6299a8 No.7156
Our three heroes arrive in a strange land, knowing little of the peril that faces this kingdom.
Comic is game 'canon', don't expect it to update all that quickly. Everything else is meta. So… what should be the first thing our three heroes do? Introduce themselves to each other? Investigate the door? Wander off?
a283c1 No.7157
Have them introduce themselves before opening the door.
c45c8c No.7158
6299a8 No.7160
Probably too much talking. Oh well.
Shall we head towards the door and see what's inside? Shall we explore to the west and see what's in that direction? Shall we head to the east and pass the door?
c45c8c No.7161
>>7160
That door's just standing there, obviously wanting us to go inside of it. Well we're not just going to enter the first level and forget about potential hidden loot now, are we?
We go east!
6299a8 No.7190
>Have them introduce themselves before opening the door.
>We go east!
Well, you can open the door without actually going in, and then go east, clearly. You leave behind a confused old man wondering who opened his door.
And now a fearsome beast! A… um… land octopus.
Y'know what… I'm just going to take any suggestions now.
532773 No.7191
>>7190
Quickly, let's attempt to gently caress and calm the land octopus. I know we're in a video game, but killing random animals isn't necessarily the right thing to do…right?
a283c1 No.7192
Yes, gently caress the octopus. What could possibly go wrong?
6299a8 No.7202
>Yes, gently caress the octopus. What could possibly go wrong?
In Soviet Hyrule, Octorock gently caresses you.
Quil is covered in ink and loses hitpoints
Tigi is covered in tentacles and loses hitpoints.
How are we going to deal with this mess now?
c69e99 No.7204
The party should attempt to tame the octopus
532773 No.7205
>>7202
We can't give up that easily! Everyone wrangle the octopus! We'll hug it until it submits!
6299a8 No.7227
I don't think that just hugging the ball of tentacles is going to tame it.
On the other hand, protecting it from an alpha predator might give a better bonding experience. Even if it ends up hiding in somebody's clothing.
For reference, the dragon is heading back towards the old man. But he should be safe, that dragon can't fit in the door.
So… go east? Head back west to check? Try to teach your new land octopus tricks?
b6f6a1 No.7229
>>7227
Let's just carefully go check back on that door, with our octopus in hand, and see if the dragon is doing something weird. If it's safe, we'll go into the door.
6299a8 No.7230
I swear, these are only meant to be four to sex panels long…
Anyway, our three… um… four heroes are just off screen hidden from both the dragon knight and the sage, but listening in while the two have their shouting match over politics.
They've got more rant to go through and I'm sure they can sort things out peacefully, but if the heroes want to interrupt, maybe try to save the dragon knight from the clearly angry old sage or something, feel free to suggest a plan of action.
7a0cb1 No.7231
>>7230
Maybe the sage is angry because he is lonely. Can we give him the octopus to be his friend?
6299a8 No.7245
Pity… maybe we'll be able to give him the octopus present soon… but at the moment I'm still following the "carefully" instruction. I wouldn't say that it's safe yet…
Oh, and I don't have the animation for it, but the dragon(yes, the knight turned back into dragon form, that's what that red spike on the edge in the last panel) is just grabbing the old man to haul him off, not trying to hurt him or anything.
a283c1 No.7250
Welp, so much for giving the old man the octopus for a pet. Let's raid the cave for anything useful before going out to save him. Maybe we'll come across other shit we need.
3547a9 No.7251
>>7250
Agreed. I doubt he's using it at the moment.
6299a8 No.7256
Ugh, sorry… I'll get a comic for this up tomorrow. Sorry.
In the meantime, the items that will be found in the cave, in addition to some food on the table(the old man was going to have lunch when he was interrupted, now it's going to waste), and a pot of some water(so we can clean the ink off of Quil), there's also going to be:
A sword
A shield
A suit of basic armor
A map (magical and self drawing, but that won't be obvious at first)
A boomerang
A book of potion making
A wand
A magical element
A pouch of money
And maybe a few more things, if I can think of them(do we want to give the pet octopus a bow or leash or something?)
So… how about we figure out how we're going to divvy out this loot to our three(four?) heroes?
6299a8 No.7259
Final loot haul:
A sword
A shield
A suit of basic armor
A map
A bow
A quiver with only a few arrows
A boomerang
A length of rope
A book of potion making
Three empty potion vials
A wand
A magical element
A pouch of money
Now, that should be more than enough of a haul to properly adventure with. Enough to keep everyone protected in different ways and provide some tools for getting past obstacles.
Eight comics and we're just now past "It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!" And I'm cool with that.
a283c1 No.7265
Quil gets the sword, shield, basic armor and map, Tigi gets the book of potion making and potion vials, wand and magical element while Viv gets the boomerang, bow, quiver with arrows, pouch of money and the map. Afterwards, ADVENTURE!
a283c1 No.7266
>>7265
Ignore Quil getting the map. I dun fucked up. Viv gets it.
6299a8 No.7267
Woo, double sized this time. I was going to stop halfway, but figured that there wasn't a whole lot that would lend itself to choices being made. And the whole exposition of them figuring out the inventory screen and such could probably have been skipped, but I like the world building. Figuring out your inventory screen is often the first step in these games.
Tigi was only out of it for a few seconds during her vision with the great sage. Just long enough for Viv to practice her boomerang indoors, which… broke something.
Anyway, onward… Over the river and too the woods? Up the river and to the lake? To the eastern shores? Look into the forest temple, or the lake temple, or the mountain temple?
a283c1 No.7279
>>7267
Check out the broken thing. After that, I say onward to the woods.
6299a8 No.7285
Alright, off for adventure!
And yes, the jumping cyclops spiders stayed out of your way because I didn't want you all to try hugging them again… so let's talk to the… mer-man… thing…
c69e99 No.7286
Haggle for the toll bridge price
6299a8 No.7287
Is everything going to be a non-violent solution for this? Really?
Okay, you've haggled him down to a price you can afford. Barely. You have twenty five, and there are four of you at five each. Though I don't honestly think he's going to charge the octopus. I mean… really… who expects an octopus to pay?
Is that good enough, or is it time to do some… aggressive negotiation? You know… the kind of negotiation that involves a sword…
a6bee1 No.7288
>>7287
Sounds like a reasonable price. The man's got to feed his family.
6299a8 No.7291
You come on a witches house. Investigate? Continue on to the forest? Attack the chicken?
492972 No.7298
>>7291
I say we attempt to tame the chicken with light pats. Maybe we can get him to come with us, along with the octopus, and start training to become beastmasters!
6299a8 No.7300
Looks like no chicken minion for you just yet…
So… you're at broom point by a witch who is a bit more annoyed than angry at you. Shall we attack? Talk our way out of it?
2743e1 No.7302

