1. Finding the source of an image

•Reverse image search:

-http://imgops.com/ (can search using all services in this post, upload to another site and link it if uploading there fails)

-https://www.imageraider.com/ (Google+Bing+Yandex)

-https://saucenao.com/ (Booru/Art search)

-https://iqdb.org/ (Booru search)

-http://karmadecay.com/ (Reddit image search)

Search the results, look for comments and information on the image.

•Describe the image on a search engine (e.g. batman shirt model)

•Look for watermarks and names in the image and check for metadata by viewing its properties.

•View EXIF information if available, which lets you see where the picture was taken: http://exif.regex.info/exif.cgi

•Cropping the image may increase your success with the first method, especially if it's a collage or has heavy editing.

•Read the filename.

1.1 Finding the source of a 2D/anime/manga/hentai/furry artwork image

•Specific services to use:

-https://whatanime.ga/ (anime only)

-http://www.ascii2d.net/ (may need to translate results)

note that the all the above services can be used through imgops.com

•Go to booru websites and search for tags that apply to your image (e.g. 2girls, 1boy, brown_hair, pantyhose, anus, cum_on_breasts).

-https://e621.net/ (furry)

You can also look for tags on doujin websites if you're looking for doujins.

-https://exhentai.org/ (How to access: https://pastebin.com/zSLVsWdS)

•If your image has titles or information written in kana, you can try looking it up.

•Try asking at >>>/rec/

2. Finding the source of a video/webm

•Read the metadata. If a video has a title, it can be viewed with VLC (tools > media info) or MPC (view > information).

•Take a snapshot of the first and middle frames (ctrl+s on VLC, alt+i on MPC) and reverse image search them (see 1). You can also right click the video on your browser and save a snapshot. If your desired video is part of a compilation, screencap the relevant frames.

•Describe the video on a search engine or YouTube (e.g. man headbutting wall).

•Check comments, video description and credits if it's hosted on a video sharing website such as Youtube.

•Anime/Hentai/Cosplay videos can be found on some boorus (see 1.1).

•Look for watermarks and names in the video.

•Read the filename.

3. Finding the source of music

•Look up the lyrics.

•Try music identification services, such as:

Some may require ripping and trimming the audio. There are many of these services available online, simply look for them on your search engine. There are also several of them for your mobile device.

•If the music is included in a video/webm, finding the video may lead you to the music (see 2).

•If the music is hosted on a video sharing website such as YouTube, read the video description, credits and comments.

•Read the metadata if it's in a video/webm

4. Finding torrents

Torrents are a peer-to-peer method of file sharing, used to share movies, games, shows, audio, images, books, etc. - https://archive.fo/kxyWJ

You will need a client to get started - qBittorrent, Deluge, Transmission and rTorrent are recommended for being free and open source.

•Check torrent websites.

Here are some public sites. There are more trustworthy private sites, but I can't help you get access to those.

Get subtitles in many languages for movies here:

•Please be aware of what you download, some of it may be illegal or contain malware. Using a VPN or proxy is very recommended.

•qBittorrent has a useful function that lets you easily search across most of the sites above. Go to the search tab, click search plugins, check for updates, then get your desired search plugins here:
