e4f014 No.5829
You are a Nohorn, and you’re out to steal the prized eggs of the horned ones, often called “Himehorns” for their horns and typical hairstyle. About a month ago you and your partner managed to steal one each with sleight of hand and two cakes as a distraction, but your subsequent attempts to steal more have failed. Worse, your partner in crime has abandoned you and ate the very egg he stole on a particularly hungry night.
The bright side however is that you can get more eggs. The himehorn cave you’ve been trying to steal eggs from has particularly incompetent musclehorns guarding the entrance. You can probably sneak in a few more times, grabbing an egg or two each time, without getting in too much trouble. You also know that the horned ones have a universal weakness to cake, and it is a weakness that you’ve exploited in the past.
Except… What did you want all of the Himehorn eggs for again?
[ ] No reason, you just wanted to steal some eggs to bully the Himehorns. Bullying the Himehorns is so much fun!
[ ] Those eggs are fucking delicious when cooked! Or so you’re told. You’ve yet to try one, and your ex-partner-in-crime wouldn’t share after cooking his egg.
[ ] Gosh darn it, the smallhorns are weaponized adorableness! You MUST get more eggs for more smallhorns! Smallhorns that won’t automatically fear a nohorn such as yourself like the ones raised by a herd of Himehorns.

>>5830>>5831>>5834Ah, that’s right! You wanted them for the sake of bullying of course! The Hornmothers are so adorable when they cry that you can’t help but bully them whenever possible. Bullying the horned ones is a sadist’s wet dream, and there’s no better way to bully a Himehorn than to steal their eggs and gloat about it when you escape!!
Now that you remember why you want the eggs, it’s time to gather your supplies and head out to the cave of the horned ones.
Only problem, you don’t have that much left that you could take with you, your previous attempts used up most of your resources. You have several odds’n’ends on you that you can pull out in an emergency, but other than that, you have very little. Some rope, a blanket, a matchbook and some cake mix. You might be able to pull somehting useful out in a pinch, but who knows?
…Well, there’s also the egg you stole on your last trip. Should you take that with you before you head out? It could be useful for… something.

>>5836>>5837>>5839You take the egg and stuff it in your backback. It couldn’t hurt, if anything you could use it as a distraction or something. With everything set you move out and head to the cave where the horned ones live.
You arrive about an hour later, and you are currently hiding behind a bush outside of the cave. Peeking thorugh the bush, you look at the entrance. What luck! It looks like the coast is clear, no Musclehorn guards in sight! There are a few eggs outside as well as a smallhorn or two, but you know how the herd operates. These are the rejects, the bad eggs of the lot. The Hornmothers won’t care if they go, they’d only be glad that the misshapen thing is gone.
No, the ones outside don’t intrest you at all. You must go inside to find the eggs.
You stealthily move forwards, avoiding the eggs and failed traps that you laid on past trips to the cave. A pit trap with a fake cake on it, the remains of a box trap, a simple noose… all failed. This time will surely be better.
Once inside the cave, you see there are three paths you can take…
Which way was it to the eggs again?

Right! It was straight down the center!
You head down the center passage and after a few moments of following the twisting passage, you find yourself in front of a large set of doors.
Hmmm. You don’t remember these the last, and only, time you snatched an egg.
You move closer to the doors and open them just a crack.
From the sliver that you can see, it looks like a grand hall filled, and inside you can see Haremhorns moving about setting food down on tables inside.
Well, this isn’t the right way, that’s for sure. But perhaps you can see if there’s anything down here?

You stick to the wall and make your way as quietly as you can through the hall. You make it about three quarters of the way before you hear a plate shatter about thirty feet behind you.
Turning around towards the source of the sound, you see one of the haremhorns has dropped a plate and is staring at you in horror.
The rest of the haremhorns are staring at the one the dropped the plate, not knowing that you’re hear yet, but that won’t last long.
You have a few seconds to act before the rest of the haremhorns notice that you are there and pandemonium ensues.

>>5863>>5864>>5866>>5868Well, you’ve already been caught, you might as well go all out.
You immediately jump up onto the table nearby and kick of the plates, causing the rest of the haremhorns to turn towards you and freeze when see your lack of horns.
“I, your GLORIOUS new Horn-free LEADER has finally ARRIVED!” you call out to them. “I have bested your PITIFUL HORNS OF MUSCLE and claim this cave as my own by RIGHT OF CONQUEST!” You pull out the egg you have and hold it above your head in triumph. “Those who refuse to obey my IRON WILL shall be CRUSHED like those that have FAILED to defend you!” You bring the egg down in front of your face and slowly squeeze the egg in your hand.
It’s a bluff of course, you won’t really crush the egg, but it does the job. A few of the haremhorns faint, while the rest run out of the hall in a panic.
Well, that takes care of the haremhorns, but now word is going to spread that a Nohorn is inside the caves. Plus, you still don’t know where the eggs are.

>>5871>>5872>>5874You continue going down thought the doors, and after a few minutes walking down a tunnel, you find yourself in a very large, and very dark cavern. You can hear water dripping in the cavern, as well what sounds like wind or a breeze echoing from farther in.
You find a large root laying on the ground in front of you, one of the haremhorns must have dropped it as they were scavenging for food in the cavern. You pull out some cloth out of your backpack and wrap it tightly around the thick end of the root before lighting it with a match to make a makeshift torch.
With the extra light you can now see that the cavern is absolutely massive, and there are dozens of smaller tunnels going every which way.
This… This is not the right way, is it? Without a map or a guide of some sort, you’ll easily get lost in those caves. Only the horned ones can explore these caves without fear of getting lost.

With all of the Haremhorns between you and the entrance of the cave, heading back and exploring the other two passages is probably a Bad Idea. You were almost caught once, and you don’t feel like pushing your luck going back.
To make matter worse, you have a cavern in front of you with dozens of passages going every which way. If you’re going to find the eggs of the horned ones and steal them for the sake of bullying, you’ll have to navigate this maze somehow.
Luckily, you have some chalk on hand, so you should be able to mark your way.
You make a few marks pointing back to the entrance, so you won’t get lost. You made sure to put the marks high enough that a passing Motherhorn or Haremhorn would be unable to spot them, but low enough that you can easily spot them if you happen to pass by them with your torch out. Only a musclehorn could notice the marks, but they wouldn’t know what to make of them or tell any of the other Himehors about them.
All to do now… is to decide which of the dozen of tunnels might lead you to the nest.
[ ] Keep your hand on the right wall and just keep walking. You’ll bound to get there eventually, and you can’t get lost so long as you keep your hand on the wall.