Great the witch, introduce the octopus, and see what this place is all about.
6299a8 No.7305

I'm going to assume you meant "greet" not great. And I'm going to hope everyone else ignores me typos too.
Ah, we now have clues! Moblins are bad guys! Fairy, Kokiri, and Deku are… um… living in the woods. The Forest Temple is just a short way away, but through the Moblin camp. There's a curse! Do we want to ask the witches about any more details, or is it time to barge on ahead? I have the exposition if you want it typed out!
96fb6d No.7316
>>7305
Dump that tasty exposition.
6299a8 No.7326
Not the exposition I wanted to share, I'll explain in a bit. Still, how about somebody comes up with a question to ask Maple or Syrup?
6299a8 No.7327
I started this project… back in 2013 by the timestamp on the file… wow… anyway, I've done this on two other much smaller forums that quickly fell apart, and expanded my image resources. I figured here I'd be able to tell at least a bit more of the story. Unfortunately, this was saved on a thumbdrive, and I had a powersurge while working on it. This image is what my Legend of Zelda stuff turned into. I'm trying to put things back together, but this is probably going to slow me down.

Let's just let our heroes talk amongst themselves, come up with a potential plans.
6299a8 No.7347
Our heroes have a direction. Shall we head out? Shall we ask the witch girl, or perhaps even Granny, any questions? What kind of questions do you want to ask?
d07bb8 No.7350

Ask the witch girl for her phone number. Then head sneakily for the moblin camps.
6299a8 No.7368
Rolled 6, 1, 1 = 8 (3d10)
Not exactly a phone number, but you've got a way to call her up if you need her. I'd say this world has no phones, but I'd actually be proven wrong. Still, I wanted to make some kind of pun with "ringing her up" or something like that. Unfortunately nothing came to me.
Okay, you're in the forest, not too deep, and you've come across a moblin hunting party. They haven't seen our heroes yet.Your pet octorok is angry for some reason and wants to attack, while the moblins are ranging north, trying to hunt fairy.
How do you deal with your land octopus wanting to pick a fight? Will you let the fairy be hunted? Can we successfully sneak through the camps(that's what the dice roll is for)? Would it be better to fight? Diplomacy?
9025b9 No.7385
>>7368
Call the witch for back up. Launch a 4 pronged assault. One from either direction (assuming the side-scrolling nature of the pictures is reflective of the world) one from the right, one from the left, and the rest from above. Capture the enemies and threaten them with being fed to the octopus if they don't give us all the answers we want. Then, feed the least talkative one to it.
6299a8 No.7407

A proper pincher movement, Tigi snuck around behind the trees(stealth check success) and Viv actually managed to climb the tree and leap into position(agility check).
Unfortunately it fell apart after that, while Maple was signaled, it'll take her a bit to get there, and in the mean time the fight is on! The moblins won't go down easily, how will our heroes deal with this? Quil is ducking behind his shield, and Tigi ducked behind a tree, but that's only enough to prep for a counter attack.
So should Viv use the bow… with only a few arrows… or her boomerang? Target orange or blue?
Should Tigi attempt melee, force bolt, or try to cast something more complicated?
Should Quil stay defensive and keep blocking while his teammates deal with the threat? Should he go on the offensive, even if it might leave him open to spear point?
0f7713 No.7408
>>7407
Viv use the boomerang! Target the closest one!
Tigi try to cast something complicated, unless the enemy gets too close, in which case switch to a simple spell or melee.
Quil, keep it busy, don't try to be a hero. Wait for back up from the witch or until the other two are done.
6299a8 No.7409

Well… good news and bad news about the witch showing up to help…
You can roll with this, right? I mean… fight seems to be going your way, so do we finish these guys off, or still try to capture them for information? Even though, if they're not dealt with quickly, they might take advantage of the witch who might be hurt…
329ad8 No.7410

>might take advantage of the witch
Are you trying to turn this into a lewd quest?
6299a8 No.7411
Rolled 1, 9 = 10 (2d10)
>>7410
At this resolution, you really can't get anything decently lewd, so don't expect me to draw it.
That said, we've already had tentacle molestation, so I don't care at this point.
329ad8 No.7412
>>7411
Alright then. Let's keep rolling with the current battle. If Viv can get under the blue one being held up by Tigi who apparently even lifts to pull the witch out that would be good.
6299a8 No.7413
Rolled 6, 2 = 8 (2d10)
Okay, Viv manages her agility for getting off of her treetop perch fast enough to catch Maple(I'm not sure if she's rolling under the blue moblin or behind the tree in the background, does it matter though?). And then fails her agility check to catch and save Maple, so they just kinda collide and land on the ground. So left at the mercy of the orange moblin, Quin scores a second, much more fatal, hit.
The Force Lift spell steadily draining her magic meter, and forcing Tigi to hold position to maintain the control effect. Fortunately, we had one last hero on the team. You forgot the ocotorok climbing up into the trees earlier. Now it pounces and tries to do to the blue moblin what it tried to do to Tigi, but with better success(Tigi had three hearts of hitpoints, the Moblin less).
So… The moblin dropped some loot, and what shall we do with a helpless witch?
04bd96 No.7476

Take the loot, bring the witch back home, and go on with the quest.
