Its ok to list several actions in one reply. After some time, I will pick 3 actions with the most votes and perform then in one turn.

Basic actions:

Gather - After 3 turns, get resources. Gathering far away from settlement may be unreliable.

Move - Attack/Explore/Move to specified location. Once at location, units will guard it until told otherwise. Default move speed is 2 tiles per turn.

Ritual - Used to cast spells, research new perks or enchant monsters. Requires mana.

Special - Whatever else.

Will provide map when starting location is selected. Expect lot of setbacks if you make stupid decisions.

Life was good, but your tribe is on the run for several days now. Filthy pinkskins are waging war against each other in the northwest. Of course you exploited the obvious opportunity and started to raid their villages when they were busy killing each other. A few days ago, our leader got too careless. Humans were waiting for us. That stupid shit ordered to attack anyways. After a few minutes it was clear who is on the losing side. I hastly ordered retreat, we got what we hastly could from our old outpost and now we are here. Time to stop and think.

First things first, lets get an inventory of what we have on hand, a head count, and some icons on the map to help us understand what we are seeing.

To the north of us is that a river feeding into a lake or an ocean?

We came from northwest. Yes, there is a river in north feeding into an ocean. There is a coral reef at the delta. To the west you see a few patches of swamp and forest.

You have some surplus food for now, but don't expect it to last for long. You are armed quite well, most tribesmen have pikes, leather armor, some tools, some even crossbows - all "borrowed" from humans. It is possible pinkskins followed you even here although you dont think it very probable.

Location you are in seems to be quite alright for a temporary settlement. With the good visibility, it would be hard to get surprised by approaching armies. On the other hand, plains don't offer much defenses. Proximity to sea also guarantees strong winds and rainfall.

Alrighty, We'll need to get setup, we can last without gathering food for a while, to the detriment of our troops, but if we get caught out in the rain and wind without shelter we are dead.

Gather- we should gather from the small amount of forest to our south west and return.

Build-We should use the wood and other resources we gather to build huts and shelters.

Plan- Lets show our people we are smarter than our leader before us, lets plan out a general shape of the camp when we are finished, try to improve our orcs moral and faith in their leader.

Too drunk to post sensible reply now. Gonna reply tomorrow.

I'd like to ask if we have any named or important Figures in our group, other than the leader of course.

When the OP comes back i'd like to ask about the Mana/required mana part of his post, does that mean we have some sort of shaman already? or that one of our group has the capability of using magic, holding Mana.

Everyone is gathering resources and food for the base camp that needs to be built as soon as possible. Some went hunting and gathering wood in the western forest. Others scout the beach for edibles. It's a grueling task after the night of forced march, but you know it has to be done.

Tribesmen are following your orders although you already know there will be trouble. A few folks gathered around a big, muscular orc named Korgak. He is a member of the old garde, loyal to the old leader and his ways. Fortunately for you, neither the old leader nor Korgak are very smart. Korgak's group is strong though and equipped with the best armour and weapons. When they return from the hunt you are quite sure they wont be willing to share.

Tribesmen are now returning with the logs. Should they begin to build the base right here, or closer to the western forest/swamp? Or somewhere else?

>>7377

Gathering mana means something along the lines of looking for resin, berries, flowers, shamans preparing for the ritual etc. Ritual itself is something like research (when developing perks) or communion with the spirits or gods (when casting spell). Ill list possible Tier I perks and spells later.

Also when gathering it would be good idea to specify what to focus on (food, resources, mana).

The next day should be spent resting, a forced march coupled with a full days gathering and walking will cause fatigue and exhaustion even with a nights rest, any orcs willing to get things started aren't to be ignored though.

I suggest we allow the orcs their time to rest and relax as they need while we work out leadership, future plans and trying to convince Korgak to our side, we need to play to each others best qualities, not just our strength.

Draw out a general line in the dirt when the previous is done, in the location we are at to show were our walls should be, and tell any orcs willing to, to start setting up temporary shelters within it between rests, i think we should settle out in the open, we orcs, nothing subtle about us, make it hard to sneak up on us.

What should OUR name be. i vote for Mikle

So Korgak is big stupid and strong,

what are our traits if we have any, or can we pick them?

I'd like us to be Wise and shamanistic.

215365 No.7399

>>7380

Wise and shamanistic, but with a giant, tough 2IC if possible. Mikle works as a name.

Are we sure we want to settle in so soon? I'd be keen to send out some scouting parties to move slowly around the area to find a good position before we make permanent fortifications.

Honestly, i was running under the assumption we'd be risking infighting and arguments about where to settle with the other faction in the orc part "korgak" if we spent to much time deliberating about the settlement location.

Though i will relent, it might be more prudent to Brows and learn more about our situation.

Korgak and his entourage return from the hunt. Predictably, they set their own campfire away from the rest of the tribe and begin to prepare captured game. The orc whose decision saved us from defeat by the hands of pinkskins approaches them and starts to speak. "We have to put aside or differences and work together! The pinkskins may be the" His head falls off his shoulders, cut by one swift movement of Korgak's axe. Everyone knew this confrontation was about to happen but not many guessed it would be over so quick. You, Mikle, watch all of this from respectable distance. Korgak needs to be dealth with, fast, and obviously not by reasoning. You also know you cannot match him in pure combat prowess. Subterfuge, although not honorable, may work.

(I think Ill base the orcish civ around internal strife. For now, I removed Ritual. Combat will work like in Travian (http://forum.travian.us/showthread.php?t=75248 ). All attacks are considered raids unless you tell me otherwise. Each orc has base 2/2 attack/defense value. There are also bonuses for terrain, morale etc. )

How many men does Korgak have, what are they like and how are they organized? We'll probably have to posion or murder him and his top men to get the rest in line. Either that, or possibly force them into a situation where they have to fight the pinkskins.

We must have a man who's loyal to us but friendly with Korgak's men. Send him to find out if they saw anything interesting or dangerous while they were on their hunt.
