by. Anaxagoras explains his flashes of inspiration, and the ramifications of the steam-powered devices. He mentions the name Gideon as the progenitor of these flashes of insight. He is so convincing that the slave, whose name was Orestes, sends a prayer of thanks to the deity. His master was usually never this excited about any of his projects, often giving up in frustration when his erratic brilliance failed to over-come some flaw of design. His ideas were ambitious, and often suffered for lack of the right materials.
Orestes spreads the word among the other slaves of the household, some of whom start to believe in Gideon, and by word of mouth, some of Anaxagoras's old students hear of his new breakthroughs. Their curiousity whetted, 5 approach their old master, wondering at his sucesses.

New Miracle: You can communicate with your prophet Anaxagoras and your followers through flashes of inspiration, information, or knowledge. You can contact your Prophet in visions, and may now speak to him within the vision.
Nediar: Dikephoros opens her eyes from the sudden vision, knowing what to do. The man approaching her was confident of his victory, holding his blade loosely in anticipation of the easy mark before him. As he steps within range, she charges straight at him. His carelessness and and negligence allows her to snatch his blade, and she jams it between his ribs with both hands, just as the vision showed her. His eyes wide in disbelief, he sinks to his knees, before falling over dead. The second man takes one look into her eyes and turns tail, looking elsewhere for his entertainment.
The young woman turns back to the dead man, and tries pulling the blade from his flesh, eventually succeeding by bracing her foot against his chest and yanking with both arms. She slumps beside the carcass in relief, and starts laughing hysterically, til she is crying. She kneels by the corpse and bows her head, sending up a heartfelt prayer of thanks for her deliverance, asking what this deity wishes of her now.

>>2014Appear before Anaxagoras as a mass of cogs, springs and gears. The whirring and clicking and such of the mechanics form into an inhuman voice that speaks to the philosopher. "I am Gideon. I am pleased with your progress and therefore come to grant you another insight. There is a critical flaw in Aristotle's laws of motion. But rather than simply make the claim, I invite you to see for yourself. Have two spheres of brass made, each the size of a fist. Fill one with air and the other with water along with your senior students, then go to the roof of a tall building and drop both to the ground at the same time. Your students shall be made to observe what happens and tell you the results."
Not sure if you read the other thread. Also not sure if you know this or not. According to Aristotle's laws the heavier sphere (the water filled one) would fall faster. This is incorrect. The truth is they will hit the ground simultaneously. 51139c No.2016

You, and others brave enough to stand with you, are to become Marauders; enforcers of justice and slayers of tyrants– the advocate of the oppressed and savior of the downtrodden," He claims.
Nediar marks the woman; blue electricity crackling in her eyes. Any who lock eyes with her shall see the sparkling jolts behind her iris; and will hear in their ears a distant thunderclap heralding Nediar's will in the back of their mind.
"So long as you carry your sword in the name of Righteousness, I shall permit it to never miss its mark. To this end, I hereby task you to become the thing that all vile creatures fear. And that, I promise you, you shall be."

I fucking knew a new turn would totally pop up while I was at Uni
Mortis sends another vision. This time she takes a stroll through a forest. Roses are scattered all around it. Her robe still casts a shadow on her face, but from her movements, it appears that she seems to be deep in thought.
"Some lives can be prolonged… Others can not."
Suddenly, leaves begin to turn yellow, and fall from the trees. Season seemed to have changed to Fall, all the roses have died. Moment after, the forest is suddenly covered by snow. Winter. Then comes Spring. Roses blossom again.
"Life. Death. Both are fundaments of mortal world. Yet, none seem to be respected by the mortals."
Seasons continue changing in a great speed, roses blossom and die, over and over.
"There are other plagues in this world than diseases, mortal. But I think you're aware of it…"
She pauses for a while.
"Greed. Egoism. They have many names. Someone who saw lepers locked up in ghettos and treated like animals should know. This world lacks respect for life and death, mortal, and you cannot respect one without respecting another."
Season changes to Spring again and stays like that, roses blossom again. Mortis stops in a field of dead roses.
"Have the villagers bury their dead. Do it slowly and carefully, for everyone who follows me must pay great respect to the passed. Tell them to invoke chants to me and the dead, and I will help their souls pass away peacefully."
She places her left hand in the middle of the dead roses. Vines emerge from the ground, and cover them. Several flowers begin to grow on the vines, though none of these are roses.
"After the ceremony they may ask you questions, seek relief. If they do, ask them if they every thought about what would the dead wish their living relatives to think about their passing… Deep inside they know. Tell them that the Goddess has spoken, that the dead wish for the living to hold on to memory, but leave the grief…"
She falls silent and looks down at the vines.
"When the night falls, they are to visit the graves of their relatives, in the moment that suits them the most. They are to say their last goodbyes and cry all the tears they need, until they have none left. Then have them return to their homes. They shall light a single candle in every home to honour their loved ones, and turn their minds to memories of them. Tell them not to think about their deaths and the fact that they are gone, but rather about their lives and the fact that they were alive to begin with…"
She raises her head.
"Then, when the sun sets again, gather everyone in the center of the village. Tell them that the Goddess asks men and women strong enough to travel and capable of living a life of devotion, to be my acolytes. Those who agree, are to wear simple robes and prepare themselves for journey. Tell them that we shall attend peoples wounds, diseases and souls for their souls are tainted as well…"
The vision fades.

"What force has brought me to this place?" Scipio cried out.
"I have brought you to carry out my will as the chosen one." said a voice booming from beyond the smoke
Scipio said "Why should a enforce your will in lands unknown to a being I have never met?"
"For should you be my messenger you will reign as a king until the end of your days, your closest men as lords." The voice said
seeming to come from behind him now
"And what would you have me do?" the man asked spinning around to find the speaker.
"I would have you assault the town, kill the guards but take what ever ones are still alive and have them quarter in the town square to die of thrist."
The voice whispered into his ear as if it was behind leaning over his shoulder.
"Tell the townsfolk that you are their new lord and they will obey you and find themselves brought up as your loyal citizens or they can join what ever is left in the town square to rot."
"NOW BEGONE!" it screamed and with it the vision ended.

"You have struck a harsh blow against the darker side of humanity; you have met brutality with the end of our blades and triumphed. This power I give to all of you; to change the world for better, it is your solemn duty to carry and use."
"All bearers of blades, hear me this," He says, allowing the electricity to flow behind the eyes of those kneeling at the altar. "So long as you carry the sword by your hip, you must follow my Guides.
The first; A Blade Drawn demands blood. Draw your weapon only when words have failed to slay the darkness in the hearts of men.
The second; when the weak cower from the strong, it is your most solemn duty to raise your blade to their defense. When the threat of tyranny is gone, let your blade be cleaned and sheathed that you may help them rebuild anew.
And the third; is that you shall not allow what you know to be evil, in your heart of hearts, to continue existing. From now until your dying breath, may every action you take leave the world just a bit brighter than how you entered.
And finally, should you ever chose to retire your blade; to build a home and family; then pass onto your kin tales of your exploits, and learn the forge that you might forge new blades with your sons and daughters– that I might watch over them as they continue to fight for justice.
Know these things, and act upon them. Go now, my people– find that with my power in the heart of your and your kin, that there shall be no more to fear, and let the world know that you are coming."

My word is sent from my domain, an my vision falls on a wild homeless man being harassed by a pack of stray dogs.
"Company is dear in this world, but human decency is nigh impossible to come by." He heard as a whisper, and suddenly he falls to his knees and enters a vivid and all encompassing vision. A strange figure, half beast, half man meditates in the centre of a beautiful copse. It is akin to the dogs at first, but his aspect takes on the forms of many animals familiar to the man.
"You are but a beast."
The man feels his skin tearing from within, coarse fur raking through his flesh and covering his skin slowly.
In agonising pain, he screams "Who are you, why are you doing this to me!"
He sees the dogs again, with a strange manic bloodlust in their eyes. They begin to utter the name, "Bral Val Kaas… Bral Val Kaas".
The dogs repeat these words but in a guttural howl, their heads raised to the heavens. The homeless vagrant realises that he has lost his human form. He is a dog like them, howling in human words this name.
"I am the beast lord, the father of
wild things and the brother of society's shunned. Follow me, find those like you in this world and show me to them. Spread my wild will and I will spread through you all the bestial powers of this wild world"
The man awakens from his vision coated in a thick sheen of sweat, his clothes saturated with a liquid stench. The dogs stare at him, and in their eyes he sees an understanding he would have never thought possible from an animal.

>>2051Right. Guys, a thing if you will. At the start of this thread it says you are in control of your deity and your prophet. After the initial vision your prophet receives, you are in charge of what he/she says and 'attempts'. You pose the actions you would like them to take, I tell you how well that works out. You have a limited amount of power, which is directed into the miracles you are assigned at the end of each turn, and attempts to convince others of powers you wish to have (because if they believe you can do it, you are able to do it), so if you try to do too much, some of it will fail. I'm in charge of NPCs like potential followers and how they react to your prophets' overtures, and what they say to you, but you have a mortal and a deity to interact with the world. I need more input from some of you. Starting from the end of this turn, if you don't give your followers instructions to carry out in their real world, they won't be doing much, and you may start to lose them if they don't believe you care enough to help them. You should be exhorting them to gather followers, send out people to start proselytising in street corners, building you shrines, that sort of shit. Most of you have the right idea, but I shouldn't be adding dialogue for your prophets, that's your job.

