‘’Your name is Siegfried Shieffer, previous head of the noble Shieffer house in the lands of Gwynedd, instigator and main actor of the Purges of Monsters in the north and soon to be hero of Zipangu thank to everything you’ve done so far for this realm, filled with women you’ve joined with in souls and body and comrades-to-be for whom risking your life is second nature; long has been your path, Siegfried. You’ve trodden it endlessly for time itself yielded to –my- desire to make thing right; the years have piled and only now did you finally manage to carve yourself a way out, although you aren’t the only actors of this play, even if your grasp has the potential of reverting this tragedy.’’
The world felt warm with a tepid wind to keep me fresh; around my shoulders were the arms of a woman, atop my head rested chin and beside me was hints of her gradient hair as it fell like a waterfall of silk, colors changing like inks flowing in a pond. Brown, red and gold mingling and separating incessantly… the world around me was peerless in white and tranquility, only now realizing that I was sitting on a cozy balcony of a small home, gazing into an endless sea upon which stars shone with the evening sun; time was itself stuck, freezing the view for eternity.
That was why the water kept still.
‘’Hear me, my son. I am Mother Earth and within your veins flows my blood; in this realm of dreams you needn’t worry for time.’’ She spoke quietly, letting each words flow in a warmth of motherly love that would have gripped my heart were I able to feel emotion; my body was filled with unusual lethargy but still, something compelled to look forward instead of up or backward toward the woman, my mother.
Inside the sea, colors began to alter the otherwise silvery surface; then a few moments after the manifestation bubbles escaped the nearly flat surface of the water, hovering as the levitating sphere they became as images began to fill inside them, but they disappeared too quickly for any potential recognition.
‘’You need to understand her path’’ Mother Earth spoke again, with the same smooth voice as one of the bubbles finally began a proper visualisation, revealing a cute face of a white haired, furry headed lady with a tail of fluff that would compel anyone to touch.
‘’Out of everyone caught in the loops, she’s the one that created the biggest change, for she has succeeded in something… vital. Something that I didn’t even know existed as a threat.’’
The bubble shifted, expanded into a vase to reveal a proper image, showing the triumph of five girls in some subterranean hell over some tall monstrosity; the woman with a tail wasn’t human, for her body had morphed into a white wolf with a pelt of flame on its back… I couldn’t see more, for the image evaporated.
‘’Maegan Fayruz wolf Youkai, Ayumi and Akira Takara twins crow Youkai, Hildegarde the homunculus and Armisael, disciple of love’’ She named them as their faces came to view; each of them beautiful, the angel stirred an emotion of longing… but it didn’t last. ‘’Their part of the play has ended but the true finale is yours to choose, my son however.’’
Her melodious voice paused again as I stared at the colored ocean and the floating spheres, unable to tear my eyes away.
‘’Do you wish to gaze upon the path of the wolf, or simply see how her journey ended?’’
…
>’’Show me the path trodden by the Youkai, so that I may understand the girl, her trials, her triumphs, her loves. Perhaps my final decision will be moved by emotions because of this, but knowing the adventure of the wild card isn’t something to ignore’’
>’’Give me how her adventure ended, mother. So that I may choose for myself without the burden of emotions; it is perhaps inevitable to put tragedy on someone’s shoulders for my own triumph… or perhaps I will simply be unable to ignore someone’s plight, even if they are near-stranger’’