>>2061No, see, my problem is one or two who don't give me much to work with. Your interactions breed reactions that progress the story. Later on you may wish to interact through your prophet more, but so far what you have is very reasonable. This is a preemptive warning for people who don't at least try to make some open ended suggestions in their post, and rather than, say, directing their people to actually go somewhere and do something, give vague 'instructions' and hope for the best. There is a map provided, and your location provided for a reason. I can't keep posting the map because spam filter won't let me. But just so everyone knows, one square on the detailed map equals approximately 1 week of travel on foot.

>>2051Right, I'm back. I'll post my turn shortly in another post, to separate it from OOC shit. Had a Steam account in the past, promised myself not to use Steam again (don't ask) but if it becomes absolutely neccessary for the gameplay that I get in touch with /qu/ group, I will consider it.
You mentioned word limit before. I'm not sure if Hotwheels has set a global word limit for every board or if he allowed admins to customise it for the boards they create. Since he encourages freedom in moderating 8chan's boards, the latter may turn out to be true. In that case, we may consider creating /apo/ or something like that when shit gets too large, if running such board wouldn't trouble you. It could serve as an alternative to the steam group, maybe even better, cause it would let us organise shit like they did on Apotheosis RP forum. One thread for the game, one for OCC, one for deity descriptions, several others for some spin-offs and such (Have you seen the "Noumenal Bar" thread on their forum? Totally loved it, we have to pull that shit out as well) After that we could just leave a pointer to /apo/ here, and occassionaly bump it if new /qu/estfags arrive here.
This post is also a friendly reminder that the HQ on Terra has now authorised us to kill lurkers with fire.

"My children…"
Mortis appears in vision sent to everyone who bear her pedant. She appears in a dark, nondescript room, weakly illuminated by several candles. Light reveals only her figure, and several fractions of the walls, covered in vines and roses in several places. She appears to be sitting on either chair or a throne, it's too dark to make anything out. In contrast with previous, serene visions, this one has rather a mystical nature and a touch of mystery to it.
"The Plague has spread to other settlements in this region… It has reached Pella as well… Their people are holding it off better than the villagers, but they do so at a terrible price… You shall see soon enough."
She pauses. A raven emerges from the shadows, and settles down on her arm.
"Future shall bring great struggles… for all of us. You will witness many painful things. Start preparing now, children, start meditating and making your minds quiet. Those who wish to be acolytes of mine are to radiate with an aura of calmness and concentration in the midst of flames, suffering and death…"
The raven raises its wings.
"Take care now, children. I shall watch over you, both in mortal plane, beyond it, and through the journey inbetween…"
The vision fades for everyone except Iason. She stays silent for a while. The raven takes off and flies back into the shadows.
"Tell my acolytes that we shall be heading towards Pella. Homever we will stop in all villages that lie nearby our path and attend the sick. You need to bring no medicine, my child, for I have given you my blessing… You can heal mortals with mere touch. Help them, and together with my acolytes hold a ceremony for the dead… Be respectful, but quick, for we cannot linger too long. Tell them they've been saved by the kindly Goddess Mortis, who will protect them from any plagues to come, and will watch over their souls, if they turn to her worship… If asked for payment, say that shelter and any spare food rations for my acolytes will do… Finally, ask the willing to join you as acolytes… a path that requires discipline and devotion, but which will earn them favour of the Goddess, and their actions will someday bring back values long gone in hearts of the mortals…"
The candles start flickering, and slowly grow weaker.
"The final village you will come across is just half an hour of walk from Pella. You've been there once, child, you should remember. You and other acolytes will stop there, rest and gather your strength for a while. Then, when you feel strong enough to carry on, call me, and I shall tell you what to do afterwards."
The candles have been dying as Mortis was speaking, one after the other. With her last word, the candle closest to her died as well, leaving everything in darkness. The vision faded shortly after.

>>2065Lurkers, my friend, are a species of the Zerg, vile race of aliens, we Terrans have battled ever since we left Terra for the stars. Much blood has been spilled, but humanity managed to resist bravely. Homever the Zerg Overmind noticed that Terran culture takes deep roots in imageboards. And then he spawned the most vile creatures of all, Lurkers. They would infiltrate human colonies and browse forums and imageboards, pretending to be normal terran posters.
Homever, those horrors, unlike us terrans, never actually posted. Sometimes they only posted to claim they would post more, but in the end they never did. They were lurkers. They never posted. They only lurked. Lurking was the only internet activity they ever did. Because of their lurking, they caused a cataclysm in the poster/viewer ratio. And without imageboards, humanity would surely perish.
Then, homever, in the archives ofinternet wisdom, there was an ancient text discovered about killing things with fire. Thus creation of Firebats, brave Terrans who could kill lurkers with fire, occured.
HQ warned us of a high lurker density in here, so flamethrowers are currently being distributed. I suggest you take one as well.

>>2077Lycus walked along the river, his dogs trailing behind him confidently and alert. A hunger was beginning to take him, a deep hunger for animal flesh.
In the time before, he would make do with odds and ends as a vagrant does. An aging carcass of a kill half rotten with age, or a root nested deep within the earth. But this hunger was not simply sated with these things.
Lycus was close now to his original destination, a village called Tricca. As he approached, smoke was clear on the horizon.
That last night before his final tramp to Tricca, aside the fire he and his hounds lay. It was that night that Bral Val Kaas came again unto his mind.
"These loyal creatures, they provide all. As a man feeds on a deer, to sustain himself in hunger, so to do I… but I feed on men, the prayers of men. The veneration of me sustains and sates my godly appetites. As a man builds muscle by consuming flesh, I build muscle through the consumption of faith."
"I must find you prey, Baal Val Kaas" says Lycus, his words echoing into a wild infinity stretching through his consciousness.
"Yes my wild one, but you must first sustain your hunger. The passions of the wilds are not easily sated with paltry offerings of old things, and things grown from the earth. Before you enter this village ahead of you, you must first engage in a hunt. You will not do this alone, for the loyal hounds I have gifted you will hunt for their master when it is commanded. Enter the woodland and you will find a deer there, a deer whose skin is white as snow, and whose eyes gleam yellow as the sun at midday. Feast on the meat of this beast, share the offal amongst your dogs for their service to you. What you cannot eat, you must carry into this village. Share the flesh of this offering amongst those like you once were, the hungry… the unclean, the wild and the scorned. But know this my wild one, my prophet. You are scorned no more…"
Lycus awakens fully rested and invigorated by his nights rest, and the insights given to him by the beast lord. His dogs rise with him, and although this feels strange for him, he wills the hunt. Today they will find this deer of Bral Val Kaas.
Before the hunt, the pack go down to quench their morning thirst. He sees himself in the blue crystalline water, and sees in his eyes the burning yellow of the sun.

>>2077Casting the gaze of her new blade into the sunset, the young woman– a completely different beast than the one that had entered the alley-way, booms in a voice louder than any being her stature should be able to. "To this end, my comrades. By the dictate of Nediar, we are compelled to the Western Sky," She starts, the tint of the falling sun on her blade. "By day we shall chase the path of the sun, cutting the enemy down and chasing them into the long night," She adds, sheathing her ornamental blade back into an equally ornamental sheath she had begun affixing to her belt. "The Babarians are said to have pillaged a town very near, in the North-West– the very direction they have come from. There, they have conquered the city of Styra," She claims, placing her boot upon the rock. She gazes out into the horizon; hearing thunder but seeing no rain. Turning her steely eyed gaze back to her gathered marauders, forming themselves unnaturally well into organized squads, she imparts the, with a final note; striking her heel into the dirt. "In the name of righteousness, let no darkness remain under the shroud of a setting sun; let fear and death rule no more hearts and let no more homes burn. This much has happened to our people. The lives we once knew; the people we once were– we are ghosts of them now. Specters of righteous vengeance. Hear then, the howl of banshees in your heart as we seek to bring about a new world; one where monsters cower in the dark from good people, and not the other way around," She shouts, eyebrows furrowed as her frayed out hair in silhouetted by the setting sun, an array of oranges and yellows and purples splayed out behind her. "Gather the horses, the carriages, and all the food we can hold tonight. At morning, we ride."

By the by guys, none of your gods have omniscience. Gaia is the only Primordial who sees the whole board. You cannot seek out and destroy followers of a God you or your followers have not encountered. This prevents, ironically enough, god-moding (sounds counter-intuitive I know) because to slay a god so early on breaks the game.
967f73 No.2108
I feel I should give some more lore, from the original forum game. *note these words are not mine, but I am trying to make this game as close to the original as possible in terms of rules of play etc)
The area inside the map is called the Breach Zone, this is the region which Gods and Spirits are able to influence the world. You are not able to leave the Breach Zone whatsoever, not even your believers. (Note this is for gameplay reasons and please don't bother questioning the logic of it). However, the Breach Zone can be expanded, although you have to work out how to do so…
There are two sets of divine beings:
The Primordials who are the creators of the Universe and everything in it, they are utterly alien and do not involve themselves in the affairs of the lesser beings. It is pretty much apparent that the Primordials left the physical Universe soon after they created it. They are the Alpha and the Omega.
The Noumenals are the beings that you shall be playing as, they thrive off of worship, but can alter the laws of the Universe however these effects can only be sustained by worship, otherwise the effects are undone due to the overiding power of the Primordials creation. In essence if a Noumenal God was powerful enough it could make the sea part, however eventually that sea would return if worship fell. Noumenal Gods cannot truly create life either, but they can certainly take it. They are essentially cosmic 'editors' who change and sculpt the Universe of the Primordials to feed their need for worship. The Noumenals can in fact appear to be quite human in their personalities (although some appear absolutely alien and terrifying still it all depends on how you wish to play your God). But one must remember that the order of the Primordials will always be the Status Quo in the end. They are the Alpha and the Omega.
*Note you CANNOT be a God of time travel, that is absolutely game breaking.
*Nor a God of atheism or any other variation of unbelief.
Key Tips:
1. Remember this game is set in the ancient world, modern views often do not translate well.
2. You do not control the actions of your followers, they react to whatever miracles you perform and what visions you produce.
3. Make your deity easy to identify with, if they are too abstract then people often become confused (this can however be pulled off but it is very difficult.)

The Audience is supposed to ceremonially shed a tear and tip their hats at this very moment.____
Mortis appears once again, in a field of roses, now surrounded by several trees and other flowers as well. The sun is setting, and the air is tinted with a flavour of pink. Homever, compared to her previous visions, something seems to be out of place… There seems to be a certain… tension in the air, and everything is dead quiet. Not even a gentle breeze can be heard.
She speaks slowly, but not with her usual calm and soft voice, but with rather cold and melancholic tone.
"I hope you will be able to calm yourselves as I instructed you, children, for you will not like what you will see in Pella."
She pauses.
"Their people managed to limit the spread of The Plague by forcing almost everyone with any kind of disease to live in a locked up ghetto… Plague, Leprosy or simple sickness caused merely by lack of hygiene… they didn't care. They mixed them up and threw into place they didn't have to look at. Instead of fighting The Plague, they've swept it under the carpet, many of them feeling content they removed pain and death from their vision, soon forgetting that the ghetto ever existed…"
Tension seems to rise, shadows casted by the trees seem to increase their length.
"I've already told Iason, the man I have chosen as the bearer of my Word, that Life and Healing are only one side of my nature… You may have guessed the other side turns towards… Death."
Air starts changing its colour from pink towards crimson.
"You will head into the ghetto, my children. I will shield you from every disease that tries to get to you… Tell the guards you come as healers under my care… They will laugh at you, they will call you fools, but they will not stop you… Withstand their insults with silence and discipline… Those of you who carry a symbol of mine can now heal with simple touch and invocation of my name… Relieve the forgotten of the diseases that burden them. Despite all the misery you will see around you, maintain an aura of calmness and concentration. Help them to obtain clean clothes and to gather their strength, for the disease drained their hearts greatly… Tell them I have given them a second life."
The tone of her voice deepens.
"After that…"
…
"When a mortal takes up the path of a soldier, he receives the tools of a soldier. In his left arm he bears a shield, to protect himself and those around him from harm. In his right arm, he bears a sword, to strike those who wish to bring harm to him and those around him…"
She slowly began to uncover her robe in the place where she was hiding her right arm in every vision so far… But she revealed no flesh but only bones.
A skeleton arm, with something more like claws than fingers. Thin layer of black flames surrounded it. She touches the ground with it, and the soil starts to turn black. Roses wither and trees drop all their leaves, and turn black as if they were burnt. As this happens Mortis speaks bitterly, controlled anger echoes in her words.
"After that, tell the people of Pella that by treating diseased like animals and throwing their bodies carelessly into pits and setting them on fire without bothering for any last rites at all, they brought wrath of Mortis and wrath of The Dead on them. I will punish them with a plague of my own. It will not touch animals nor plants, only people that I deem guilty. Let them know that those few who still cared about fate of the diseased, do not have to fear my plague. The rest of them are to pray for my forgiveness, forgiveness of the living they abandoned, and forgiveness of the dead… Those who do will be spared, but some will not believe you and will not bother. My punishment shall reach them at Dusk… All of them will ask for forgiveness then, and those who had their hearts trully changed, I will forgive them. But handful of them won't change their hearts and won't care for forgiveness of myself, the living or the dead… Their souls bear much worse taint than their bodies, and they will die before sunset. Still… Bury them respectfully, even though they had no respect for death in their lives… I shall judge their souls myself."
The vision fades.

>>2130Lycus drew deep from the forest air. The sweet scent of tree sap, the damp soil and the pungent odour of blood filling him with a bestial vigour.
The beast of his vision lay dying on the ground, it's throat deftly slit with the small but sharp eating knife Lycus kept with him. The hounds sat still around him, watching silently.
Lycus looked into the eyes of the beast, the beauty within astounded him. He lay his hand on the deers face, calming it in its final moments.
"Be calm beast, be calm. Your life has been taken to continue my own. I thank you."
The deers eyes look through Lycus as the last of its life blood begins to fade.
"Go now to Bral Val Kaas, be at peace"
As the deer passes, Lycus looks to his hounds. He respects them more than many humans that he has known. The way they handled themselves in the hunt, Bral Val Kaas truly was within them he sensed as he knew he was within himself now.
Lycus shouted his beast lords name to the heavens. The dogs joined in a cacophony of houls.
—-
Lycus began to butcher the beast as best he could. Opening the stomach, he tore out the sweet meats, the liver, kidneys and gave them to his loyal hounds which devoured them voraciously. He took the heart and was overcome with a craving for its flesh. He dropped his knife to the floor, and tore into the heart with his bare teeth leaving nothing after but gristle.
The skin of the beast would serve him in cold he thought, so he did his best to preserve its form as he cut the beast into easier carried pieces. He estimated Tricca to be no more than a half days hike here, so he would tolerate the unease of transporting this weight of flesh he had cut.
The head of the beast must also e kept Lycus thought. He used some strong sinew from the beast to make a tie, and he lashed it to his pack which was already weighed down with deer flesh. This half day would seem a week he mused. But within him now seemed a divine fervour and strength. The skin around him, his pack and the head. He began the hard walk to town.
He arrived in some time, muscles aching. His hounds followed keenly, though their obvious unease told Lycus that they had not seen a human settlement for some time. He needed to find someone to work this deer skin, and he knew that with such a dirty job they would be found within the poor working areas.
As he walked through the town, he noticed the state of many townsfolk eyeing the white skin at his back and the great antlered head. He wondered if this deer had been known to this village in the past. Eventually he reached a tanner. He would ask this man about working the skin into a cloak. He would share with this man some venison, and the story of his beast lord Bral Vaal Kaas.
Lycus would also make his way around the district, sharing the meat amongst the hungry and poor. All the while explaining to them his story. As they witnessed the loyalty of his hounds, or the carnivorous yellow in his eyes… Perhaps they would be swayed to
follow his beast lord.
"As we feed on this venison, child… So too does Bral Val Kaas feed from my faith in him."

Anaxagoras' reponse to Orestes: "Lost interest? Quite on the contrary, I would like nothing more than to continue the actual project, but it has grown ambitious enough that it will be hard to build the final version with my resources alone. We will, however, have a councilor visiting in a few days and I am making sure I have everything well prepared to convince him to support the project with money and workers and profess his thanks to Gideon for the greatness he is bestowing our city."
Meanwhile, the students are granted another vision while praying. In it they are instructed that as gifts are given, so are sacrifices requested, but that the sacrifices Gideon desires are of symbolic value more than material. They are to craft an extra copy of the small model versions of inventions and add it to the shrine itself. Ideas that cannot be made into a proper model are to be written down and added instead.
For the council member, Anaxagoras stresses that not only is this a great stride in technology itself, but it also brings great advantages to seafaring. These ships will sail tirelessly without being at the mercy of the wind or slaves growing exhausted, bringing goods for trade reliably where we want them to go. As a trade city, this is sure to bring Eretria wealth and glory. Furthermore, he mentions, those who offer thanks to the god that has gifted the city with this glory are sure to find greater luck in pursuits involving them than those who do not.

Tell them any harm come to your men first the headsmen will get twice the pain flicked on him, and other worse punishments would follow.
Some of these people will join your band of men to form the beginning of your army, which you will use to conquer the smaller outlaying towns and villages to form the basis of your kingdom.
At this point you have one marauders hand a knife to the crowd where they will all, men and women, let a small amount of blood from their arms to prove their loyalty.
After this light the fire.
End of vision.
Once the fire is lit I will appear as a human skull that has fangs and horns sprouting from it to give a short spiel.

That took fucktillion longer than I initially calculated.
Iason gathers everyone and begins to speak slowly in a calm voice.
"The Lady is enraged. Homever despite what just happened, she asks us to keep anger out of our hearts. She will deliver her Wrath herself on those who do us wrong."
He continues: "The Gardener of Souls commands us all to walk together in Unity, rather than divide into groups through the chaos-ridden city only to be ambushed and beaten. We will go from one district to another, starting with the poor and most needing, and ending with the wealthiest and fairly-well maintained. We shall help diseased, wounded and those in need, and spread the Word that the Goddess will send her Plague at Dusk onto those who had their hearts tainted and do not pray for her forgiveness. Those who ask The Lady for her forgiveness after being struck by her curse, will be forgiven if they hearts truly change. Those whose hearts will remain the same, and whose prayers are just lies used in hope to save their own skin, they will perish before sunset."
Suddenly his voice rises, now speaking in a somewhat inspring tone.
"The Lady asked me to remind you her own words. Those who wish to be acolytes of her are to radiate with an aura of calmness and concentration in the midst of flames, suffering and death. This is what is happening right now in Pella. She wishes for you to serve as an example for all those who will devote themselves to her in the future. Banish the fear and disgust that may approach your hearts upon witnessing the horros taking place in here. Bear any agony that gathers inside you with silence. Make it known that Acolytes of The Gardener of Souls are the shining light of Order, in the midst of Chaos. Show no signs of fear or doubt, for the Lady watches over us."
His voice returns to its calm state.
"With the Chaos that rose inside Pella, some of its inhabitants have degenerated to banditry, and as we have seen, Guards started to use their authority for evil, and they may try to harm us while we try to get into some of the wealthier districts. The Lady has instructed us to approach them with caution. If there will be signs that we are not welcome, we are to turn back and do not attempt to enter further. Word will reach these districts eventually after Dusk."
"The Lady is watching over us" - He continues. "If any Guards decide to raise their swords and pursue us, If any bandits try to ambush us, show no fear, for all those who try to harm us, she will strike them with a disease that will instantly rob their bodies of strength… They won't be able to move a handspan."
"When the Sunset rises, and this is all over, we shall hold ceremonies for the dead and slowly start restoring Pella to order. On the graves of those who died in the service of The Lady we will lay a single rose and plant another one in front of them as well. From now on this will be one of the ways of honouring those who fell in her name."
He falls silent for a moment then speaks again, this time the tone of his voice darkens somehow.
"Finally, the Goddess wishes to make it known that she is benevolent and forgiving to those who truly seek forgiveness, but those who try to harm followers of her will not find escape from her wrath. The ones who took lives of the two of us, she will infest them with a disease so painful that would make The Plague look like a relief. No matter how much they beg, they will not be forgiven. And once they start praying for relief in Death, she will grant it to them, and we will bury them still… But know their souls are damned."
He pauses and raises his left arm.
"For when needed, she brings healing, hope and relief. And at the other times, when needed…"
He lowers his left arm. Then he slowly exposes his right arm, slowly atrophying. He pronounces slowly:
"…She brings Death."
His arm looks as if he was gripping something in the air, he stands like that for a moment in silence. Then he lowers it and announces with a calm voice he began his speech with.
"We go now. Be quiet, calm and collected. The Lady is watching."

>>2265About how long would it take to sail from Miletus to Halicarnassus and back?
fee7ea No.2281
>>2274I'm thinking one square = approx 3 weeks march for a force of 200 or so. If you sent the minimum to subdue Halicarnassus, a forced march would get them there in about 10 days. At the shortest distance between the two points of land making the bay (which is a beautiful naturally defended stronghold for any future navy) It'll take about 4 days smooth sailing with a brisk wind at your backs. However, due to the protected nature of the bay, a brisk breeze is rare, meanin it'd be closer to a week, maybe 6-8 days. Belief is a powerful thing if you can convince someone of your veracity. Also, anyone you sent would still be suppressing the region by the time the punitive force from Myus and Priene arrived at Miletus. Sorry I didn't include this. I will make up a travel chart soon detailing march times between areas. If you can, try to direct questions like this to the Apotheosis discussion board on the Steam Community page?

>>2265On that night that Dikephorus reports her failure, she is greeted in her dreams by the visage of her God. This was normal, she felt, but as she went to grip the pommel of her blade, she found that it was not there tonight. The never ending darkness that tended to accompany the dreamscape was replaced with the likeliness of a sunrise over a stained glass field, which sparkled and glinted a great many colors. Her God appeared, like a translucent man with bones of lightning and skin made of neon.
"You are tired," He asserts, feeling his prophet has grown weary; this recent discovery failing to bolster her spirits. Before she can either admit or protest, he waves his hand, making her feel heavy at the knees. He sits down in a cross-legged position, motioning in invitation for her to sit as well. She does so, and they sit across from each other, Dikephorus still on edge– still exhausted, even as she slept, unwilling to let down her vigilance.
"My power has given you strength, speed, fury…" The God starts, placing his blue, sparking hands onto his knees, a motion the young woman mirrors. "This power comes not only from me. It is the fury in your spirit that is the conduit; the line through which my divine energy is transferred into your form. However, you are burning yourself out… your fury is like a flame; all-consuming. To this end, you must learn something new; something to balance what you and your kin have been learning," Dikephorus heard the being hum into her mind. She felt heavy still, lethargic, and moved only to mimic Nediar in his movement, nodding slightly in acknowledgement.
"What I am going to show to you is a Ritual of Endurance. It can be practiced in waking life, or in one's dreams, and the result is the same…" The being's electric spine creaks as it straightens and bows backwards, and the sound of Him humming while inhaling reverberates throughout the landscape. "It will reinvigorate your spirit; make it hardy. Pray to me as you perform this ritual. At day, it will reinvigorate you– your troops may march a hundred miles and fight a half dozen battles between sunrise and sundown, and still not tire. During night, your will rest like a king who has slept for a day, whilst sleeping a mere hour upon jagged rocks. Mind, body, and soul…" The graveling voice slowly drones on, the prophet's dream form feeling like a statue; the slow and shallow breathing seeming to filled her with a calm heat. "All will be sharpened like a blade to the slow grind. Continue your training by day, but move only half your usual trecks these next few days as you practice this ritual… I shall appear before the rest of the faithful myself, and show them this in their own dreams. For now… rest, my prophet…"
Taking in a deep breath, Dikephorus begins to hum, the feeling of heaviness overbearing as her consciousness seems to lose track of time, blacking out in the calming escape.

>>2265Gideon appears to his followers and whoever else is present the next time the councilor is. While still an amalgamation of gears, springs and other clockwork parts, there are now gold and silver cogs mixed in with the brass ones, as well as some of a strange blackish-grey metal (this would be iron), and he takes on a form that is vaguely humanoid. "I am pleased with the progress of my following and the manner in which this city is developing. I have but one message for all of you at this time. Do not simply drone on doing without thinking. Think always of what you do and how you could do it better, or faster, or more productively."
Then he turns to the Councilman and hover over to him. "Choose your captain soon, and send him to Anaxagoras, for he has much to learn." Then he vanishes in a puff of steam.
When the envoy from Aulis arrives, he is told that while a trade of the kind isn't necessarily out of the question, Anaxagoras would much prefer if one of the learned men of Aulis came himself to see the invention and the process of construction that he may learn to build ones himself.
Additionally, Gideon inspires the students of Anaxagoras to create and examine pendulums in detail, mapping out their properties mathematically in a manner that would allow others to predict the behavior of a pendulum regardless of length of wire, weight and so on.

>>2303Lycus sits with the children aside a large fire made within the forests. He mused his situation as they shared venison charred on the flame. A chill wind seems to whisper through the whole forest on this night. He felt the beast lords spirit around them as he watched the dances of the fire. His hounds also felt the touch of Bral Val Kass he knew, as on that night one of the pregnant bitches who travelled in the pack had mothered a litter of 10 that night. One for each child, it was a miracle in motion Lycus knew.
If this was but a taste of the beast lords power, who knew just what would become of these pups whose father was a god?
"Their birth is a miracle children, truly you are all blessed with the favour of our wild lord. In this litter is a hound for each of you. They will be as loyal to you as this pack to me. It will be your wild guide. Your living and breathing specimen of the beast lords bond to us. Beast and man."
They rested after the feasting, Lycus amusing the children with the tale of the hunt for the white hind and Bral Val Kaas' visions.
Lycus, the children and the hounds slept in the forest around the flame last night as midnight fell on them.
"Lycus"
Lycus' eyes were suddenly alert. He felt a heat grow around his chest. He peeled back his sleeve and a course fur was growing all along his arms, his hands. Lycus looked to the children, the were calm…
The wind howled around him, and as he stared at his hands he could see menacing claws, he toppled to his knees. Pain wracked his form as great muscles formed around his form, changing him from within into a true wild thing.
A form appeared in front of him, the spirit of all the forest seemed to come together in a green haze to rest in the shadow of an old grizzled tree.
Lycus seen burning yellow eyes in the shadows, with a predatory stare focused on him.
"Lycus, wild one and prophet. Hear me."
The pain around him subsided, he was something else. Course fur covered him, his arms and legs monstrous and tight with muscle, and his face drew into a form like a great hound.
Bral Val Kaas spoke from the shadows, and it was both thunder and a whisper to Lycus.
"My power grows, wild one. With these children come your responsibility to protect them. Raise them as the alpha to the pack. Witness the strength of my influence, prophet. You will be in the power of this form."
Lycus felt Brals influence, and the wild spirits of all that traversed through the forests, human or animal. Souls like scents carried in Bral's power.
"The skull of the white hind shall be the head of a wild shrine you will build for me prophet. Go deep into the forest and lay it there. Where only wild things live. You must also speak to the Tanner, and his son. Bring them to the shrine and tell them to ask for my blessings there. They must be convinced to tend to my shrine as you continue your travels through the wilds with your loyal hounds, and children of great potential."
Lycus' form began to withdraw, fur back to skin, muscle atrophying back to humanity.
"You must travel to Oechallia in a weeks time once you prepare. Bring the children. Find those like you, find the wild ones. Show them to me"
He awoke beading in sweat. The children slept soundly. It was sunrise and Lycus knew his purpose. He would wake the children and send them on the hunt, finding a place in the wilds to place the shrine of the beast lord. He left the hounds with them, and willed them to defend them as they would defend Lycus.
As the children went deeper into the forests with the hounds, Lycus went to the tanner to collect his skin and bring him and his son to Bral's wild place of reverence.
He would take them to the shrine, convince them truly of the wild
Lords power and then he would charge them with the continuing of Bral's influence and the upkeep of the wild shrine as he continued his journey. He believed truly that if the hunters son gave his blessings, he would never fail to bring in great game of the forests.

But when they near the edges/walls a hail of flaming arrows come down and igniting something in the field that results in a large number of fires bursting up from below and spreading disorganztion amongst the men.
And have on of the burning men warn him to fight at the city and let them come to him but to have them find traps along the way.
Once chaos is on to have his men sally forth and engage in battle.
End of Vision
A few days after the allied army sets out being to send small vision to individual footmen or minor commanders of their death in a hundred different ways if they assault the city.
After about a week give or take a few days of this offer them to betray their commanders to not die in some horrible way.
Have the men who a weak enough to betray their allys make a ceremonial mark along their chest
Once a few men have turn have them influence those who follow their orders or are their friends.
However have the first few men turned stay secret of their new alliance and work to get close to their commanders to try assassinate them on the eve of battle and burn what ever tents they have.
Once the battle is joined have all the men who have turned slip to the back of the army and begin attacking any loyal man near them.
When the fire arrows ignite the burnables on the field send visions of deamons and other hellish beings in the midst of the army.
And ya know grant my/Scipios army my blessing before the battle by having them all attend a ceremonial human burning before the battle. The sacrifice should be some scout or outrider of the enemy army and not some guy picked off the town streets.

Name: Ge
Ge has observed humans for a long time. Watching and reveling in their triumphs, and despairing at their failures. Such interesting creatures.
But now the currents have shifted. The time for action is now. Ge enters the dreams of the priest of a small congregation–one with a stout heart and strong will. Ge shows him the future he sees for humanity–grand structures rising in days, cities stretching as far as the eye can see. The sick are healed, the crippled walk, humanity has mastered their domain. A man stands on top of a mountain, lighting a great fire. From the fire, Ge speaks.
"Humans are the greatest race that walks upon the world. I am Ge, and I will ensure your rise. Humanity is to become the lords of the earth, as I am to become the lord of the heavens. Praise my name and all humanity shall rise. You shall thrive. Assert your reign over all that lives. You are humanity-the lords of the Earth. I am Ge–The lord of humanity."

>>2265Mortis appears in the same, dark room, again weakly illuminated by several candles, and again sitting on either chair or a throne.
"So, children of mine wish to create a Kingdom under my banner in the mortal realm. That was… to be expected. Homever, we shall not do that."
She gets up and begins to walk slowly. Whenever she approaches the darkness, candles suddenly burst to life in front of her, faintly illuminating her path, but still leaving everything else in darkness.
"Various deities have chosen to establish their kingdoms in the mortal realm, hoping to spread their beliefs through them. But Kingdoms of Mortals are just like their lives, child, they come and go fast, and new ones take their place… If a God is to limit his teachings to a single plot of land, they will be soon forgotten."
Just like before, a Raven emerges from the darkness and settles down on her right arm.
"Politics of Mortal Realm are no interest of mine, child, and neither is creating a nation. I aim to bring a Balance to your world, teach mortals to respect Life and Death… Variety of mortal cultures and all the conflicts of yours would only hinder the spread of my Word…"
Mortis begins to climb stairs. Faint, greenish light emerges from above.
"Still, it is not possible for us to avoid conflicts. Ignorance of mortals is one thing… Ignorance of malevolent deities is the other. We may be hunted solely for our beliefs, if they consider us dangerous. And we will have to fight back eventually…
If hard times fall upon us, and it becomes necessary to unite the lands of my children under a banner of mine, I will do so. Perhaps sooner than I think… But not right now."
Suddenly the candles die, leaving everything in darkness. But the vision does not fade. Voice of the Goddess echoes from the dark.
"For my domain lies beyond the mortal world."
She reappears in some bizzare world. Ground is dark red, and air seems to consist of some thin green fog. Occasional trees take strange forms, roots randomly changing direction several times while growing. Numerous shapes, shining in light blue, illuminate in the distance.
"Gateway to the Realm of the Dead. Righteous souls end up in a bit more pleasing place."
She pauses. The shining shapes are constantly moving in the distance.
"Spirits talk of atrocities their mortal selves experienced through life and after death. Their wrath is growing with each passing day, and this is the reason I've revealed myself to you."
She pauses again.
"Kingdom or not, we need to prepare. My acolytes are to organise themselves into an Order… Two of them specifically. Those who wish to be priests of mine will found Order of The Rose, they will be the ones who heal and bring relief, and their symbol will be white and black rose, crossed like swords… But those who prefer to raise their weapons in my name will found Order of the Raven… They are to paint their armours, or robes if they can't afford armour, in black just like feathers of a raven, and they are to wear white masks that cover everything but eyes. They are not to take them off in presence of anyone but other Ravens. Should they fall, they are to be buried with the mask on. They are not to speak much, and save their words for when really needed. Their symbol will be a raven gripping a skull in its claws, its eyes glowing vicious red. They will be the ones who bring my Wrath, Vengeance and Death."
She continues "Both paths require dedication, but dedication is something I require from all who wish to follow me. Priests will bring relief with calmness and concetration, in the midst of flames and suffering. Ravens will deliver death with cold blood and precision in the chaos of the Battlefield…"
She carries on "I require both of them to sharpen their minds. When Priests meditate, I will be slowly bringing them to greater Unity with Life and Nature… And when Ravens turn their minds to meditation, I shall slowly bring them closer to the Realm of mine, making them embodiment of Death…"
"Finally, until we are forced to establish a Kingdom, make it known that those who are under protection of mine are to support both Orders if able. That is not a high price for the protection of mine. And do not bear a feeling of loss for refusing to be a king, child, for those destined to be saints did not take thrones."
Light blue spheres are still numerous and on the move. Mortis turns her head in their direction. Some distorted gibberish can be heard from the distance. She raises her skeletal hand.
"Their wrath…"
The vision cuts off sudenly.

After a week's worth of work on the pendulum, Anaxagoras takes a moment off of his work to see to his studens' project. Faced with their ponderings of how the pendulum may be used, he responds that the more one understands an object, the better one will be at thinking of uses for it. Furthermore, he suggests that they might be able to learn more if they make more pendulums that are identical to the first in all respects but a single one and compare those pendulums, similar to how they learned something from comparing the fall of two spheres that were identical save for their weight.
Lastly, Gideon inspires Praxitelos to take write down what he knows of matters of money and trade and begin the process of observing the movement of money around him to expand on that knowledge.

"All of humanity is equal. Treat all humanity as your family. Help your neighbor as you would your brothers and sisters. Aid your elders as you would your mother and father. Assist your young as if they were your own children. Share among your family, and support those who need it. To the strong: Protect the weak. To the weak: aid your fellow man to the best of your ability. To the wise: Further the growth of humanity. Act as the divine rulers that you are. Live as exemplars–if your beacon shines the brightest, your bond will be the strongest, and others will flock to join you. Do not fight among your family, do not steal from your family, and do not kill your family.
"I am the only Lord of humanity, and I will not suffer my servants subjugating each other. To place yourself as the ruler or owner of another human is to presume yourself higher than me. Among humanity, there is but one king, and one master: Ge."
"There are those among men who would not believe in my word. Hold no hatred for them, for they shall see that my word is the truth: Under me, all humanity shall prosper. For those among men who would resist, feel sympathy, for they are still your brothers and sisters. They are merely ignorant and mislead. Treat them as family, but should they strike first, respond in kind. Those who wish to repent will be forgiven of all sins–their transgressions are wiped clean."
"Hold a hatred in your heart for the lesser races of this world. They are not to be the inheritors of this world. Hate those that would resist the divine rule of humanity. Strike them down without mercy. But for those among the lesser races who acknowledge the strength of mankind, have pity. Bring them under your wing, show them the transcendent power of humanity. Allow them to serve–but make no mistake: These are not your equals. They are servants, blessed with charity by their benevolent rulers. For the humans that would treat a lesser race as an equal, show them the way. If they refuse to realize their right to rule, treat him as the lesser race he consorts with. Do not confuse this with kindness. It is not forbidden to show a kindness towards the lesser races–theirs is a pitiable existence, but they must always know their place: Below humanity."
"Above all else, remember: Above the beasts, the lesser races. Above the lesser races, humanity. Above humanity, Ge."
"Go forth and spread my word, Nikandros. Let this village be the first to take up their rule. Erect a shrine in my name, and let its flame illuminate the darkness."

Posed these questions by the city folk, the prophet Dikephorus waits until the nightfall to ask her God for guidance on the issue. The dictate to pursue those responsible for the destruction is still supreme; to stop them from victimizing others.
Considering all of this, Nediar solemnly hums to himself in the dream, and orders–
"Find the most respectable, intact village along the river, as villages are wont to exist in such places, that will take in your people. Intermingle them amongst their populace and speak of your crusade. Let those who have not taken up the blade, and many of those who have, remain in the village; offering protection and hunted meats in exchange for shelter. At this time, you should take yourself and 49 of your greatest soldiers and hunters for yourself, and procure a way to pursue the raiders via the river…"
Dikephorus rubs her chin in thought. "A village along the river is sure to contain some fishing boats, but enough for five squads of men?"
Nediar considers this. "Throughout the week, impress the villagers with your skills. Teach them of me, and throughout the week, practice your mediations with them. This will make you all the stronger for when the time comes to run down the enemy. In the coming week, let your people help build boats with the peoples of the river, so that you might have enough to move even a hundred men if needed. Leave half there, and take half with yourself," He proclaims.
Dikephorus nods at this insight, and then asks. "And if we can find no such village?" She wonders.
"Then wander along the river until you find either that; or the ones you are hunting."
"And with this, the dream ends, and Dikephorus goes to proclaim these new insights to her followers.

Mortis appears yet again in the faintly illuminated room.
"Make preparations, my child, for if my Word is to reach the souls of the mortals, we cannot remain in Pella. Thirty priests of mine and half of the Ravens are to gather their belongings and necessary supplies. You will join them in their travel south, to the town of Oloosson. You may take as much time as you need to prepare for the journey, but I expect you to move out tommorow."
She continues "As you did before, you will stop at any villages and small settlements you encounter. My priests are to heal wounds and diseases, bodily and mental, as well as give relief to those grieving over loss of their friends and relatives. As before, if offered a reward, ask for shelter and supplies before continuing on your journey. Tell them that those who turn themselves to my worship I shall shield from plagues of both body and mind, and guide their spirits after they leave the mortal realm. As a sign of my protection, each settlement is to build a small shrine depicting a robed figure with its gaze fixend on the ground, a hood casting a shadow on its face, and its hands joined, right hand being skeletal, both of them holding a candle. Then tell them I aim to bring a Balance onto this world, a Balance that will outlive kingdoms, and that I ask of any willing souls to become Acolytes of mine. Present them with the paths of a Priest and a Raven. We need as many as we can get, if we are to spread my Word onto other towns…"
She pauses for a moment.
"There are more souls in Pella in need of relief than there are hands which can bring it, and there will be more to come… The Priests who stay in Pella are to announce that they will need any help they can get, and those capable of dedication shall be welcomed in The Order."
She pauses again.
"There is… one more thing, child. We will fight battles eventually, and you're not yet capable of leading men into combat. I shall help you organise both Orders properly in time… But for now even the simplest chain of command will do. Eventually on your travels, you will encounter a flock of wild ravens. When that happens, you will tell my warriors that I ask those who consider themselves capable of leadership, planning and improving his skills to assume the role of The Commander of The Ravens. Those men are to approach the birds, keeping enough distance not to startle them, close their eyes and clear their minds out of any thoughts. One of the birds will take off and land on the right arm of one of them. That man will be truly capable of becoming a leader, and he will be chosen to lead the Ravens."
She pauses yet again.
"Right arm of my warriors will bring death, just like yours, but it won't bring harm to a raven, for these birds are a link between realms of the living and the dead. Respect them, for they are sacred animals of mine… In time I will help my warriors to tame them and form bonds with them… Starting with the one chosen by the Raven."
After another moment of silence, she speaks for the last time, candles yet again dying as she speaks until she finishes her last words.
"Leading men into combat is one thing… but you, my child, bear a strong-willed heart and hold many virtues, both of those becoming a rarity among the mortals… Your soul is strong enough to receive gifts far more powerful than the ability to swing a sword or inspiring someone to swing one… Keep both your Heart and Soul pure, and in time, I will unlock powers of Life and Death within you, those of a true Saint."
As the last of the candles die, the vision fades.

It is time for your people to end their travels, for i have a grand destiny to guide them to. And you shall be my voice." I then show him plans for various farming implements and tools and such, such as the iron ploughshare and coulter, the iron bloomery, how to identify iron ore and likely places one may encounter it, various other bits and bobs like heat treatment and the kind of clay needed for casting. "Go to your elders, and tell them of me. Tell them of the God Faellegar, and show them these plans. And sharpen your axe, for there will be battles and wars of the like you have never heard of."

>>2695This'll be your last freebie mate. I need you to take control of your prophet after this and make him do stuff, I need dialogue when he has to talk to NPCs, I need action, and I need attempted miracles. Just remember with such a puny follower base you'll have to rely on visions and illusions right now, and not too many of those. Most of the other players are starting to get it, if you need some guidance on how to go about this, check Nediars' posts as he is closest to getting this right. 78fce2 No.2702
>>2701Reposting this to remind you all. I will start railroading your prophets' personalities if you don't take proper care of them. I am still writing dialogue when I should not have to, all I should be working with is NPCs as far as talking goes.At the start of this thread it says you are in control of your deity and your prophet. Most of you have the right idea, but I shouldn't be adding dialogue for your prophets, that's your job.Note: Proselytising, for those people who hate dictionaries, is preaching. You should be sending out feelers for more converts in close by populations if you can, or your miracle base will stagnate. You can store up 'energy' from your worship to expend at one occasion, if you do not use it all up on minor miracles and visions. I've coddled you guys a bit as far as controlling your secondary characters (your prophets) by giving them things to do and say, but if you want more timely updates, you'll be taking care of that. I will note you in your update if you need to have a conversation with a particular NPC and we'll hash that out in a chat when we can both get on.
574fc2 No.2703
>>2701I'm a little confused here. I thought the only influence I could exert on the world was giving my prophet visions, and speaking through fires. If I can actually create illusions and stuff, and I'm supposed to be taking more active control over the narrative, I'll gladly rewrite it.
I just assumed that I was supposed to be more hands-off until I gained more of a power base. Most of the quests on halfchan are way more hands off, so I automatically assumed this one was as well.
584746 No.2705
>>2703Basically you have two points of contact with the mortal plane. You (the deity) and your prophet. You may appear and speak to your prophet whenever you wish, manifesting to others takes the energy of worship. Once I have given your prophet a name and a slight direction in the way of personality, you take it from there and develop him/her further, using him to interact with the NPCs that will make up your follower base. You interact with your prophet, your prophet interacts with your followers, at least until you are strong enough to appear before them yourself. This means you need to control what your prophet says to others, and how he/she tries to convert followers. I gave you a huge boost by doing what I did last post, none of the others have a written sheet of tenets. Now that your prophet has a tangible set of guiding principles, he will find it easier to persuade others to his view. You can add more to your update if you want, but like I said, you get this turn as a last free pass, like everyone else. After this turn I will be penalising people. If any of you guys need help my skype handle is imperialsnowleopard, I'll be on anytime after the 31st.

>>2705I actually did read enough of original Apo posts to notice that players with more powerful deities were controlling the actions of their prophets directly, but I was convinced that such option appear in rather advanced-ish phase of the game, when the prophet trusts/submits him/herself enough to his/her Deity so that player doesn't have to worry about how will he/she react to orders and just order the prophet directly. Guess the mention that Orubashi explicitly requested his prophet upon his first vision to give up his free will to him further expanded that impression, because it implied that in contrast other prophets with free will are left to have their own feelings and interpretations of their Deity's will.
Alas, The Infinite Layers of Confusing Shit are being especially confusing lately. My bad.

After this meeting, Nikandros returns home, donning his (admittedly not-so-fine) finest clothing, and collecting what small savings he has, to purchase food and drink to share among those who would step forward and listen to his preaching. Nikandros goes to the town center, setting the food before him, and setting up a small torch to burn beside him. Nikandros begins to speak:
"Please, take and share of this meal, and listen to my words. I come before you now to speak of Ge, the Lord of All."
As Nikandros speaks, the fire burns brightly, and the light frames him at an impossible angle, accentuating his frame, adding an air of reality.
"Under Lord Ge, all of humanity is a single family, united in a single purpose: To spread across the land, and secure our dominion over this world, and the Lesser Races which inhabit it. Humanity is the most noble of the races which walk upon the land, and our dominion is to be made self-evident. Through our labors and cooperation, we will achieve wonders beyond our wildest imaginings. Lord Ge will guide us all into our glorious destiny. What he asks is simple."
Nikandros then explains the tenets, and invites them to further sermons at the shrine–"Each night at sundown, the signal fire shall be lit, and we shall offer our prayers. Tuesdays will be a day of rest, where we will meet at our shrine, and share in the fruits of our collective labors, and learn that which the wisest among us have to teach. Go now in peace, and carry the word of Lord Ge in your hearts, and dedicate your labors to his glorious name."

“Speak said Scipio not glancing up from the maps.
“Well the men, myself included have almost nothing to do before the battle and they need something to keep their minds from the coming fight.” Captain Acacius says.
“I understand, tell the menfolk to gather for a sermon at the town square two hours before the battle.” Scipio says after which he waves the man away.
“What will you say?” Alceaus asks after a brief pause.
“I know not what to say so I will confer with god, however in my away I want you to finish selecting the positioning for the soldiers.” Scipio says.
After a brief amount of time praying in his chambers a vision from Ajax comes to Scipio.
“My prophet what do you desire of me.” Ajax says, his form appearing as a horned skull.
“O greatest god in all the world I come before to beseech your wisdom.”
“Ask and thou shalt receive, what troubles you general.”
“I must provide the men with a speech to rouse their moral but the words must be of your will alone”
“When you stand before the people I will use you as a mouth piece for the peoples befit, however in return you must build me a shrine after the battle of this design.” Ajax says followed by an image of his small altar.
The Altar will be a large basin the funnels to a narrow neck, at the end of which sits a human skull, someone who died a rather violent death or lived a incredibly violent life, which fresh human blood will be poured through as a sign of worship.
Also on the three sides of town with the enemy approaching have the men dig a trench and spike the edge nearest town of it to prevent calvary coming to attack. The marauders should hid in homes to storm out when the newer men retreat to the center of town to trap and slaughter the enemies. Once they breach the walls begin falling back but have some women spread oil on already present hay behind the advancing enemies so if they fall back they will find themselves standing in the mist of a large patch of easily ignitable materials.
At the speech.
Scipio will extoll how Ajaxs chosen ones are guaranteed victory for the enemies they fight are nothing more then sheep in the skins of men, who will break in battle much as twigs before a avalanche.
Then carry on to how all people must suffer in this life to be rewarded in the next, how those who don't suffer for Ajax in this one get to suffer eternally for him in the next. As the group departs from Pella, Iason leaves his thoughts to wander. Surviving a near-death experience, Manifestation of Mortis, all the things they did at Pella… There was hardly any time to think about anything. They expect him to act both as a prophet and a leader…
He gave a sigh, thinking about how all the responsibilities will probably turn out into a burden too heavy to handle. And now the Goddess referred to him as a future Saint? He certainly couldn't imagine himself in that role.
"Olooson. Out of all the towns in the world we had to travel to Oloosson…"
The memories of what once was his home town begin to flood his head. Memories he thought he left behind after all these years…
An image of a young, red-haired girl lying lifeless on a bed, her azure dead eyes staring and staring at him…
"No. Not. This. Not. Again…" he whispered to himself in a broken voice.
He stopped for a moment and tried to cut off this sudden flow of thoughts, and try to maintain calmness of mind, just like the Lady requested from all her followers. Eventually, his psyche became silent, at least for now.
But once unearthed, the old scars would start burning again eventually.
Not entirely content with his responsibilities, but knowing they are something he must do, Iason started leading the caravan. He assigned all the management duties to people he deemed suitable as well as asking several he considered trustworthy to become his advisors. But even with that, the feeling of burden wasn't gone, as he was still expected to act as a leader.
With every village they've come across, he had to be the one to step out, introduce them, state their purpouse and briefly mention the will of Mortis, which the priests would later expand upon while preaching. He did help the priests with their healing efforts, and held ceremonies as expected. He did speak for the Lady and for others, when he had to. When approached by the villagefolk, he did talk back to them.
But whenever there was a moment when his presence or words were not necessary, he retreated to anywhere he could be alone, and kept to himself. During these moments his head was either empty or, the opposite, overflowing with thoughts, trying to comprehend anything at all, from all the events that started with the day that was supposed to be his last, up until now. Eventually the confusion started extending into past and his whole life as well.
Finally, after several days of marching, the group encountered a flock of ravens. All of them were an illusion created by Mortis, except for one, which was real, and under her control. Iason stopped the caravan and called out to the Ravens to approach him.
"The Lady has requested that among you, one will be chosen as a Commander, to act both as a tactician and leader in combat. Those who feel capable of leadership, concentration, self-improvement and overcoming their fears are to step out. Then they are to approach the flock from a distance and stop. Then, they are to lock their eyes on a single point in front of them, clear their minds and keep their right arm raised. One of the birds will fly to you, and test your focus. Eventually, it will land on the arm of the one who maintained it best, and no harm will come to it after such contact, for The Lady said that ravens are a link between the realms of the living and the dead. The one on whose arm the bird settles, will rise as a Champion of The Gardener of Souls."
Having said what he had to say, Iason leaves, to observe the event from the distance. When some of the Ravens seem to be approaching too close, Mortis makes the illusionary birds behave as if they were startled and about to fly off in a second.
As her warriors begin the test, the illusionary birds as well as the real one launch themselves at the direction of Mortis's warriors.
They bird begin to circle around each and every of them, hovering mere centimeters from their faces and croaking loudly. The voices of the birds all added up, create a kind of a disturbing symphony. Suddenly they start to speed up and seemingly attack The Ravens - from time to time they would swoop down at them, and pretend to slash their face with their claws or stab them in the eye with their beaks, only to stop just as they were about to reach the warriors, continue hovering, and attack again, all this accompanied by their cawing, heard all over the place.
This spectacle continues for a while, until the birds suddenly stop attacking and fall silent. Suddenly, all the illusionary birds start flying away, and vanish when no longer seen by anybody. The real raven lands on the right arm of the one that maintained the most focus and trust in the Goddess. Once it settles down, it seems to have become peaceful and quiet, only moving its head from time to time as if observing its surroundings.

>>2947Nediar senses the discontent and responds promptly. "With my blessing," he asserts, with a confidence unassailable, "Ten men could take on a hundred score their own number, so long as their hearts seek out justice."
Dikephorus nods. "Still…"
"Then take another week to prepare. Steel your hearts and the hearts of your men. Construct the small navy necessary to pursue your quarry; then take as many men with you as you see fit. In the mean time, keep them working– and drill them, well. I shall use the dreams of the faithful as a doorway to plant lessons of discipline in their mind, that they may practice in waking hours."
Rubbing her chin, the young woman ponders this, gazing upon her own blade; a tremblign eagerness coursing through her. "I… wish to chase them down. The waiting, the lack of finality is… painful," She whsipers, grinding tooth against tooth as she considers the blade in its ornamental sheath.
"The weapon you desire to use is not a means of merely spilling blood– it is not an avenger's tool;" Nediar proclaims in his prophet's mind. "It is a tool of justice, meant to water the roots of the tree of liberty with the blood of tyrants. It was forged in the hands of brutes– but with my blessing, this blade is no mere slab of bronze, but a shimmering wind of destruction. Wield it with a heart fueled with tempered fury and righteous indignation; and through your faith in it, me, and yourself, that mere brute's weapon my strike down a thousand centuries of men– its might could strike down a mountain or gorge a valley; slay any manner of monster that sought to impede your righteous journey.
My words apply to more than just your blade. They apply to you; in body, mind and spirit– and to all others who follow the path of Justice. Go, in the morn, and perform the rituals as usual– but deliver to our new initiates a sermon, one that may steel their resolve and, indoing so, bring my fire to their blades."
The sound of boom thunder echoes in the distance, and yet there is no rain. The late night falls on the prophet, who makes preparations to speak her prophet's word in the morning– performing her nightly ritual before she, too, falls asleep.

>>2968In the days leading up to the sermon, Nikandros spent his time preparing to combat one of the greatest threats to the village: The centaurs. But, he knew that this could not be done with the meager resources available to the village. They would need the assistance of their neighbors to stand any chance survival–let alone subjugation.
So, guided by Ge, he began to devise a ritual that would aid in their struggle–a ward against the Lesser races, that protects a territory from their encroachment, and punishes those lessers who would tread upon it.
As the sun sets on the day of the sermon, Nikandros stands silently before the cairn. Just as the shrine is fully engulfed in shadow, Nikandros throws a handful of dust into the fire, causing the small flame to dramatically flare upwards, burning brighter and larger than before, and wreathing the crowd in warm light.
"My brothers and sisters, my heart is warmed by seeing you here. Tonight, I will speak of a matter of utmost concern to our village, and our faith. I speak, of course, of the centaurs."
"These wretches walk upon OUR land, and dare to attack us when we try to trade with our neighbors. No more shall we suffer their barbarism–No more shall we fear them, no more shall they prey upon us at our weakest, no more shall they steal our labors, no more shall they take our loved ones from us! We will strike at them, and we shall put them in their rightful place: under our heel–under the heel of Lord Ge!"
"But, we cannot do this alone. Though we are made great by the light of Lord Ge, we are but few, and poorly equipped for the subjugation of the vile centaurs. We require the help of our neighbors; their numbers and their strength. The centaurs shall see the true nobility and power of a united humanity, and kneel before us."
"I will head a party to travel to our neighbors and make this request for aid, and, by the light of Lord Ge, I have been shown a ritual that will afford us protection." Nikandros pauses, taking a breath. He speaks solemnly when he resumes.
"However, this ritual is not simple, nor is it easy. This expedition will not be protected. The goals of this journey are twofold: First, to establish the ritual that future travelers may be protected, and second, to entreat our neighbors for aid. Though Lord Ge will, as always, watch over us, there
will be danger."
"Who will assist me in this great undertaking?"
Nikandros nods as the volunteers show themselves, asking them to stay after the sermon.
"As for the rest of you, you have a role to play as well. We require supplies for this expedition, and the ritual items must be prepared. This effort requires every hand."
As the others are dismissed, and the volunteers remain, the fire begins to speak.
"My subjects, you do well to volunteer. You will face much danger in the coming weeks, but know that it is for the future of mankind. Know that this ritual is not without cost. You will expose yourselves to peril, and you may lose your lives. Blood is needed. The blood of the Lessers must be spilled to consecrate the protective idols. This holy mission is fraught with peril, but you who fall in battle shall be remembered and honored, for it is the duty of the strong to defend the weak. Go forth, and prepare."
As the week progresses, Nikandros guides the villagers in the carving of the protective idols to be placed along the path, and in the improvement of the shrine–the beginnings of a proper altar.

Gideon, in the meanwhile, feels satisfied with the efforts of Praxitelos, Pelagius and Pamphilos thus far, and deems that they need nothing further than to be given a light spur to keep up the good work.
The students, in return, recieve a vision upon the completion of the steam driven pendulum. In it, Gideon appears before them in the vaguely humanoid shape as he did before when adressing Praxitelos and speaks to them. "You have done well with the pendulum and while there are secrets of it that you have yet to unravel, there is one important lesson to learn from what you have already done in your pursuit of knowledge from it. As you seek to uncover the secrets of an aspect of the world, you will sometimes think of a device to help in that pursuit that has uses far beyond the original intent. The steam device used to drive pendulums contain parts that are of exactly such a nature. For now, think on its parts and how they may otherwise be put to use, and know that I am pleased with your progress."
Lastly, he directs an idle philosopher (if any are still available) through inspiration to start researching lodestones.

Hoped I could manage somehow, but I keep getting distracted to the point that I can't focus on anything. IRL issues and Uni shit are becoming too much, I'm stepping down and I'm pretty sure I won't be back. Sorry.

“I will take my thirty of my marauders and all but three of my huntsmen and go into the forest to track down the enemy forces, with out their supplies they will make much worse time.” Scipio says, waving a man to go spread the news.
“Where will you direct your efforts brother?” Alceaus asks, looking down at the local map.
“I will sweep the villages, farm steads and along the trail they took to come here, and capture more than I kill, but not by much.” Scipio responds.
“You will leave at sunup tommorrow, and while and take half the herdsmen, other three huntsmen, and the remaining marauders and go seek the horses that ran away, you should be able to find most of them. Once they are found go and hunt men to the east and southeast of Miletus, I will hunt along the north and northeast.” Scipio says tracing his finger along the map.
“We will return in one weeks time, and when we need guidance of where to search for prey, we will pray to the fires and Ajax will show you the way.” Scipio says, glancing into the local brazier.
“Now go and get me captain Acacius, I must give him his orders.” Scipio instructs.
“I will fetch him when I leave brother.” Alceaus says before he leaves.
“Go now brother, good luck with the hunting.” Scipio says to Alceaus retreating back.
When Acacius arrives at Scipios house, which once belong to the village leader, he kneels and awaits instruction.
“Acacius, you will oversee the construction of a arena for people to fight and die in while I am away.” Scipio says.
“Where would you like it to be build Lord Scipio?” Acacius asks. “And of what design should it be? I am afraid we have little experience with arenas here.”
“Build it outside the the town, beyond the spiked ditch. It should be a 3 meter deep hole with the top covered with rope attached to barrier polls which rise out of a flat collection of boards.” Scipio responds.
“ Oh and one last thing, captain we will feast tonight in honor of our victory, ensure the feast is ready when Alceaus and I return from the hunt.” Scipio adds.
“It will be done.” Acacius says before stands up and leaves.

>>3042>>3045*Sigh* Sorry about this shit, I'm aware how immature "I'm leaving! No, wait I'm staying! Nah, leaving! Or maybe not…" looks like, and at this very moment I feel like a 16-years old girl who posts 9000+ suicide threat journals in order to get attention from random internet people. Trust me, it doesn't feel good at all.
I'm going through Hell right now, mostly with Uni, TL;DR focus issues, shitload of materials and related. Was lurking on /qu/ and Fullchan way too much than I should and had serious trouble sorting it out. Got a bit better lately, so I started wondering if I can organise myself properly somehow to still post here and not getting carried away at the same time. Eventually I came up with some idea, provided that it works out, I'd still be able to post without getting overly distracted.
I'm aware I asked for permadeath myself, and that one should think thorough what is he saying if he wants to be taken seriously, but given the circumstances, I'd ask one last time to rejoin. My unnecessary drama is shitting up enough of this thread already and I don't wish to embarass myself further, so if I decide to leave again, I won't bother you about it, I'll simply stop posting and leave.

>>3251From your posts I can tell you're somewhat pissed at me. Even though all this drama didn't really slow Apo down (hope you didn't get such impression) as two people are yet to post their actions, I can understand that the clusterfuck I've accidentaly caused did get on your nerves, and possibly not your nerves only. I assure you it did get on mine far more, and on top of that you can't even imagine how much embarassment the fact that I'm turning a thread on an anonymous imageboard into a personal DeviantArt-esque crypillow journal gave me. I'd gladly post all this shit on the Steam group instead if it wasn't for the fact that no one would read it there.
I won't be trying to bring you to tears with a heartmelting sadfrog story of a failed life, I'll just mention that while it appeared to be hopping "in-and-out" decision, both of the times had extensive contemplation before it and were much more of "It has to be done for my own good" nature rather than "Meh, this doesn't work for me, whatever, I'm out" Finding balance and inbetweens in my decisions and pretty much everything were never my strong side, but I guess I should finally start working on it. Focus/Attention drain issues were much more serious shit than it sounds, believe me. If they weren't serious I wouldn't leave Apo because of them just like that. Obviously /qu/ isn't the main cause of that, it goes much deeper than that, but it did play its part. The sole reason I decided to ask to rejoin is because I'm slowly starting to solve these issues somehow, which eventually led me to organising a scheme of "How to post without derailing your life" which may have actually worked.
I just had a talk with Gaia, and we did some rerolling. Since it went successful, she has let me to ask you guys whether you want me to still play with you or not. If so, she will let me rejoin. If not, I'm gone, and I won't even feel mad about that, so just be honest about it. Yes we're tripfagging, but this is still a chan, no one (myself included) won't probably hold a grudge against you. And dammit, I don't fucking want to be considered/treated as a special snowflake, even if my posts seem to give an opposite impression. So if you think I'm a faggot/dramafag/attention whore/[custom input]/ then feel welcomed to state it because that's how I feel about myself right now anyway…
inb4 Third time, no, there will be none. As I said if my willpower turns out to be THAT pathetic I won't shit up the thread further. I'll simply PM Gaia just before the end of the turn, asking her to terminate me, and that's about it. I already feel pathetic about myself with this drama and having to explain it, and even if I *do* return, I probably won't be able to get of this feeling that from now I'll be considered "that dramafaggot" by all of you. So yeah, I do feel consequences.
On a side note, I'm also aware that this shit is being archived as well. I presume that in some unspecified amount of time from now on, someone will be having laffs about that. Oh well.
6c0b1a No.3260
>>3259>I'm mad at youNigga you couldn't be further from the fuggen truth.
If anything, I heavily sympathize and am not so much mad at you as I'm mad at the universe for saddling someone besides me with that kind of attention management issues… even though I know that it's completely illogical that I would be the only one.
So fuck that shit. I'm mad at the circumstances for shitting on you. And I'm mad at myself because it reminds me of how much of a faggot I was about that shit before I reigned it in, which is a lot more than you've been as far as I can see.
For my part, you can rejoin if you wish. As long as you think that won't assfuck your own personal shit further.

Well, since Gideon agreed and no one else seemed to care, Gaia said she wouldn't mind me rejoining.

As the Night closed in, some followers of Mortis were still meditating, but more and more of them slowly drifted into sleep. Iason's dream recalled torments of his past again. Dark shapes of Oloosson's structure and the azure-eyed girl staring at him resurfaced from time to time, but other than that, nothing has happened.
Kalypso's dream, homever, was different.
She was hovering, late at night, under crimson moon. Hovering… or flying? She felt that somehow she had changed, though she couldn't tell how. Underneath her was what appeared to be a battlefield, corpses and equipment scattered all over the place. And a robed figure was was taking a stroll in the middle of this massacre.
But unlike Mortis, the figure wore no hood and black wings were growing out of its back.
It called her name.
Voice was similar to that of Mortis… yet it sounded much more powerful, lively… and darker at the same time.
She suddenly found herself swooping down to ground and landed before the figure.
"From those who take the path of Death, I expect to be treated as something more than a Mother figure."
The Goddess now stood in an elegant dark robe, adorned with markings of golden vines. Her face now concealed by a white mask, still revealed a pair of bloody red eyes. The wind was gently stroking her long, dark hair. Her black wings give her an impression of a fallen angel, though it appears they are like those of a raven. Along with the change in her voice, now speaking with more steady, powerful voice, "this" Mortis had a posture of a Battle Maiden rather than a Mother Goddess.
"Fire and Blood. Sacrifices will be necessary. A Hard Road for all of us, as always is carving something pernament. Life is a part of me, and humans may want to see this part only. Existence of The Ravens prove otherwise. I will lead you, both in peace and war, I will lead you myself."
She slowly starts walking onward.
"All of you will have much to learn. For now I will mention two things only. Being a woman you may find yourself being questioned whether able to fight. Yet you can turn your figure into your strength. Gather all female ravens and tell them to stop wearing burdening armor, replacing them with one that does not restrict movements, when they have chance to get such. Then you will train differently… relying on reflexes instead of brute strength. Practise dance in your free time, you may make it a form of worship if you wish. Then combine dance with your training. Learn to avoid blows rather than brace them, and to parry strikes rather than cover yourself with a shield… Soon you will see that battling is just like dance, moving gracefully from one foe to another and delivering graceful strikes is just a… different form of performance. Now… there is another thing."
Mortis slowly raises her skeletal hand. As she does it, some metallic sound is heard from underneath her robe, covering her whole arms, leaving just hands uncovered. As she does it, open wounds start appearing on heads of fallen soldiers, taking the shape of an X, stretching all across their faces. From these openings, reddish lights escape their bodies and swarm to skeletal hand of the Goddess, which absorbs them somehow.
"Burial of the innocent and our own is a duty of priests. Burial of those who wronged us, those who tried to bring harm on us, will be a duty of The Ravens from now on. They have brought damnation onto their souls already, and instead of invoking my name to let them pass peacefully, call for it to unite with me swiftly, while I gain strength from their souls. This is the only way of redemption for them, better than eternity in pain. Consider it a way of sacrificing to me."
As red lights surround hand of the Goddess, the vision starts to blur, then it starts getting darker and darker… Until it finally fades to black.

I'll leave this guide on how to use IRC…not comfortable leaving this in the steam group.
irc access isn't usually done with the browser. It's usually an app, or an mIRC client.
(so irc.rizon.net is an address you input into the irc client and not your web browser)
Anyway, you can go to rizon.net and use their built in chat client (which disconnects or craps out a lot), or you can use mibbit's chat app at mibbit.com .
1. In the drop-down menu next to Connect, select rizon.
2. Enter your nick , and then in the channels window, enter in #8/qu/ests .
3. Connect. Enjoy.

Only one really called for a specific nudge, namely the good councilman. To him, Gideon gave a nudge directing him towards considering if there was a relation between the presence of learned men in a city and what he discovered about the flow of money from his investigations.
Next, he nudges some of the more devout followers who are not actual students of philosophers or philosophers in their own right, inspiring them to seek out general knowledge about the philosophies of thought and experiments that Gideon has been bestowing upon Anaxagoras and his students in particular and his followers in general. In this, he picks mainly followers with a measure of wanderlust, relatively little attachement to the city itself or both.
